MERIT — MY FOOT
Reply to Anti-reservation Racists
V.T. RAJSHEKAR
Nowhere in the world “merit and efficiency” are
given so much of importance as in India which is now pushed to
the 120th position (in the UN Human Development Report) — virtually
the last — among the different countries in the world. Upper
caste rulers of India keep the country’s vast original inhabitants — the
Untouchables, Tribals, Backward Castes and “religious minorities” (Muslims/Christians/Sikhs
etc.) — permanently as slaves with the help of this “merit” mantra.
By “merit and efficiency”, they mean
the birth. Merit goes with the high born — the blue blood.
This is pure and simple racism. (V.T. Rajshekar, Brahminism,
Dalit Sahitya Akademy-DSA, 2001).
BRAINLESS IDIOTS
Through the media they own, the books they write, the films they
produce, the religion they preach, schools and colleges they run,
the upper castes (Hindus) have injected so much poison of “merit
theory” into the blood of each and every Indian that the
very victims of this theory have come to accept it as true. This
is the secret of India’s vast slaves enjoying their slavery.
“Merit theory” is also upheld by the country’s
Constitution and enforced through its upper caste-dominated police
and judiciary. According to this “theory” only the
Brahmins and other upper castes are capable of ruling this country
because they alone possess all the “brains” and the
Scheduled Castes/Tribes and Backward Castes are brainless idiots.
This Aryan theory of merit going with birth or heredity was used
by the White-skinned Europeans to suppress the dark-skinned Black
Africans.
That birth and skin-colour have nothing to do with “merit” (brain)
is a scientifically proved fact. But the ruling class nowhere in
the world is concerned with science because science stands for
progress. And those interested in progress will have to be human.
That is not so in India.
If one has to see man’s inhumanity to man in its
most naked form he must come to India, the original home of racism
and inequality.
So the “merit theory” beautifully suits its ruling
class or caste, namely Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Banias etc.
ROLE OF SKIN-COLOUR
Under Aryan influence, in India too skin colour assumed supreme
importance. Caste system itself is based on varna or colour.
If we look at matrimonial advertisements in leading daily papers,
we can see parents desiring to have “fair girls”,
of course from their own subcaste (jati) for their marriageable
sons. Persons, born fair, consciously or unconsciously begin to
entertain ideas of superiority.
White races have always looked down upon darker groups. Such racist
ideas of superiority naturally lead to ideas of purity, segregation
from contact or free intercourse with the darker nations.
Centuries of brainwashing has made us accept that dark colour
is associated with impurity: blackguard, black sheep, black-magic.
Don’t we say lily-White? White is associated with purity,
cleanliness, beauty and everything that is good. Such racist ideas
have led to conflict and subjugation. History has lots of instances.
When the Aryans met the dark-skinned natives of India, there were
prolonged conflicts.
WHY ONLY WHITE IS BEAUTIFUL?
Budha, the dark-skinned tribal king with an Afro-hairstyle, led
India’s first and most ferocious fight against the racist
Aryans. Slavery or caste system are the results of fair-skinned
Aryan invasion of India.
The White man did not like to share his ideas or blood with Brown,
Yellow, Black and Red people. Because White was associated with
everything good and virtuous. Black is associated with everything
evil and wicked. Aryan literature called the dark-skinned native
gods of the original inhabitants as rakshasas, demons, daitays, asuras, pisachies, vanaras and
attributed all barbaric qualities to them.
How come the fair colour of the skin is considered an essential
ingredient of what we call beauty? Why the colour of the skin dominates
the whole picture? Why all other physical factors are considered
unimportant?
Ideas are part of the value system of a society and the values
are propounded by the ruling class of a given society. Each ruling
class will manufacture a value to protect, promote and perpetuate
its privileges and properties. Every ruling class will manufacture
a religion, gods, sacred literature to promote its value system.
Its education system is geared to this value system.
BEAUTY MEANS WHITE
Literature and mass media make us believe that without a fair
skin we cannot conceive of beauty. Beauty means white and white
means beauty. An ideal beauty must have a fair skin. Art, literature,
poetry, novel and films have heroes and heroines considered beauties
with a skin color of ivory, rose or lily. All Aryan gods and goddesses
are fair-skinned. A god of Dravidian origin, Krishna, is the only
Black Hindu god. We should be shocked to find Sita or a Savitri,
Damayanti or a Sakuntala or a Helen of Troy depicted as Black.
All Indian film actors and actresses are fair.
People from North India have developed a superiority complex because
of their fair skin colour. In the same way South Indians have automatically
developed an inferiority complex because of their dark skin colour.
North Indians contemptuously call South Indians Madrasi because
people from Tamil Nadu are the darkest in India. To that extent
the fair-skinned people are contemptuous of South Indians. And
the dark-skinned Dravidas have accepted their inferior status.
VARNASHRAMA DHARMA
The idea of beauty itself is associated with fair skin. In fact
it is found on white skin not only in India but all over the world.
The obsession with white skin has gripped even the original inhabitants
of India — Scheduled Castes, Adivasis and Backward Castes.
African-Americans are also falling prey to this mental disease.
Stupid Michael Jackson peeled off his facial skin to appear white.
The colour of a person is at the bottom of Aryan racism. The Sanskrit
word varna means colour. Varnashrama Dharma is
the Sanskrit name for the Brahmin-manufactured caste system. Because
the conquering Aryans were White and the native population was
Black. Since the conquerors were a White race, naturally they called
themselves superior in everything.
Budha, a tribal hero who fought the Aryans on behalf of the natives,
was the first to repudiate the White superiority and put pride
into Black hearts. That is how Budhism became an instant popularity
in the whole country.
The world today is controlled by the White-skinned Westerners — who
happned to constitute the ruling class. American Jew Samuel Huntington’s
much publicised book, Clash of Civilisations (Penguin
Books, New Delhi, 1997) is about the impending clash between the
White ruling race and the rest in which the White Western race
will emerge victorious. The Whites have manipulated every mind
to covet white skin and made all dark, yellow and brown-skinned
people to think they are inferior.
We have seen Japanese girls going and sitting near Americans in
Tokyo while riding tube trains. To that extent even the yellow-skinned
Japanese have become slaves of Whites.
BLACK IS UGLY
The tragedy is White brainwashing made us believe that beauty
is identified with fair-skin which in turn is identified with beauty.
Every woman hailed as a beauty in history was White-skinned. Why?
Because the history was written by White-skinned Western historians.
Not only during marriage a fair-colour girl is chosen, but even
when a baby is born the first anxious question that is put is about
its colour. Our brains have been conditioned to believe that only
White is beauty and Black is ugly. This is called brain-washing.
And the ruling class of the world happens to be White, even when
the Russia was communist.
