Lalu flying high in Bihar
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore DV has repeated umpteen
times that caste decides everything in India. Every caste has understood
the importance
of this fact and
the need to strengthen its "caste identity".
During elections,
caste comes to the top because parliamentary democracy that is
taking roots in India, though slowly, has no other ideology
except "casteology".
North India is facing Assembly
elections in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana of which Bihar is the
most important
for all parties. In
this state,
ruled by Lalu Prasad Yadav Ñ intensely hated by the Brahminical
forces Ñ nothing works but caste. And caste is in favour
of Lalu.
DV proves right on George Fernandes As
all others except Lalu's RJD are upper caste parties, the Hindu
nazi RSS itself
has predicted
victory for Lalu (Asian Age, Jan.4, 2004 "Lalu may win by
default").
The Congress support base is Brahmins and Bumihars. BJP base
is also the same. The upper caste candidates of Congress, BJP
and
its allies
will divide upper caste votes helping RJD which is a powerful
combination of Yadavas, Muslims and some Dalits who constitute
the majority
voters.
Poor George Fernandes, the Mangalorean
Gowda Saraswat Brahmin-convert to Christianity, is in a soup for
the first time.
His love
for Hindu nazis has revealed his true colour. All his socialist
makeup
is washed
out. His own community hates him.
Press people say George is "Delhi's richest politician".
Tehelka has exposed all his socialism. CBI noose is also
tightening. The Hindu nazi party of BJP has also badly let
him down. George
of the "Baroda dynamite" fame has finally proved
to be a total fake. DV proves right.
Church cheated George
Fernandes played one of the most dangerous
roles in Indian politics. Despite being a Christian, he
betrayed his community
and the church which played such a leading role in liberating
the Dalits. As a socialist he deceived his mentor, Dr.
Ram Manohar Lohia, and confused
all Lohia followers. He became the pointsman of Vaidik
Vajpayee who used him to promote Brahminical interests. In Bihar,
he divided Kurmi
leader Nitish Kumar from Lalu Prasad Yadav and went all
out
to help Brahminical forces. But the only person who saw
through the
game
of George and cut him to size was Lalu Prasad Yadav. The
final fall of
George has begun.

Paswan fails to impress Bihar Dalits
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore Ram Vilas Paswan like
Jagjivan Ram is a Dalit leader manufactured by the Brahminical
forces to divide
Dalits.
He has done his job fairly
well. The "national" toilet papers give him
full publicity because he is their man. Such "leaders" are
planted in different states, districts and right down.
But the masses of Dalits will never
go with such stooges.
Soroor Ahmed, a noted journalist
from Patna, commenting on the political ambitions
of ram Vilas Paswan says
that Mayawati
and
not Lalu Prasad
is his real rival.
In his article in the Radiance
Weekly of Jan.2-8, 2005, he says Ram Vilas knew that he could
not survive
alone.
So he
gradually
started
softening his stand towards the Congress and Lalu
Prasad. By early 2004 he even entered into an electoral
alliance.
It was
essentially
the Lalu factor which helped him win four out of
eight Lok Sabha seats his four-year old Lok Janshakti
Party
contested.
The relatively affluent Chamars first under the
leadership of Kanshi Ram and then Mayawati grew
politically
very powerful by
1990s.
The Kanshi Ram-Mayawati phenomenon started spreading
in Madhya Pradesh
and Maharashtra too as the recent elections suggested.
The greatest loser was none else but Ram Vilas
Paswan, whose
Dalit Sena almost
went into extinction.

BIG VICTORY FOR D.V. THESIS IN KARNATAKA
Pejawara swami provokes Kuruba mass uprising & helps
caste consolidation
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore We thank the top Hindu nazi
leader, the Pejawara Swamy of Udupi, for provoking Karnataka's single
largest
Backward Caste
of Kurubas (the shepherds), forming about 10% of the state population,
and forcing them to unite in a tremendous show of "caste identity".
About
6 lakhs Kurubas descended on Bangalore on Jan.7, 2005 to show their
strength and unity. This was the first and the greatest
experiment
in the caste consolidation of the oppressed Kurubas.
