Bangalore: Despite India remaining the world’s most
populous and vibrant democracy, freedom of religion is steadily
on the decline, says John Dayal, a journalist-turned- Christian
activist, who is now national president of the 1919-founded All
India Catholic Union and secretary-general of the All India Christian
Council .
“Many of the rights have been systematically diluted over
the years by governments, courts and fundamentalist forces,” Dayal
told Ecumenical News International in an interview on Oct.13 about
his soon-to-be- released book on religious freedom in India.
A Matter of Equity: Freedom of Faith in Secular India,
is a critique of religious freedom in the country. Dayal says that
this freedom, or lack of it, ranges from the steady dilution of
constitutional guarantees to harsh treatment meted out to Christians
and minorities in every corner of the country.
The book is a collection of articles Dayal wrote both as a journalist,
and after he became outspoken on issues concerning India’s
Christian community. In his writings, Dayal describes a steady
upsurge in anti-Christian violence from the late 1990s, when the
Hindu terrorist party (BJP) emerged as a strong political force.

Brahminists glorify Kamasutra & suppress women to
keep male hegemony

Due to the ongoing extremely potent Manuwadi patriarchal
Brahminical assault on women, Hindu upper caste women are becoming
even more sexually frustrated and confused. Till every recently,
I too used to blindly believe, unconsciously of course, that any
woman can get sex any time they want, just like any crude male
chauvinist. But that is simply not the case. Indian males have
got prostitutes to go to. But average women cannot afford upmarket
gigolos or metrosexual male prostitutes who service women. They
simply go mad and end up in mental asylums, especially when their
husbands are working in the Gulf.
BRAHMIN AFRAID OF FEMALE LIBIDO
I am not joking or exaggerating. Indian women are much more sexually
frustrated and have no access to sex like we males think. In fact, “middle
class” women are afraid of sexual blackmail if they have
casual sex with someone. Indian women are so sexually repressed
that they become demented and suffer from all sorts of psychological
problems and neuroses due the Brahminical patriarchal system and
its extreme repression of female sexuality. The Indian woman is
full of sexual superstition. Even Brahmin women end up suffering,
despite being economically privileged and educated. A Bengali Brahmin
woman told me that since she had a very high libido and could not
indulge in excesses, her father asked her to get out. This kind
of barbarism is caused by Brahminical patriarchy. Brahminism is
afraid of the female libido. But the Bahujans are not scared of
it. Periyar E.V.R. clearly said that the so-called “virginity” is
a curse on women and he was absolutely right. Mahatma Phule had
to save pregnant Brahmin unwed mothers from committing suicide.
Clearly, nothing has changed. Unless we burn out and destroy this
fundamental contradiction of Brahminical barbarism root, branch,
seed and pollen, nothing will change or improve for our women.
So there is dire need for a genuine Dalit revolutionary feminism. Dalit
Voice must help bring down the repressive superstructure of
this Manuwadi mental asylum.
VAIDIKs FEAR SEX
The horrific effects of Brahminism on the female sexual psyche
has not been exposed by any Hindu or Brahminical psychoanalyst,
psychiatrist or sexologist so far and has been kept a secret even
from the West. It is considered such a great secret, that it is
not even privately whispered among Manuwadis themselves.
Perhaps only Sudhir Kakkar, trained under Anna Freud in Vienna,
has alluded to this very indirectly as caste and hierarchy in a
recent book.
Interestingly, just as Sigmund Freud, the Jew, criticised all
religions except Judaism, Brahmin psychoanalysts and social psychiatrists
too have never ever criticised, diagnosed or isolated Brahminical
patriarchial barbarism as the main psychopathology afflicting the
Indian female subconscious and repressing female sexuality in India
leading to all kinds of neuroses. Not only that, these Brahminical
quacks are still busy painting a false and glorified picture that
Hinduism is a very “liberal” religion when it comes
to expressing sexuality
But the fact is that it is always the Brahminical patriarchy
which has projected this so-called “virginity” fetish
bullshit in India to imprison women sexually.
Bahujan and Dalit culture is much more matriarchal as well as
sexually liberal and does not bother too much about so-called “virginity” which
is always a fetish treasured by those who value so-called purity
of Aryan blood.
VIRGINITY A CURSE
Of course, the tragedy is Bahujans themselves are getting Brahminised.
No wonder, it was the Tamil Nadu Dalit Panthers who criticised
actress Khushboo for dishonouring the so-called “Tamil womanhood”.
Not only that, it was some mischievous Tamil Brahmin who quoted
Periyar E.V.R. saying “virginity is a curse for women” exactly
like the devil quoting scriptures — to Manuwadically indicate
that all Dalit women who believe Periyar’s words should make
themselves available to the Brahmins and savarna males.
None of our Brahmin firebrand women journalists quoted Periyar
to put things back in the correct context and perspective. Instead,
they wrote unsigned editorials like cowards criticising a Brahminised-Dalit
Panthers and projected them as rural backward stupids. Not only
that, not a single Brahmin woman journalist wrote any piece praising
actress Khushboo advocating sexual freedom for women in a departure
from prevailing Brahminical patriarchy.
Unlike these Brahminical women journalists, at least actress
Khushboo had the guts to honestly tell Brahminical males to stop
expecting “virginity” from women.
How many Brahmin women journalists have done that? Instead of
supporting actress Khushboo, all these Brahmin women journalists
were over enthusiastically playing the “I am a good girl” role.
These are the very same scum who applaud when Taslima bashes up
Islam.
WHY BRAHMINS SUPPORT TASLIMA
When Taslima bashes up Islam, Brahminical women journalists support
her and pretend to be advocates of free sex, but when actress Khusboo
unconsciously criticises prevailing non-Islamic patriarchial (read
Brahminical) sexual hierarchy, all these otherwise very “revolutionary” women
journalists, who are actually gender aristocrats, try to pin the
blame on Dalit Panthers deflecting focus.