2 - HEREDITY & ENVIRONMENT
Scientists have identified two forces which are perpetually and
constantly at work to influence the character, growth and development
of the features of every living being in the universe including
animals and plants:
(1) Heredity and (2) Environment.
Each species produces only its own species. Biology is founded
on the cell theory. Cells live and die. Thus one cell becomes billion
cells soon. The cells divide and multiply. This is the mystery
of the nature. Nature itself is full of miracles.
Reproduction of a species is of two kinds:- uni-sexual and bi-sexual.
One kind is called the male germ cell or spermatozoa and the other
female germ cell or egg or ovum. Ovum and the spermatozoa unite
into one cell. Ovum gets fertilised after the union.
MENDEL’S THEORY
Mendel’s law of heredity is based on the principle of segregation.
He says when a red cock and white hen mate the chicken are 50%
all red and 50% all white and none a mixture of red and white.
A person’s acquired qualities do not touch the germ plasma
and hence are not present in the offspring. For example ear-boring
is so common to women and men in Indian villages. But children
born to such parents do not have a hole in their ears. The ancestors
of man—ape— had a tail but we do not have a tail.
A Bangalore University textbook for M.Sc. class, On Genetics (A
survey of the principles of heredity), by A.M. Winchester of Colorado
State College, USA, has the following to say on the subject:
One of the oldest concepts of inheritance holds that
the blood is the hereditary determiner. We still hear the terms “blood
will tell”, “blood line”, “blood relative” and “bad
blood” used in connection with heredity, and even though
these phrases may now be largely metaphorical, literal belief in
what they imply is not uncommon. Although science has long since
proved that blood has nothing to do with heredity, many people
still feel that blood has some mysterious effect. There are many
who will refuse a transfusion of blood from a member of another
race for fear that in some way they will acquire some of the characteristics
of that race. As a matter of fact, this is far from being true.
Indeed there have been a number of cases where a person’s
entire blood supply has been replaced by blood from others without
influencing his characteristics in any way. Blood is merely one
of the tissues of the body, as fluid tissue, which has no more
relation to heredity than the other body tissues such as bone,
muscle, and nerve. The heredity determiners which are transmitted
to future generations in higher animals are located only in a small
mass of germinal tissue more or less isolated from others tissues”,
says Winchester.
“Merit & efficiency” are not
inherited. They are an acquired quality that has not reached the
germ plasma. So, to say that a Brahmin’s son alone is a Brahmin
and hence has the “merit” to become a temple priest
(archaka), judge or scientist has no scientific basis.
Some other influence acts in combination with heredity and that
is environment.
With right environment — nutrition, education, free
atmosphere — Untouchables can prove better than Brahmins.
NATURE & NURTURE
Valsamma, P.T. Usha, Shiny Abraham — all Dalit girls — took
away all the Gold in the Seoul Asiad (1986) pushing all Brahmins
to background. Because they got the right environment.
Only racists can study the result in the offsprings from the point
of view of heredity alone and boast of the law of heredity without
taking into consideration the influence of environment.
The controversy over the issue of heredity vs. environment or
nature vs. nurture has been raging for several years now. The final
position on this debate is that genetic factors only provide the
potential for human development whereas it is the environmental
factors that translate this inherent potential into the full flowering
of the personality. Experiments through selective breeding and
studies on identical twins have established to a large extent the
influence of genetics on behaviors. But what ultimately determines
the personality is the inter-actional influences of heredity and
environment.
RACE IS DIFFERENT FROM GENES
The relationship between genetics and specifically one dimension
of personality —intelligence — follows the same logic
as explained above. Although an individual’s mental abilities
are a function of genetic potential, it is the interaction with
pre-natal and post-natal environmental conditions such as nutrition,
health, enriched or impoverished stimulation, the emotional climate
of the home and the type of feedback provided for behaviour that
are critical aspects in the final analysis. So much so, it has
been proved that IQ differences between children of low and high
socio-ecnomic status become progressively greater between birth
and entrance into school (Bayley, 1970).
Another major area of dispute is the aspect of racial differences
in intelligence. Arthur Jensen’s article in the Harvard Educational
Review in 1969, where he held that the Blacks as a race had an
inferior intelligence level (on certain counts), stirred a hornest’s
nest. When the dust finally settled, certain previously accepted
premises began to be suspected.
WOLF BOY
The relationship between race and genetics itself began to be
questioned. Where gene frequencies were known it was found that
differences between races were much lesser than differences within
races. Further, it was found that traditionally some races were
superior at certain jobs/skills. This led to the questioning of
the definition of intelligence itself. Are standard measures of
IQ valid across cultures and population segments?
Great deal of research and study has gone into this still hazy
area which encompasses the fields of genetics, sociology, medicine,
anthropology, ethno-science, politics, ethics and philosophy. The
ultimate outcome really depends on the relative weightage assign
able to the two determinants — nature and nurture.
In conclusion, it is now evident that although the genetic
structure predisposes, it is the environment that is the decisive
factor. This is proved by twin studies conducted with children
of parents who are diabetics or schizophrenics.
Heredity may be an underlying force. But environment, a super-imposed
force, even nullifies heredity.
LAW OF THE JUNGLE
Here is a striking example: Heard of the famous “wolf boy”?
A pack of wolves took away a new-born child which grew amid them
in a wild forest where it never came into contact with humans.
So, it not only could not speak but could only cry like a wolf.
Not only that. When he grew up into a boy he did not learn to walk
but like the wolf he was four-legged using even hands as feet only.
The child did not become a human being but resembled a wolf when
the boy was exhibited at a press conference.
From this we can deduce that when a part of the environment
of a species is changed, a part of the features of the species
also changes and it adapts itself to the change in the environment.
This is a very important law of the nature which our racist Aryans
chose to ignore because it stood in the way of enslaving the
natives of India.
Make a simple change in the environment and it results in a simple
change in the features of the species. Drastic changes in the environment
may result in drastic changes in the features of the species.
Heredity works from within. Environment works from outside. There
is a direct relationship between the environment and the features
and qualities.
The Untouchables and Adivasis are denied protein which
is a must for the growth of brain. They are denied human rights.
With such enslavement of mind and body, how can they possess “merit
and efficiency”? The society denies them environment so
that they will continue to be slaves.
In nature, we find the strong feeding on the weak. This is called
the law of the jungle. Big fish live by eating the small ones.
The strong kill the weak or drive them away. The man being strong
dominates the woman.
The forces of heredity do work but it is the environment that
really matters. Environment super-imposed on the forces of heredity
ultimately determines the qualities or features of the species.