All this was made possible because this Brahmin swami made them
caste conscious and this consciousness made them angry and this
anger brought
them to Bangalore.
We sincerely thank the Pejawara for whipping up the sleeping slaves.
The Editor of Dalit Voice was an eye-witness to this historic caste
consolidation of Kurubas.
Pejawara going Kanchi way The
Pejawara swami, heading a Madhwa Mutt of Udupi on the coastal Karnataka,
is a tremendous hate-monger
almost
on par with the Kanchi Frankenstein just released on bail from
the Vellore jail. Those who have been observing the pranks of the
Pejawara Ñ meddling
in the lives of innocent Dalits, BCs, Muslims and Christians and
everybody else to save his vaidik vampire Ñ say that he
is fast following the Kanchi culprit. Good.
Docile Kurubas whipped
up But for the Pejawara's mischief of demolishing the over 400
year-old monument at Udupi's Krishna Temple on Aug.17,
2004, the docile Kurubas would not have become angry. The monument
is called Kanaka Gopura named after the greatest saint-poet of
the Kuruba jati, Kanaka Dasa.
Fighting cock Like all Hindu
nazi hate-mongers, the Pejawara is a big fighting cock. Our Editor
had
several clashes with him. However,
the credit goes to this ageing Madhwa Brahmin for waking up the
sleeping
Kurubas, who despite having the strength of population (third
largest in Karnataka after Lingayats and Vokkaligas) could not produce
a chief minister till now.
Siddaramaiah, who is the Dy. CM now,
has been missing it by an inch every time only because his jati
is too docile, too good,
too poor
and yet too much hinduised (enslaved). This is the problem.
The
Pejawar and his pariwar are well aware of the Kuruba weaknesses.
Otherwise, how could the Kurubas with such a massive strength
of population and their man as Dy CM, keep quiet when another
notorious
Brahmin Krishna Bhat, publicly insulted the whole community
of Kurubas by saying the "Kurubas were behaving like sheep".
If such an insult had been done to Lingayats or Vokkaligas
would they have
tolerated it?
No self-respecting jati would allow such an insult
to go unpunished. But the Kurubas displayed their weakness
when they begged the
govt. to take action against this Bhat instead of taking the
direct action.
Kurubas interested in caste not
Hinduism Be that
as it may, we are happy that the poverty-stricken Kurubas are
slowly waking
up and
the Pejawara has ignited their caste pride. But the demolition
of the Kanaka Gopura has proved one thing the Kurubas are not interested
in their Hinduism. Between Hinduism
and their jati, they prefer the latter. To that extent the Pejawara
has
helped the Kurubas to make a distinction between their imposed
religion, which they finally found to be false, and their permanent
identity
(caste). (V.T. Rajshekar Caste ÑÊA Nation Within
the Nation, Books for Change, 2004).
Nobody else gets the credit
for helping the Kurubas to go back to their roots and recover
their lost "caste identity" other
than the Pejawara and his pariwar. We must thank them.
Credit to Viswanath However,
we have to give the second credit to ex-minister H. Viswanath, who
did
tremendous ground work touring
the whole state and whipping up the sleeping slaves of his jati.
The Pejawara's demolition of Kanaka Gopura no doubt brought an
initial
shock to the Kurubas but the Udupi Brahmins managed to douse
the anger by their usual vaidik tricks. It was Brother Viswanath
who
poured petrol to the burning anger and gave a shape to this anger
which finally culminated in the Karnataka's biggest Kuruba uprising.
Wonderful.
Carry a stick in hand Yet, Brother Viswanath and the
Kuruba leaders who had a long meeting with our Editor in the Dalit
Voice office
sometime back, were hesitant to follow his advice. The Kurubas
who came in lakhs to Bangalore to show their strength failed
to carry
a stick in their hands. If they had carried a stick for self-protection
it would have been a proof of their anger. And the Pejawara
would have then simply pissed in his pant.