Woman-hating Hindus can’t love Taslima
We have received some criticisms to on our report: “Taslima
becomes more important than millions of Muslims” (DV
Dec.16, 2007 p.5). All of a sudden the “Hindu heart” starts
bleeding for Muslim women and our innocent people get confused.
We have made a deep study of this “Hindu heart” and
its selective bleeding. Hence this clarification.
Poor Taslima doesn’t know that she is being used by the

my view, you cannot close down Dalit Voice as long as

I have a small library of my own. I have read some writings of
Babasaheb Ambedkar and all your books. I am just a student (reader)
whereas you are a genius. For me you are the present-day Babasaheb
Ambedkar.
Be more angry: The people to whom you are writing and fighting — are
mostly illiterate. The English-knowing ones are not fond of reading.
If somebody likes reading he or she does not have the sharp intellect
to understand your revolutionary and deep thought-provoking writings.
It is always the wise man’s burden and responsibility to

Jat Sikhs: As for the Chandigarh DV silver jubilee
is concerned, I do not agree that the DV circulation is falling
due to increasing rift between the Dalits and Jat Sikhs. I have
worked for 40 years in the villages, being in the Panchayat Dev.
Dept. Whenever there was any dispute between the two, it was only
due to wages. Dalits work on the Jat Sikh land and demand more
wages but the Jats are reluctant. It has nothing to do with caste.
It is an employer-employees problem.
Labourers are coming in thousands from Bihar and UP. Jat Sikhs
never ask their caste and they are enjoying their work and freedom.
There is no complaint from them due to caste. Somebody wants to
do politics out of this dispute.
I am a Jat Sikh and my relation from UK is also a Jat Sikh (B.S.
Mangat) we both are life members and have read all your books and
many other books, recommended by you and mentioned in DV.
Media Centre: Jat Sikh or Dalits do not believe in caste
hatred. Caste is very much there but without hate. Caste is the
child of Brahminism/Hinduism not of Sikhism. Jat Sikhs do not like
Hindus who want to finish their very identity. Please work out
the total expenditure for starting a “media centre”.

This is the first time we are getting a different picture of Punjab

says is true we will be happy. But the things are not so simple

English liberated us

It is true that Lord Macaulay wanted to use English as a tool
of imperialism to raise an army of clerks who would be loyal to
the British. He also wanted to raise an army of Black or Brown
Englishmen who would be loyal to the British in every way.
But the Indians who learnt English also picked up ideas of “national
liberation”, freedom from the West and thus started petitioning
to the British. The small stream of petitions then snowballed into
a full-fledged movement for the freedom of the country. Thus English
actually has contributed a lot to the freedom struggle of the country
and Macaulay should be honoured for it.
Earlier we were taught that this present life is the outcome of
our past sins. We are atoning for the sins committed in the past
lives. This life is only maya and everything is unreal.
This kind of nonsense was taught to us to fool us. Those who taught
us this made their own slavery comfortable by aligning with the
British. They worship the rising sun and they worshipped every
sun that rose on the political horizon of India. They were their
advisers and members of jury in courts. They enjoyed pelf and power
over the Hindus while the general populace grovelled in misery.