RAMANUJAM’S FATE
Dr. Babasaheb B.R. Ambedkar was a product of this. Had
he no environment he too would have blushed unseen, unwept. He
lived during the British (Christian) rule which was a benevolent
rule. The Maratha rulers gave him all support. Though born an
Untouchable and poor, he could soar to new heights because the
atmosphere was then favourable. In 1947, the Bitish rule was
replaced by a Brahmin rule and that brought in a suffocating
atmosphere. That is why India has not seen a second Babasaheb
Ambedkar.
Millions and millions of Untouchables, Tribals and Backward Caste
geniuses got crushed without the right environment. And if this
suffocating environment is allowed to continue there is no doubt
India will turn into an intellectual Sahara. There are already
signs of it. (V.T. Rajshekar, India’s Intellectual Desert,
DSA-1999).
Heredity is simple. But environment is complicated. By heredity
we mean the parentage which is determined. But environment is not
fixed. Not determined. We can’t say what must constitute
an ideal environment.
A genius is only 10% inspiration but 90% perspiration.
There is nothing like a born genius.
“CHOSEN PEOPLE” THEORY
Ramanujam, a Tamil Brahmin, was rotting as a clerk in Madras.
It was only after he went to London and worked under the liberating
Christian environment, he flowered into a mathematical prodigy.
The British spotted his genius and provided him the right environment.
If he was a born genius, why his own tribesmen did not recognise
it in Madras?
No race is pure. Racial pride is the result of pure prejudice.
And prejudice comes out of hatred. All ruling classes build a theory
suited to their needs and try to give a “scientific” backing
to it.
“Merit and efficiency” is a pure
Aryan invention, aimed at maintaining their monopoly hold on the
non-Aryan original inhabitants of India — Scheduled Castes,
Scheduled Tribes, Backward Castes and Muslims, Christians, Sikhs.
Human traits are due to blending of the forces of heredity and
the more important environment. The White meritocrats made us believe
that the “Black Negro” is a backward race. In India,
the Aryan racists have succeeded in impressing that the SC/ST/BCs
are brainless idiots. Aryans are the founding fathers of racism.
The Jews and India’s Brahmins — who have a common origin
and common traits — are the only two people in the world
claiming to be “chosen people”, born to rule. Their
racist theory has caused widespread misery, many wars — now
threatening a Third World War.
3 - WHY INDIA DID NOT PRODUCE A SINGLE NOBEL LAUREATE?
“Merited” upper castes look down upon the Panchama (Untouchables).
But the same Panchama gets converted to Islam, Christianity,
Budhism or Sikhism, his environment is changed. The Indian Christian
community with 80% Dalit converts is far more advanced than many
upper caste groups. Religious conversion changes not the birth
but environment.
It is the Hindu religious environment that has kept the Panchama as
a mental slave. The moment he gets converted to an egalitarian
religion, the environment gets transformed and he is liberated.
The Bangladesh Untouchables (Namasudras) have a country of their
own today because they got converted to Islam but their counterparts
living in West Bengal (India) continue to live as slaves. What
transformed the Bangladesh Untouchables? Environment. Not birth.
MEENAKSHIPURAM CONVERSION
Religious conversion, therefore, is a must for an Untouchable.
Religious conversion changes the environment, the person’s
mental make-up. That is how the converted Dalits — whether
they be Budhists, Christians, Muslims or Sikhs — are today
proud and self-confident.
The Meenakshipuram mass conversions of Untouchables (1981) to
Islam that brought sleepless nights to upper castes proves this.
The upper castes oppose conversion of Untouchables and Tribals
precisely for this reason because the converted Dalits get a new
environment which help speed up their liberation. This is the secret
of the upper caste opposition to religious conversion. In some
states, the upper caste rulers are forcing the state itself to
ban conversion. A similar legislation is also planned for the whole
country. The whole plan is to keep the Dalits as slaves within
the Hindu fold.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
(Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Why Go For Conversion?, Dalit Sahitya
Akademy, 1987).
A society cannot make any progress as long as only a few members
of it monopolise all the “knowledge” to themselves
and deny it to the rest. What is the use of this “knowledge” when
an overwhelming majority of the community is ignorant? We have
in this country a bullshit Knowledge Commission comprising first-rate
racists.
Even those who possess this “knowledge” cannot remain
happy despite this monopoly. Brahmins and other upper castes might
have this vicarious pleasure of keeping all the “knowledge” to
themselves but do they know the consequence of that?
It is true that some members from the upper castes have “succeeded” in
making tremendous progress but this “progress” is limited
to less than 10 to 15% of the Indian society. Over 85% of the population
of India is denied even basic human rights —not to speak
of food, clothing and shelter. Health and education, they can never
dream of. A society if it has to progress, every member of it must
contribute to its development. But in India, SC/ST/BCs (65%) are
called “brainless idiots”. Religious minorities (another
20%) like Muslims, Christians, Sikh etc. are called anti-national,
extremists, terrorists, security risk, foreign agents, secessionists
and fundamentalists.
CRICKET AS GAME OF IDLERS
Besides, women including upper caste women are also treated as
second-grade citizens. What type of a contribution we can expect
from these three sections namely (1) SC/ST/BCs, (2) minorities
and (3) women? That is why India has not produced a single Nobel
Laureate after “independence”. Sir C.V. Raman had won
the Nobel Prize before “independence”. So too Rabindranath
Tagore. But none after the “merited” Aryan Brahminical
forces started ruling India. Even in sports and games India’s
contribution is nil — barring cricket, the idlers’ game,
which ideally suits our upper caste lazy lots who believe in the
philosophy of all play and no work.
China today and Soviet Russia then were able to become world powers
because of the equal opportunity enjoyed by all its citizens.
A “nation” gets stronger when it values its honest
intellectuals and honours them. The community that does not permit
flowering of a genius will be naturally backward. What is the use
of acquiring a mountain of knowledge by one or a few? It is the
acquisition of knowledge by a majority of the community that will
be of real and lasting value. That is why knowledge is not assimilated
by the people of India on a large scale. And that is why India
has become famous as a beggar nation.
WHY NO SECOND AMBEDKAR?
One of the direct effects of this is that brilliant intellectuals
born in India or a good many of them are lost to the society.
We did not get a second Babasaheb Ambedkar because Brahminism
never allowed the full flowering any genius from the “low
castes”. That is how the country is pakced with dwarfs and
duds parading as great thinkers and scholars but simply producing
confusion.
The problem with our jaundiced upper caste/Aryan society
is it recognises “merit” only in a twice-born (dwija).
Whatever may be the achievement of the rest, the Brahmins will
never, ever recognise it. And the Brahmin media will never give
publicity to such a person.
Rather, it will run down and attribute all sorts of bad things
to a genuine genius. Babasaheb Ambedkar was victim of such a vilification
when he was alive.