Nor did Viswanath or any
leader at the Jan.7 conference gave a call to the Kurubas to march
to Udupi carrying bricks and
simply rebuild
the broken Kanaka Gopura. Why beg the govt. to rebuild the
monument? No govt. belongs to the oppressed people in India.
That day has
not come.
Keep the pot boiling The Kurubas may have justice
on their side, numbers on their side, law on their side, history
on
their sideÑ but
unless they adopt proper strategies and tactics, the wily
vaidik vultures would simply swallow them.
"
Masses are asses. What we want is classes", said Lenin. The
Kurubas have everything they want but not the anger which
generates the pride in their jati. The anger that is generated
now should
not be allowed to cool down. The pot must be kept boiling.
We are here
to assist the Kurubas to regain their lost position in
society.
There is a silver lining in the cloud. The Pejawara
is simply hitting back. Even after the entire state govt.,
and the
people of Karnataka
publicly condemned the Pejawara's action, he is challenging
the govt. and refusing to be silenced. He is bent upon
keeping the
fire burning.
This is a good sign. That is why we like vaidik leaders
like Pejawara who sharpen the contradictions and provoke
our people.
That is
what we want. Because the Kuruba struggle for justice has
to go a long
way.
Stop begging govt. The Kurubas must stop begging the
govt. They must note that the govt. even if headed by BCs cannot
be a govt.
for BCs.
Every govt. is a puppet in the hands of the upper castes.
Intellectuals among Kurubas must note that their current
struggle cannot be restricted to Kanaka Gopura. It is
a "caste struggle" to
regain their lost place in society. Caste struggle is
not a political struggle. It is a socio-cultural revolution.
If left to political
leaders, they will not be able to launch such a revolution
which involves challenging the upper castes. Vote politics
has a limit.
For revolution, sky is the limit.
So, the Kurubas must
now march to Udupi with stick in their hands and bricks
on their heads and simply rebuild
the
Gopura. We will
also join the Kurubas.

Madhwas snatched Udupi temples from Shaivas
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore The entire Udupi temple complex is a Shaiva
religious centre which the Madhwa Brahmins have forcibly annexed
in the 16th or 17th
century.
The Kuruba leaders agitating for the govt. take over
of the Udupi temple and rebuilding of the demolished Kanaka Gopura
have
missed
this very important weapon which we supplied them to fight the
Pejawara swami and his Madhwa battalion.
The weapon is a vital
historical document which we produced at the Mysore seminar on
Kanaka Gopura on Oct.27, 2004 and read
out portions
from it.
Brahma Hatya The document (100 pages in Kannada) written
by a Brahmin only, Dr. M.S. Achuta Sharma, was published in 1969
but
the Pejawara
and his pariwar purchased all the copies and destroyed it
then itself. Here lies the strength in Kuruba argument and the weakness
of the
Pejawara protestations.
A noted Brahmin leader of Udupi supplied
a photocopy of the document to a DV family member. In this document,
the author
has directly
challenged the Pejawara swami.
The temple complex belongs
to the Sringeri Mutt headed by a Shankarachari who will be too
willing to help the
Kuruba
struggle.
They have
to take the support of the Sthanika Brahmins who were
then heading the
Udupi Shaiva temples and are today silently suffering.
The Sthanika Brahmins who resisted the Madhwa aggression
were
killed (Brahma
Hatya) by the Madhwas, as per the document.
THE KERALA "LUNATiC ASYLUM"
Nair-Ezhava "unity" move to check Muslim & Christian
progress
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore Earlier they saved their Hinduism by
fooling the non-Hindu indigenous people through marxism and today
the same forces in Kerala
want to directly use Hinduism to save their rulership.
Many people in India and outside may think that Kerala, on the
west-coast southern tip of India, is a highly literate, clean and
efficiently
working state of Malayalees. All these may be true to a large extent
but what is hidden from outsiders is that Kerala is ruled by a
micro-minority of highly caste-conscious racist Brahmins and Nairs.
WHAT
VIVEKANANDA SAID
Vivekananda as he walked through Kerala called it a lunatic asylum.