Orissa violence is “independent” India’s biggest
attack on Christians

In the last few days, AICC leaders released two reports on the
anti-Christian violence in Orissa which began on Christmas eve.
Newly confirmed cases of arson, murder, and assault make this violence
qualify as the biggest attack on the Christian community in the
history of “democratic” India. Both reports show that
the Dalits were the main group affected by the violence.
Four AICC leaders (Orissa) visited the affected villages from
Jan. 3-5 and released their report on Jan. 7, 2008 saying 95 churches
were vandalised or destroyed, 730 Christian homes burnt, and four
Christians killed with many still missing and presumed dead.

John Dayal released a white paper after visiting the area. Advocate
Nicholas Barla, a lawyer and human rights expert, and Hemant
Nayak, a social scientist and human rights and development activist,
were also part of the fact finding team. They concluded that
the attacks on Christians included simultaneous, planned violence
by extremist Hindu terrorists and complicity and consistent incompetence

Media reports said two members from India’s National Commission
for Minorities (NCM), Dileep Padgaonkar and Zoya Hasan, are currently
in Orissa to investigate the violence. Aicc leaders met with the
NCM chairman on Dec. 27, 2007 in New Delhi.
Together with the All-India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations
led by Udit Raj, the AICC held a “Stop Violence Against Christians” Rally
in Bhubaneswar, on Jan. 10, 2008.
The violence began when Christians in Bamunigaon village in Kandhamal
district of Orissa began to celebrate Christmas eve. Local Hindu
terrorists opposed the event and a quarrel ensued. Also, a Hindu
terrorist leader, Swami Saraswati, was attacked by unknown assailants — he
alleged they were Christians. The next day a Vishwa Hindu Parishad
(VHP)-affiliated group called for a strike and VHP members began
attacking Christians across the state.

Dalit Freedom Network must ask West to stop
funding India
The AICC release describes the latest Orissa violence as the
biggest attack on Christians in “independent” India.
The ruling upper castes are fond of Christian institutions to
educate their children in English. They take the best advantage
of Christian institutions which are serving the upper caste rulers
so well. This is so all over India. In spite of all the Christian
services, and the Hindu praise for such services, the latest
Orissa violence confirms that Christians continue to be hated
by the upper castes.
DFN silence: They, however, don’t hate
the upper caste Christians. No upper caste church is attacked
in India. Upper caste Christians themselves hate the Dalit and
Tribal Christians.
Indian upper caste rulers (15%) are great stooges of the West
and America in particular. Leaders of the AICC say that the Dalit
Freedom Network (DFN) they established in the West is supporting
their work in India. If the DFN and its Western leaders have
a command over the govt. in USA, UK etc. why they are not taking
India’s Hindu Govt. to task when such large-scale attacks
are launched in India on Christians?
This confirms our fear that the India’s Brahminical
rulers who have joined hands with the American rulers in a big
way are more influential with the West than India’s Christian
leaders. That is why the DFN leaders in US and UK fell silent
when Christians were attacked in India.
When these Brahminical rulers could silence Sonia Gandhi,
herself a Christian, will they bother about the AICC leadership?
Every time the country is made to witness an anti-Christian pogrom,
our Christian leaders are put on the defensive.
Why AICC’s Western counterparts are silent? Why they
are not asking the West to stop funding the anti-Christian Indian