That is why India did not see a second Babasaheb Ambedkar. Babasaheb
was nourished by the British who spotted his genius. A Maratha
ruler educated him and the British gave him all the opportunities.
But it was the advent of the Brahmin rule after 1947 that hastened
his death.
REVOLUTIONARIES KILLED
Had India received “independence” 50 years
before 1947 perhaps we would not have even seen Babasaheb. He
was a product of the environment.
So too Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy, R.M. Lohia, Shyam Sunder, Narayana
Guru. Even Mahatma Phule.
If the water comes out of a shankha (conch), then only
it will be called tirtha. If not it is mere water. Heard
of it anywhere in the world?
Not a single revolutionary born after 1947 was allowed to grow — if
not killed in the very womb of the mother.
The existing Brahminical environment is not conducive
to the birth of a revolutionary.
NEVER MONOPOLISE KNOWLEDGE
A revolutionary is like a seed. It should be allowed to sprout
which needs proper fertiliser, watering, fencing and other protection.
When it grows into a plant further care is necessary. Protection
from pests and diseases. Storm or sun may destroy the plant. In
India, a revolutionary is squeezed to death at the very stage of
seed. And by chance it sprouts and becomes a plant, Brahminical
brainwashing curbs its growth, if not killed. Brahminical education
system brainwashes young minds to grow into lifeless morons.
“Knowledge” has come to mean just passing examinations
and earning money. A person is considered “successful” in
life if he makes plenty of money. How he acquires the money is
never questioned. That is why intellectual professions do not attract
the best talents. The rush is for medicine, engineering and the
latest craze is for management and IT-BT.
We have become a country of third-rate if not fourth-rate filth.
Where knowledge accumulates, men decay. Where intellectual pursuits
are monopolised, people perish. India has become a vast intellectual
wasteland.
Here is a simple example. How did measles, chickenpox, smallpox,
malaria, filaria— once claimed to have been eradicated— reappear
in India? A family may have perfect knowledge of sanitation, it
might be spotlessly clean with half a dozen doctors in the family.
But if its neighbours are ignorant of hygiene it will also get
the dreaded diseases. Chickenpox and smallpox are eradicated in
China decades ago because there everybody has the knowledge of
hygiene. Infection comes due to ignorance of the neighbours. Contagious
diseases come because of un-hygienic living. Knowledge of sanitation
must be widespread if every individual has to be healthy. That
is how malaria has come back in India. It is not enough if one
individual possesses the knowledge of hygiene. They must have the
means to keep their surroundings clean. With hundreds of slums
sprouting in every city, how can urban life remain free from contagious
diseases? India’s merit-mongers, please note: Never monopolise
knowledge.
ENVY AS OUR NATIONAL CHARACTER
That is why as a country we are decaying. India’s “Brahmin
press” may go on reminding us of our “glorious past” but
the past cannot sustain us today. The main cause of decay is our
indifference to the role played by environment in building a healthy
country.
We can’t say the upper castes are ignorant of the role of
environment. Their problem is envy — our “national” character.
They are jealous that if a right environment is created, SC/ST/BCs
may also come up and the upper caste monopoly position may be threatened.
It is this fear that is making them insecure, worried.
Every problem the upper castes create today, both external and
internal, our wars with China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka,
the rise of Nazi Shiv Sena, and other Senas, the RSS-Viswa Hindu
Parishad-created Ram Janam Bhoomi, the Punjab and Kashmir problems,
Gujarat Genocide-2002 are all the result of this upper caste fear.
They are afraid of their own shadows. Hate kills the very creators
of hate.
BLACKS SURPASS WHITES
The Black people in African countries may be “backward” but
the same Blacks who were captured and taken to USA as slaves by
the Whites today are on the top. Malcolm X, Martin Luther King,
Louis Farrakhan, Jessie Jackson, Colin Powell, even Condi Rice,
and any number of them are today dominating the US scene. Black
American singers, actors, film and sports stars have surpassed
Whites not only in America itself but the Whites even in Europe.
When the African continent gets liberated, we can expect
the African Blacks to surpass all others and become world leaders
in science, art and literature.
Human being is the product of environment and not birth. Where
does “merit ” come? Merit, my foot.
The Aryan vaidiks are the laziest of all Indians. Out
of the 365 days in a year, they enjoy holidays for 300 days. On
the rest of 65 days they only go to office but do not work.
India has the largest number of holidays. Our upper caste
rulers want more holidays. Can you think of geater lazy lots
in the world?
How can such laziest fellows on earth be called meritorious? Merit,
My Foot.
“POVERTY” AMONG BRAHMINS
Brahmins and other upper castes of India have stifled the whole
society by hanging on to their pet theory propounded in their “sacred
scriptures”. Did their own pet theories of “merit ” benefit
them — at least? The very fact that the Brahmins very often
complain that they have any number of “poor” among
them proves that the “merit and efficiency” theory,
founded to maintain their monopoly hold on the society, did not
uplift their own community. How could a set of people who could
not liberate themselves liberate others?
These upper castes are never tired of speaking about India’s “glorious
past”. But what is the present condition? Total decay. This
decay is entirely due to the environment.
Races which were White have become Black. The once fair-skinned
Brahmins have become dark. EMS Namboodiripad, the late Kerala marxist
leader, a Brhamin, was very dark. The Kanchi Shankarachari is also
dark-skinned. Tamil Nadu Brahmins boast they are India’s
purest Brahmins. But they are India’s darkest. North Indian
Brahmins say that South Indian Brahmins are not pure Aryans. Under
this environment South Indian papans (as Periyar EVR named
them) became dark.
DR. VELU ANNAMALAI CASE
You take the child of a Delhi University professor and put him
in a village school, it will prove to be third rate. Its father
may be a professor but the heredity pales before environment. An
Untouchable boy born in a village taken to America and brought
up there will prove to be better than a Brahmin village boy.
We have the famous case of Dr. Velu Annamalai, the dark-skinned
Adi-Dravida (Tamil) and the once Dalit Voice representative
in US, and his children. Where is the influence of birth (heredity)?
Can we find a more stupid people than these upper castes?
Knowledge is always gained. It spreads through the community.
Where no opportunity is given to gain knowledge the people perish
and the nation decays. This is what has happened to India. All
this boast of “India shining”, “India flying” is
bullshit. It can never as long as Brahminical racism remains as
the hindrance.
BRAHMIN BAKER
The strength of a chain depends on its weakest link. Two Brahmin
brothers set up two separate “Iyengar Bakery” shops
in two different areas in Bangalore city. The younger one’s
shop was in a fashionable locality but the elder’s was in
a slum area. The first one made quick money, the other was losing.
He was losing because the “environment” of his shop
was bad. People in the slum area had no purchasing power. Had the
upper caste Brahmin rulers provided the right environment, the
slum-dwellers too would have come up and their jatwala baker
too would have made money.