And it continues to be so even to this day.
The ruling Brahmin and shudra Nairs this time have roped in the
oppressed Ezhavas, the Backward toddy-tapper caste considered Untouchables
till recently. It was the revolutionary Sri Narayana Guru, who
liberated
the Ezhavas, Kerala's single largest community forming about 30%
of the state population.
HEINOUS ROLE OF E.M.S.
Sri Narayana revolted against Brahmins and established his own
Shiva temple all over Kerala with Ezhava priests. Yet the Brahmins
could
not be defeated.
They gradually managed to fool the oppressed Ezhavas by using
the marxist mantra. The innocent Ezhavas simply fell flat though
the
community was never allowed to occupy the chief minister's chair.
The person responsible for fooling the Ezhavas and making monkeys
out of this innocent but unthinking community is the "Modern
Shankara", EMS Namboodiripad.
Today, the same Ezhava leadership under their apex jati organisation,
SNDP Yogam, headed by its general secretary, Velupillai Natesan,
is all-out to embrace the very Hinduism which pushed his Ezhava
jati to slavery.
The Brahmana Jati Party (BJP) is weak in Kerala because its job
is being effectively carried out by the state's two neatly divided
political
fronts ÑÊthe Congress-led UDF and the Marxist-led
LDF. The beauty is both the fronts are united in keeping the
Brahmin-Nair rulership in tact.
ROLE OF SYRIANS
The Syrian Christians, who claim Brahmin descent, are fully with
the ruling class. Their hand-picked man Oommen Chandy is now
the Chief Minister of Kerala.
The latest strategy of the Brahmin-Nair ruling clique is to "unite
the Hindus" against Muslims and Christians by rousing "anti-minority" hatred.
Syrians may be Christians but they never confront the Brahmins.
Because blood is thicker than water.
ISLAM, CHRISTIANITY LIBERATED
DALITS
Kerala has 25% Muslims and another 25% Christians.
These Muslims and Christians did not come from Arabia or Rome. They
are
converts
from the indigenous SC/ST/BCs who quit "Hinduism" unable
to bear Hindu persecution. Both Islam and Christianity liberated
the Dalits, Tribals and BCs of Kerala. So, the Brahminical
efforts to "unite" Hindus will not succeed. Before "uniting" the
Hindus, they must first clarify who is a Hindu.
Dalits, who
today are badly divided and leaderless, have been always
slaves. And their slavery will continue. What
is puzzling
is the
Ezhava leadership decision to fall into the Brahmin-Nair
trap even when every Ezhava in Kerala remember how they persecuted
Sri Narayana
Guru. The poor guru is weeping in his Sivagiri samadhi.
Ò HINDU UNITYÓ
Manjoor Gopalan from Kanakkary (686 532) adds
The BJP wants to capture power in Kerala where it doesn't have
a single MLA. The UDF and the LDF rule Kerala alternatively.
The BJP wants a third front by taking rebels from both the fronts. The
Nair Service Society of the Nairs is actively behind this third
front
move.
P.K. Narayana Panicker of NSS and Vellappally Natesan of
the SNDPY advocate the need for "Hindu unity".
Natesan speaking at a Nair meeting at Changanacherry said
"
Unity among the various castes of Hindus is the need of the hour...
The situation is such that the minorities could swallow the majority.
We have only two options Ð either succumb to conversion or commit
suicide... If we are able to do away with the differences within
the Hindu community, then there will be no communal and religious
tension" (Hindu, Jan.1, 2005).
The Hindu nazi agenda is to check the progress of Christians
and Muslims. They are instigating Ezhavas and Dalits against
Muslims
and Christians saying they are cornering all benefits in
the name of "minorities". They have just succeeded
in ousting the powerful Muslim Minister Kunhialikutty of
the Muslim League.
The Nairs and Brahmins are the two most hated jatis because
they constitute the core exploiters. The BJP strategy is
to divert
this anger from the core group against the minorities.
CAT & RAT
UNITY
Will Vellappally Natesan succeed? How will he take away
his Ezhavas who are dedicated members of the CPM?