The lesson is Brahmins themselves are suffering by keeping
a section of the society backward.
Equal opportunity will help Brahmins also equally. But their jealousy,
fear will not make them understand even this simplest logic.
The dynamic character of a nation depends on every unit comprising
that nation. Ultimately the nation depends on the child and its
environment. Ignore the child and the nation totters and crumbles.
SEX-STARVED SOCIETY
If the cycle has to move and move fast, every link in the cycle
chain (we have compared this link to a caste — ethnic identity)
must be in perfect condition. India’s cycle is not moving
because our merit-mongers are oiling only their Brahmin link, neglecting
the rest. The rusted links brought the cycle to a dead stop. India
is not moving. It can’t move. It will never.
The woman’s position in a nation or society is an important
factor contributing to a healthy environment which has a great
effect on the nation. The energy of over 50% of the society comprising
women is kept bottled because of the Aryan hatred against women.
Right from childhood, a boy is given better environment whereas
a girl is curbed. Under such a hostile environment the women suffer
in silence. They are the first to get up and the last to sleep —many
times half or even empty stomach. Male-dominated society is a sex-starved
society.
The Manu Dharma, (the code of the Brahmin law-giver)
has reduced the women to slavery. Even Brahmin women are not realising
this fact. Widow-burning (sati) is still prevalent. Bride-burning,
dowry deaths are a favourite pastime of our upper castes. Our biggest
cities have officially-sanctioned brothels full of women drawn
from the native castes. Devadasi, prostitution sanctioned
by Brahminism, is prevalent even to this day. So also child marriage.
Women, who constitute over 50% of the society, are not given equal
status (Dalit Voice Editorial, April 1, 1987: “Women’s
liberation part of Dalit Movement”).
ENSLAVEMENT OF WOMEN
Only such societies or nations have progressed where the women
are given equal status. It is the woman who is the mother and maker
of the child. She is not a factory that produces children. In the
pre-Aryan tribal society, women enjoyed equal status but the Aryans
reduced the woman to a doormat. India can never become a dynamic
society as long as the woman is not free.
Without the woman’s right and the child’s privileges
India can never hope to become dynamic and progressive. When the
interests of the man and woman merge in the interests of the child,
then only such a society gets a new life and vigour.
From the time of conception to the time of birth, the child is
subject to an environment which has got a great effect on its vigour,
vitality, health and growth.
If ape is the father of man, we should have resembled an ape.
But the evolution of humans make us difficult to believe that our
ancestors were apes. Even the tail has disappeared under the impact
of environment. In other words, the force of heredity is almost
negligible under the impact of environment.
India’s upper castes like their White racists outside believe
that a black man will get only a black child. This is a serious
mental problem created by Brahminism.
HOW SKIN COLOUR CHANGES
Heredity works in a fixed line. But the environment is a changing
force. So the tendency to grow fair will depend on the tendency
of the environment to make man fair-skinned. This is what exactly
happened to the fair-skinned Aryans who came to India.
Today, the Brahmins and other fair-skinned upper castes are getting
darker but the dark-skinned SC/ST/BCs are getting fairer.
This is happening under the impact of environment. Aryan racists
are under the mistaken impression that the genes are unchanging
through ages. They think that an Aryan, or a Black does not lose
his racial characteristic under any environment even after centuries.
RACIAL PURITY
The theories of racial purity are the result of such a biased
view of science. They say some races are pure, some races are superior.
The race that is dominant thinks itself superior, and that all
other races are inferior. India’s racist pigs are worse than
Hitler. They have concocted enough literature to boast of their
racial superiority which in turn means that the natives of India
are impure, morons.
Upper caste writers and journalists, even religious leaders, have
flooded the country with such poisonous literature on their racial
purity, racial superiority.
HOW ROME & GREECE FELL
To maintain this purity, they enforced segregation, segregation
from contact with so-called inferior races, sowing seeds of racial
hatred, conflict, inflicting inhuman violence on the non-Aryan
peoples of India. The Whites did the same thing with the Black
slaves they brought from West Africa. The Whites wanted to maintain
their purity in America. The Aryans wanted to do the same thing
in India. Such a theory of purity can be built only on hatred and
hatred leads to violence. India’s widespread violence (it
is a daily feature) is the result of this hatred. No wonder Amnesty
International has declared India as the world’s most violent
country. Gobineau, an advocate of such a racial purity, suggested
a laboratory for inbreeding to keep the blood pure. Hitler committed
the same fallacy and wanted to keep Germany purely Nordic or Aryan
and to exclude the Jew. American laws of immigration encourages
the migration of Nordic blood and exclude or restrict other racial
elements. Australia has its White policy.
Brahminism is based on the same dangerous ideas of racial superiority.
(Brahminism, V.T. Rajshekar, Dalit Sahitya Akademy-2001).
But there are not only any number of dark-skinned Brahmins but
any number of idiots among them. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a
strong advocate of caste system, which is nothing but racism, could
not convince his own children about this purity and pollution.
History has shown any number of nations soaring to new heights
of glory because of the healthy environment it provided to its
people. The moment a section in it thought itself superior, the
same nation drifted into nothingness again. Rome, Greece, Turkey
are examples for this. They fell because they never understood
the environmental influence but simply slipped into unscientific
superstitions of racial pride.
African Egypt was the world’s first greatest civilization
that flourished for thousands of years when European Greeks and
Romans were at a barbaric level of culture. (Great African
Thinkers, Cheickh Anta Diop, Transaction Books, New Brunswick,
USA, 1986). The Romans and the Greeks in the height of their glory
looked down upon the North Europeans as barbarians but were overrun
by them. Their racial theory never took into consideration the
force of environment in moulding traits of people and nations.
So both Greece and Rome fell. Zionist Jews are doing the same thing
in Palestine and plunged the whole of West Asia in violence.
VAST SLAUGHTER HOUSE
Racist pigs look at everything from the point of view of blood.
They say a Black race can become light coloured only by crossing
with a White race. But in India even such a crossing is prohibited
by the laws of Manu, the Brahmin law-giver, who enforced prohibition
of inter-marriages not only between castes but also between subcastes.
Such a prohibition is given religious sanction. Despite all such
prohibitions, Aryans who were once white, are becoming dark.
Racism is rooted in prejudice and hatred which in turn
is created by fear and insecurity. India’s upper castes
are today suffering from such a serious fear complex. They feel
threatened. That is why they are pouring out one after other
prejudice converting India into a vast slaughter house.
DARWIN’S THEORY
A systematic study of heredity began to be made only after Darwin
advanced the theory of evolution, according to which organic life
came out by descent with variation from pre-existing simple forms
of life. Evolution and heredity are thus closely linked.
“Life has been evolving from simpler forms into more complex
forms. If heredity were the only force to which life is subject,
the apple of the garden, the seedless orange, the edible brinjal,
the domestic types of pigeon, fowls etc. would never have progressed
beyond the stage of one-celled creatures”,
says S. Sundresa Iyer, Advocate, Madras, in his book, How
to Evolve a White race, (Vol.II, p.6, 1934).
It is thought that climate is the cause of man’s colour.
But fair-coloured people are found in tropical regions and coloured
people live in cold regions. In the same regions both fair and
brown races are often found. So temperature and humidity cannot
be the cause of man’s colour.
According to Sundaresa Iyer (1) all naked races are Black. But
all Black or Brown races are not naked. (2) All fair races are
clothed, but all clothed races are not necessarily fair.
Referring to the fact that the fair-skinned Brahmins became dark
after coming to South and getting exposed to sun, Iyer says it
is the environment that decides the colour and not the birth. History
has recorded how groups or nations or races from men have flourished
or fallen under the pressure of their environment, which includes
not merely the geographical factors etc. but the human elements,
namely the contact and clash of neighbouring cultures and civilisations
leading to wars and conquests etc.
Animals and other lower organisms are entirely controlled by the
environment. But in the case of man, he is in a position, big-brained
creature that he is, to meet it with a counter challenges as it
were and modify it in a manner desired by him.
The extent to which a nation understands the pressure of the environment
on it fixes vitality and growth, whether it is prepared or drifting.
So long as that is not clearly understood, any amount of art or
poetry, religious disquisitions, theological dogmas, or racial
arrogance will not save it from decay and extinction.
This is a warning from a Tamil Brahmin. (pp.154-155).
IV - Heart-burning against reservations
For the information of our merit-mongers, we want to say that
(SC/ST/BCs and Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, etc.) form over 85%
of the country’s population and in a democracy the majority
rule. This is the age of democracy and self-rule. Any day self-government
is better than a good government or even an efficient government.
We are tired of this upper caste bogey of “merit” that
reduced this rich country to a beggar nation.
“CHOSEN PEOPLE”
The other upper castes may say that we are duds, dullards, idiots.
Yes. They make fun of us saying that the alphabets NB (Non-Brahmin)
stand for “No Brains”. If we have no brains we are
not ashamed of admitting it. But even the duds, dullards, idiots
and brainless have a right to rule. We may be dullards, idiots
and NBs but we also have self-respect. Self-government is any day
better than a “merited” government.
“To hell with your merit and efficiency”.
This is what the South African Blacks told the “merited
and efficient” Whites lording them over. All those
who want to conquer and colonise the weak use the same argument.
The British ruled over India using the very same argument saying
that the entire Indians had no brains. The Jews say they are the “chosen
people” sent by god to rule over others.
BRAHMIN IMPERIALISM
Civilised people have coined words like “racism”, “apartheid”, “colonialism” to
describe such “merited” people lording over others.
So what we have in India today is upper caste colonialism,
if not Brahminical imperialism.
Bengali-speaking Muslims of East Pakistan got separated to escape
from the merit and efficiency of the Punjabi-speaking
Muslims of West Pakistan and formed Bangladesh.
Did not Tilk, Gandhi and Nehru fight for “Home rule” to
escape from the British “merit and efficiency”?
Did not the British then say that Indians are unfit to rule India?
The upper castes after taking over India from the British are today
outdoing them. Brahmin imperialism has proved worse than British
imperialism. This upper caste “merit” will
only break this country to piece.
GANGA TURNS INTO GUTTER
“Merit” is killing us. It has impoverished the country.
Over 50% of the population has no purchasing power. Another 20%
are existing hand to mouth. The upper caste “merit” is “shining” at
our cost by enslaving us. They keep us in perpetual bondage. They
created child labour, Devadasis, red light districts,
millions of slums.Turned the holy Ganga into gutter.
Even such long-eradicated diseases like malaria, chickenpox and
smallpox have come back.
After reducing 85% of the population to slavery, they say we have
no “merit” and they only have it. Is this an argument?
Does it stand the test of logic? They say SC/ST/BCs must learn
to stand on their own legs. But do the 10% upper castes know how
to stand on their leges? Who is producing all the country’s
food for the 1,000 million population including the pot-bellied
upper castes? Can their women get into fields and do the work of
sowing, weeding and crop-cutting? Who is constructing all the buildings
and mansions in which the upper castes live? Who is building the
dams and canals? Who is going to the high seas and catching fish
which the upper casts eat and enjoy? Who is growing all the fruits
that adorn the dining tables of their houses? The upper castes
cannot survive even for a day without our people who work day and
night without even a holiday on a Sunday. But the upper castes
have all play and no work and yet keep Rs. 1,400 crores in Swiss
bank, indulge in all anti-national work including stealing secrets
from the Prime Minister’s Office. All those involved in the
notorious “Stock market scam” are upper castes led
by Harshad Mehta, a Gujarati Bania. Not a single person involved
in this country’s worst scandal has been punished because
he is an Aryan.
CASTE - BASED RESERVATIONS
Who is sweeping and cleaning the streets and sewage systems in
Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Calcutta, Madras and all other cities?
Who is running the trains, posts and telegraph and telephone system?
Who is supplying water to all the cities? Who is washing the clothes
of all these upper castes? It is our people. If we strike work
even for a day we can choke any city and test the upper caste “merit”.
Can these pot-bellied merited people work in hot sun, cold night
even for one hour? Our bodies have become steel from centuries
of hard labour and yet they have the temerity to say that we have
no “merit and efficiency”, to hell with these meritoc-rats.
Who is working as jawans (soldiers) in the army and guarding
the frontiers of India? Who fought and died in the wars with Pakistan
and China? It is our people. Not only we feed the whole country
but also guard and defend the nation. The upper castes drink, eat
and sleep. Life of unending, ever-lasting pleasure. Yet these drones
have the guts to call us “No Brains”.
Our people are the producers and upper castes are the
consumers. This jealousy, this heart-burning against reservations
will have to stop. If it does not stop, we will get it stopped.
This mindless monopoly of goods and services can be stopped only
through reservations which are our human rights. And we shall
fight till the last drop of our blood.
KRISHNA IYER ON BRAHMIN MERIT
What is the meaning of Varnashrama Dharma? Does it not
give reservations to Brahmins? Who are occupying all the government
posts of archakas (temple priests) in government-owned
temples? Archakas are the gateway to god. They say these
posts are reserved for Brahmins. When Chief Minister N.T. Rama
Rao tried to bring a legislation in Andhra Pradesh to abolish “hereditary
priesthood” and insisted on “merit and efficiency” for
the archaka post, why the Brahmins en masse protested
against it? They want to have the cake and eat it too. For the archaka post
they want reservations exclusively for Brahmins. But in other posts
they don’t want reservations. They want to maintain the Varnashrama
Dharma even in a democratic country where the Constitution
has assured equal treatment to all. Democracy cannot coexist with
Brahminism.