The Ezhavas, being a Backward Caste, stand for job reservation
but the Nairs being upper castes are against such a caste-based
reservation.
Nairs want income- based reservation. The Nairs are also
the oppressors of the Ezhavas. The cat and rat cannot make
friendship
with each
other. How can the enemies join together?
The Nair-Ezhava unity will never be practical. At the same
time the Christians and Muslims are under the control of
their religious
leaders.
As a result, separate political parties have been formed
in Kerala for each religion. The Kerala Congress (M.Jacob,
Joseph)
and
the Muslim League are examples. Without the support of
these political
parties no government can be formed here. Hindus in Kerala
are a conglomeration of hundreds of jatis. They have different
modes
of
beliefs and style of life. There is no unity among the
different "Hindu" jatis.
They are more interested in their jati than their religion.
RELIGION
DOES NOT UNITE
Religion does not bind a people but creates only harmony
for participating in the religious functions. Dr. Ambedkar
said
"
But here again there are limits to what religion can do. Religion
can help to produce justice within a community. Religion cannot produce
justice between communities... The call of nation and the call of
community has proved more powerful than the call of religion for
justice. " (W&S, Vol.5, p.398).
Our Editor said
"
Ethnic pull is more powerful than any religion and there is no
such religion in the world which can weld different communities
together.
Even revolutionary Islam, which normally transforms a person
after conversions, remains a house divided. Pakistan, called
an Islamic
republic, is the best example." (Caste A Nation Within
the Nation, p.81).
The Hindu nazis want to use anti-Muslim
hatred to unite the SC/ST/BCs in the name of "Hindu
unity". Such a
Brahminical trick has to be viewed seriously by the oppressed
classes.
BLOCKOUT OF EDITORÕS BOOK
These forces want to blackout our Editor's book, Caste ÑÊA
Nation Within the Nation. The "intellectuals" among the
Hindu nazis know that this book has the potential to unite the people.
They have carefully studied the book which exposed the "Hindu
unity" tactics".
Our Editor said
"
The most important point to be seriously noted by intellectuals
among the Bahujans is that our Aryan enemy is extremely worried
over our
theory of caste identity. It is worried because this
caste identity theory will never be able to keep the SC/ST/BCs
together under its
control in the name of Hinduism/Hindutva, Hindu nationalism
and Hindu unity". (Ibid p.75).
The alarming development of
the alliance between the Nairs and the Ezhavas in Kerala has
to be viewed very
seriously
and has
to be opposed
vehemently. This can be done by strengthening our "caste
identity".
We should strengthen each caste and caste
organisations because caste is good but casteism is
bad. The present
alliance between
the Nairs
and the Ezhavas in Kerala will be a threat to the unity
among the SC/ST/BCs. DV Nov.16, 2002 p.5 "Brahminism swallows marxism" & p.21 "Manuwadi

SEPARATE tsunami RELIEF CENTRE FOR T.N. DALITS
Selective criticism of casteism is a Brahminic mischief
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Bangalore The Indian Express has suddenly fallen
in love with Dalits. It finds fault with the Tamil Nadu Govt. for "dividing
the people caste-wise" for the Tsunami relief work. But the
same Marwadi-owned but Brahmin-run daily defended the notorious
Kanchi Swami when he
segregated the Dalits from Brahmins at a temple feeding service.
When Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy resigned from the Congress, India's
original Brahmin party, for the party leaders refusal to allow
common dining
for Brahmins and
Dalits, he was subjected to ruthless attack for
criticising the Brahmins.
All temples in India practice racism even today. But no Brahmin
criticises it. In each and every village of India caste segregation
is strictly
enforced. Since India is the original home of racism, caste discrimination
is taken for granted.
Separate Dalit hostels The different state
govts. running common hostels for "poor" students came
under heavy criticism from Dalit leaders because the Dalit students
faced serious discrimination
in such hostels.
Many time they had go without food. That is why
they demanded separate hostels for Dalit students. The Govt. agreed
and the common hostel
practice was discontinued. Separate hostel for Dalits managed by
Dalit officials was found satisfactory.
The upper caste people hate
dining with Dalits. But when the Backward Caste people who consider
themselves Hindu, though not Hindus in
fact, follow Hindu customs they step in and create all sorts
of juicy stories. The Nagapattinam story by the Indian Express reporter
Rajiv
P.I. is one such attempt to divide the Bahujans. The Brahmins
are
experts in divide and rule. Some Dalits succumb to this mischief
and play into their hands.
Tamil Nadu has become a successful
playground for such Brahminical forces because the Dravidian, Tamil
Nationalist parties and followers
of Periyar have failed to follow the example of Periyar.
All these forces are headed by the shudras and Backward Castes
who have forgotten Periyar and elected the notorious Bangalore
Papatti.
The Brahminical forces are exploiting this situation ÑÊnot
out of love for Dalits but to keep the Dalits and BCs divided.
The
Indian Express story is a good example of fishing in the troubled
waters.
The Nagapatttinam sub-collector Umanath has said caste division
is a fact of life. The sub-collector did not invent the caste
system.
Caste system naturally divides people and generates
distrust. He only stated the fact that caste is a fact of life.
If
he had not
arranged exclusive relief operations for Dalits, they would
have got nothing. So segregation was done in the interest
of Dalits.
That does not mean he was defending the caste system.
Discrimination
is must The point is as long as caste system is alive caste-wise
census operation, caste certificates,
caste-wise reservations,
caste-wise allocations of funds, separate Dalit hostels
are inevitable.
If caste-wise attention is not paid, the weakest caste
(Dalit) will be in danger.
We have found some urban-based Dalits criticising the TN
govt. for "discriminating" against
the Dalits in Tsunami relief. Their criticisms got wide
publicity in Brahminical toilet papers. DV family members
should see through
this Brahminical game.
Identify enemy Untouchability is
an essential part of life in India. In Bihar, Maithili
Brahmins do not dine with
Bumihar Brahmins.
Chitpavan Brahmins don't get services of other Brahmin
priests as they are
considered inferior. Racism is a rampant Indian disease.
When
this is the reality, there is no point in selectively criticising
caste discrimination. This pick and choose
criticism is to divert
our attention from the originator of the racism.
The most
important factor in a war is identifying the "principal
enemy". Who is the principal enemy in India? Leaving
aside the originators and the principal perpetrators
of racism Ðwho are
the principle enemy ÑÊif we go on attacking
the non-antagonistic enemy, we will be defeating ourselves.
And the result is brothers
fighting brothers.
That does not mean we are defending
the TN Govt. action at Ngapattinam.
Sudden Brahminical love for Dalits
Nagapattinam Doors are being slammed in the face
of Dalit survivors here and the govt. is quietly doing some of
the slamming. Dalits
from 63 affected villages are facing the brunt of the powerful
Meenavar fishermen (a most Backward Class) being thrown out of
relief camps,
pushed to the rear of food and water lines, not being allowed to
take water from UNICEF facilities and in some cases not even being
allowed to use the toilet. The Govt. instead of ensuring justice,
was reinforcing this divide, both caste and communal. In fact,
a day after the killer waves struck and thousands began pouring
into
these camps, revenue officials were asked to quietly go about dividing
the victims and report to their superiors. They were asked to see
that the numerically powerful and politically significant Meenavars
had their exclusive relief camps. The equally battered Muslims,
Dalits, Nadars, Pillais, Devars and other lower castes mostly non-fishermen
were shunted into camps of their own. This has since been accomplished
in most parts of this district.
When asked how the govt. could endorse
this discrimination, Nagapattinam
sub-collector Dr. Umanath said that this was a conscious decision
and a practical one. There are the real divisions and destruct
among the communities, he told the Indian Express on Jan.7. A
crisis like
this is no time to experiment with casteist and religious amity.
The govt., he said, just could not risk putting them up all together.
When asked what the risk was Umanath declined to comment.
(Indian Express, Jan.8, 2005).