If they want “open competition” to all posts why they
are opposing open competition to archaka post? Whom are
they trying to fool?
Read what Justice Krishna Iyer of the Supreme Court says in the
ABSK Sangh case (1981):
...Trite arguments about efficiency are a trifle phoney... We
are not impressed with the misfortune manned by morons, merely
because a sprinkling of Harijans and Girijans happened
to find their way into the service. The malady of modern India
lies elsewhere, and the merit-mongers are greater risks in many
respects than the native tribals, and the slightly better off
lower castes... The fundamental question arises, as to what is “merit” and “suitability?” Elitists,
whose sympathies with the masses have dried up, are from the standards
of the Indian people, least suitable to run the government and
least meritorious to handle the state business.. A sensitised heart
and vibrant head tuned to the tears of the people, will speedily
quicken the developmental needs of the country... Sincere dedication
and the intellectual integrity — these are some of the components
of merit and suitability — not degree from Oxford or Cambridge,
Harvard or Simian. Unfortunately, the very orientation of our
selection process is distorted and those who like the candidates
from the Scheduled Castes whom from their birth, have a traumatic
understanding of the conditions of agrestic India, have in one
sense more capability than those who lived under affluent circumstances
and are callous to the human lot of the sorrowing masses...”
These observations of an “eminent” judge (Iyer is
a Brahmin from Kerala and when a Brahmin speaks all other Brahmins
nod their heads) are enough to conclude that our heartless bureaucracy
monopolised by the “meritorious” upper castes is ill-suited
to serve the people.
Please note even this Iyer is kind to his jatwalas.
He doesn’t name them. He calls them “elites” and
hides their identity. This is a typical Brahminical mischief.
Who says “merit” means mountains of efficiency? Who
says reservations mean inefficiency? The minimum qualifications
prescribed for a post are enough to produce adequate efficiency
and the minimum qualifications can be upgraded wherever necessary.
JUSTICE CHINNAPPA REDDY’S PLEA
Justice Chinnappa Reddy of the Supreme Court says (Dalit Voice Jan.16,
1987: “The myth of merit and efficiency”)
the upper castes raise the question of “merit and efficiency” whenever
reservations to SC/ST/BCs and minorities are mentioned:-
“There is no statistical basis or expert evidence to support
the assumption that efficiency will be impaired if reservation
is continued or if reservation exceeds a certain percentage or
even reservation is extended to promotional posts”.
MANDAL COMMISSION OPINION
The Mandal Commission appointed by the Government of India in
its report (1980) has ridiculed this dangerous upper caste theory
of “merit and efficiency”. It says:
“Nothing generates so much heat and genuine indignation
as the concept of “merit”. Whereas nobody objects to
the grant of special educational facilities and various other concessions
to the Backward Classes, the provisions of a reserved quota in
educational institutions or services for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes or Other Backward Classes provokes sharp reaction. The advocates
of “merit” find it very unfair when a depressed class
student securing 45% marks gets admission to a medical college
in preference to a student from the general quota obtaining 70%
marks. The resentment is much greater when a lower ranked Backward
Class competitor is selected in preference to a much higher ranked
general quota counterpart to an all-India Service.
“This sort of reaction is based on two considerations: First,
it hurts person’s sense of fair play to see that a more “meritorious” candidate
has been left out in preference to a less “meritorious” person
on purely extraneous grounds. Secondly it is argued, that by selecting
candidates with lower “merit” against reserved quota
vacancies, the nation is being deprived of the services of the
best talent that is available to it.
FALLACY OF MERIT MANTRA
This line of argument, though plausible on the face of it, suffers
from serious fallacy regarding the nature of “merit”.
We shall try to illustrate this point by a homely example. Mohan
comes from a fairly well-off middle-class family and both his parents
are well-educated. He attends one of the good public schools in
he city which provides a wide range of extracurricular activities.
At home, he has a separate room to himself and he is assisted in
his studies by both the parents. There is a television and a radio
set in the house and his father also subscribes to a number of
magazines. In the choice of his studies and finally, his career,
he is continuously guided by his parens and his teachers. Most
of his friends are of similar background and he is fully aware
of the nature of the highly competitive world in which he will
have to carve a suitable place for himself. Some of his relations
are fairly influential people and he can bank on the right sort
of recommendation or push at the right moment.
VILLAGE BOY LALLU
On the other hand, Lallu is a village boy and his Backward Class
parents occupy a low social position in the village caste hierarchy.
His father owns a 4-acre plot of a agricultural land. Both his
parents are illiterate and his family of 8 lives huddled in a two-room
hut. Whereas a primary school is located in his village, for his
high school he had to walk a distance of nearly three kilometers
both ways. Keen on pursuing higher studies, he persuaded his parents
to send him to an uncle at the Tehsil headquarters. He never received
any guidance regarding the course of studies to be followed or
the career to be chosen. Most of his friends did not study beyond
middle school level. He was never exposed to any stimulating cultural
environment and he completed his college education without much
encouragement from any quarter. Owing to his rural background,
he has a rustic appearance. Despite his college education, his
pronunciation is poor, his manners awkward and he lacks self-confidence.
Assuming that Mohan and Lallu had the same level of intelligence
at the time of their birth, it is obvious that owing to vast differences
in social cultural and environmental factors, the former will beat
the latter by lengths in any competitive field. Even if Lallu’s
intelligence quotient was much higher as compared to Mohan, chances
are that the former will lag far behind the latter in any competition
where selection is made on the basis of “merit”.
EQUALITY NOT BETWEEN UNEQUALS
Let us suppose that both of them sit for the All-Indian Services
Examination and Mohan secures 50% more marks than Lallu. Does it
mean that Mohan’s merit is 50% higher than that of Lallu,
or that, he will be 50% more efficient than that village boy? Is
it possible to determine that, in view of their respective native
intelligences, how these boys would have fared in case they had
exchanged places?
If merit also includes grit, determination, ability to fight odds,
etc. should not the marks obtained by Mohan and Lallu be suitably
moderated in view of the privileges enjoyed by the former and the
handicaps suffered by the latter?
HOW PEOPLE BECOME RICH?
In fact, what we call “merit” in an elitist society
is an amalgam of native endowments and environmental privileges.
Mohan and Lallu are not “equals” in any fair sense
of the term and it will be unfair to judge them by the same yardstick.
The conscience of a civilized society and the dictates
of social justice demand that “merit” and “equality” are
not turned into a fetish and the element of privilege is duly
recognized and discounted for when “unequals” are
made to run the same race.”
Mandal Commission Report — not yet fully implemented — gives
the above beautiful example to call the bluff of “merit and
efficiency”.
The upper castes fattened themselves by drinking our blood. Look
who are those people suffering from over-weight? Are there anybody
from the SC/ST/BCs and minorities? Even if there are, they are
only an exception. They have become rich by looting our people.
They have made landed property by stealing ours. “Merit ” is
nothing but fooling our people by denial and deprivations. Their “merit” is
used to destroy the society. Whereas the “No-Brains” used
their mind and body to build and reconstruct the society. Which
is easier? Destruction or construction?
GUJARAT GENOCIDE
Nobody can become rich without stealing from others. But after
stealing, robbers also quarrel. But their quarrel is only about
sharing the loot. In looting they are all together. Our upper castes
are exactly like those robbers. They all think alike and act alike
in opposing our reservations. In the two bloody “caste wars” they
launched in Gujarat (1981 and 1985) they jointly attacked SC/ST/BCs
and Muslims in the name of Gandhi, their guru. One jagadguru hates
another jagadguru as one Aryan god fights another god.
The upper castes are terribly divided. But if they are united on
one thing it is on reservations. They are all united in opposing
reservations. Brahmins, Baniya and Patels were all one in killing
Muslims in the Gujarat Genocide-2002.
Reservations will not only assure equitable distribution of power
but also put a stop to the war between the upper castes. We are
prepared to assure them reservations in proportion to their population.
JOB RESERVATION IN AMERICA
Reservations are not unique to India alone. The US Supreme Court
in a historic ruling (Hindu, March 28, 1987) said that
employers may promote women and minorities ahead of White males — giving
an extra push for Blacks and women where they are under-represented
in jobs traditionally held by White men only. Earlier (June 28,
1987), the Supreme Court of USA upheld reservations for Blacks
in US Government services in what is called as the “Bakke
Case” (American center, New Delhi Publication).
POONA PACT
So, the USA, where our upper castes have their heart, itself has
reservations not only in appointments but also in promotions including
in private sector. But in India the upper castes have used the
Supreme Court itself to deny our reservations (human rights).
Our upper castes have their body in India but heart in America.
They like everything American. They are great admirers of the American “free
society”. They have their closest relatives in America. But
America despite all its “open competition” and “merit
and efficiency” believes in reservations.
DALITS ARE NOT HINDU
Reservations are not charities given by anybody. It was the result
of the “Poona Pact” between the “nation” of
upper castes (Aryans) and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, who represented
the nation of 85% of the oppressed population comprising the non-Aryan
original inhabitants of India.
Reservations recognise the fact that SC/ST/BCs and minorities
are different entities or a separate “nation” and
they must be recognised as such. So, reservations are our human
rights.
Justice Chinnappa Reddy of the Supreme Court said (in the Railways
case, 1981):
“Therefore, we see that when the posts... are reserved..
to members of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other
socially and economically Backward Classes it is not a concession
or privilege extended to them, it is in the recognition of their
undoubted fundamental right to equality of opportunity and... to
secure to all its citizens, justice, social, economic and political
and equality of status and opportunity... to ensure their participation
on an equal basis in the administration of the country... Every
lawful method is permissible to secure the due representation of
SCs and STs in the public services”.
SUPREME COURT REVERSES VERDICT
But, alas, the Supreme Court since then reversed all these
landmark judgments on human rights and favoured the upper castes.
(Judicial Terrorism, V.T. Rajshekar & Iqbal Ahmed
Shariff, DSA-2005),
The reservations also recognise the fact that SC/ST/BCs are not
Hindu and they are a separate element.
Under the Chaturvarna principle that governs Hinduism,
there is no caste called “Scheduled Caste”. By coining
this new caste the Aryans (upper castes) are trying to create a
new caste and assimilate us by dumping us in the boiling caste-cauldron.
Before the British gave us the name of “Scheduled Castes”,
our people were called “Depressed Classes”. Before
that, we were known by our own hundreds of tribal names. All these
were lumped under the name of “Scheduled Castes” and “Backward
Castes”.
UNTOUCHABLES ARE NOT SHUDRAS
But we belong to no “caste” because we were outcastes —meaning
we are outside the caste. We are a casteless people because before
the Aryans invaded and plundered our egalitarian society, we had
no caste. What is today called “caste” is our ethnic
identity.
Caste is a Hindu institution. The moment we belong to a “caste” or
admit that we are shudras, we become part of Hindu religion.
Because it is only the Hindus who have the chaturvarna,
the four-fold caste system of (1) Brahmin, (2) Kshatriya, (3) Vaishya
and (4) shudra.
That means shudras are the fourth-grade fellows of the
Brahminical Social Order.
The moment we say we are shudra (meaning illegal
children from the concubines of Brahmins - in other words bastards),
we become part of the BSO (Hindu). We are not bastards. SC/ST/BCs
know their parents. How then we can be shudra? We are
neither shudras nor Hindus.
Reservations by recognising this fact that we are not Hindu have
accepted our claim as a distinct entity — other than the
Hindu. That means like Muslims, Christians and Sikhs, SC/ST/BCs
are a distinct ethnic identity. (Caste — A
Nation Within the Nation, V.T. Rajshekar, Books for Change,
2001). It is high time we launch an aggressive agitation to be
classified as a separate non-Hindu identity.
“POOR” BRAHMINS
The upper caste heart bleeds for the “poor”. But the
caste-based reservations do not recognise the fact of “poverty”.
But they say there are any number of “poor Brahmins”.
Yes. We agree. If the rich Brahmins are so much concerned about
the “poor” among them, why the Woodlands Hotel proprietor,
in Madras and Bangalore, who employes only “poor” Brahmin “cooks”,
is not transferring at least some among his chain of hotels in
India to his “poor” caste-bothers? The rich Brahmin,
his heart bleeding, is not interested in the poor Brahmin. But
the caste arrogance and pride even in the “poor” Brahmin
blinds him to see through this crooked game of his rich caste brother.
No “poor” Brahmin is interested in fighting the rich
Brahmin. TVS Motors, Madras, employs lots of “poor” Brahmins
but has any poor employee of the TVS revolted against his employer?
The problem of India is not poverty — even the poverty of
the “poor” Brahmin. The Untouchables have never complained
that they are suffering from poverty. Their complaint is that their
human rights are denied. Reservations are expected to fill the
gap. So, through reservations they are fighting only for their
human rights. Once we regain our human rights through reservations,
we automatically become rich. That means those who fight against
reservations in the name of “merit” are opposing our
human rights are anti-human because they want to keep us “poor” and
oppressed.
This is our reply to anti-reservation racists.