Frank admission of caste among Muslims in North India

It is hazardous to review a book which has the ingredients and
potentials of opening a pandora’s box. The book by Masood
Alam Falahi falls under this category. To consider caste or social
stratification in Muslim society is almost a taboo let alone study
and follow its ramifications and impacts on society. The credit
goes to Falahi to break this taboo and present this malady in all
its crude nakedness. Although studies into the reasons for the
persistence of Hindu caste structure, particularly among the middle
and low caste converts to Islam were, studied in depth with uncertain
results for the reason that the Muslim respondents refused to either
admit such stratification or took defensive shelter behind Quranic
injunctions. The concept of caste among the Indian Muslims with
its attending disabilities and social stratification outside the
Hindu fold is enigmatic and requires deeper studies. The book is
very comprehensive and deals with the subject thoroughly which
includes existence of this malady in the semitic religions in its
rudiments.
TIPU’S GLORIOUS EXAMPLE
With the advent of Delhi Sultanate, the Muslim society as a state
policy adopted the varna cult and thus evolved its own
hierarchical caste system in terms of Ashraf, Ajlaf and Arzal which
later consolidated into Syed, Sheikh, Mogul and Pathans.
Although in the beginning it was a pure artificial stratification
conjured up in the courts of Sultanate for purposes of legitimisation
which with the passage of time took roots and established itself
as a reality. While the former two castes carry with it a pretentious
claim the latter two connotes only their ethnic origin. Their respective ashrafiat ends
there. The others were rubble and scum. What was most intriguing
was the attitude of the historians of the time like Baruni to the
present-day revered personalities like Sir Syed, ulemas of
the stature of Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanavi and many others who not
only condoned such practices but also practiced it.
It was the immigrants from Islamic lands who had monopolised and
constituted the superstructure of power with the pretentious claims
of Ashraf and the sultanate retained and patronised this
social hierarchy for reasons of state craft. The natural fall-out
was the formation of a rubble class outside this group. This artificial
grouping was a contingency of state craft.
Since then Muslims live in two worlds. One an egalitarian where
all are equal, the other the substratum which transcends the
egalitarian sphere —an ideal Islam and a compromised Islam.
But the redeeming feature was the South wherein by and large these
practices failed to get the required patronisation from the courts
of Sultans. As a matter of fact it fell to the lot of the great
saint-king Tupu Sultan to break up this conjured up caste hierarchy.
His Ahmadi Risala consisting of converts were given the
honorific prefix and affix of Syed and Khan to their names and
were settled in his garrison towns all over his domain. In his
administration the locals were given precedence over the migrants
and for which he had to pay for by his life itself.
WELL-GUARDED SECRET
The one disappointing feature of the book happen to be its concluding
chapter which failed to look beyond the Muslim conglomerate. It
failed to provide any blueprint of action to break the barriers
of religious borders and join hands with identically placed parallel
section of the downtrodden and havenots in other societies on a
revolutionary platform. The book deserves to be translated in other
Indian languages preferably in English.
With the coming into print of the Basic Problem of OBC & Dalit
Muslims, a well-guarded secret is out. That their exists
large section within the fold of ummah who leads a subhuman
status and who in the eyes of their ulemas do not deserve
to be counted as Muslims at all. This in spite of projecting
Islam as an egalitarian religion with its lofty quranic injunctions.
The book has been scholarly edited by A.H. Ansari and the articles
have been contributed to this volume by persons of eminence in
their respective field ranging from academics to social scientists
and political activists. Each of the article contributed is a
treat in itself.
The principal role of class and caste in a religious conglomerate
is the principal variable in a social structure of the community.
The Indian Muslim society is divided both vertically and horizontally
and these divisions determine the society’s interaction between
various groups.
It is to be noted that the caste structure obtaining among Muslims,
especially in the cow belt, is by and large analogus to the hierarchical
principle or a replica of Hindu caste system with all the attending
disabilities. This in spite of the egalitarian and lofty Islamic
principles of equality. The social structure formalised with an Ashraf caste
on the top during the Sultanate period continued unabashedly post-mutiny
as well. Its greatest protagonists range from Sir Syed Ahmed to
plethora of ulemas including figures like Moulana Ashraf
Ali Thanavi.
With India attaining “independence” and in its wake
migration of a predominant section of Ashraf to Pakistan
leaving behind the less fortunate to tend their own future there
appeared a mobility not seen at any earlier time.
The political and social convulsions in Pakistan can be attributed
to these Ashraf migrants coupled with the ulema combine
are sufficient enough to bring its end sooner than later.
There is a subtle shift in this intercaste and intra-caste mobility
as it is providing an impetus for interaction with the parallel
categories of caste and class in other religious groups. This happen
to be a welcome sign in a pluralistic society. Now the term OBC
and Dalit which was earlier being used exclusively in respect of “Hindu
caste” is now transformed into a class distinction for the
Muslim sections of parallel caste or class. This progressive attitude
transcending religious barrier is a welcome sign.
The most welcome feature of the book being its progressive outlook
and a blueprint of action in a pluralistic society. The bold and
rebellious exposures of the dark niche, the recesses and the cobwebs
crowding the minds of the leadership of the community coupled with
exposing the hypocrisy of assertion of equality but practicing
an attitude of almost untouchability is the welcome feature.
Perhaps it may go a long way in jolting out the political and
religious leadership from their smug attitude. Both books are a
welcome addition on a subject very rarely traversed.

The nonsense called Rama Sethu

The pre-Aryan, non-Aryan and non-Vedic Indus Valley Civilization
thrived in the third millennium BC i.e. between 3,000 and 2,000
BC. Max Muller ascribed the latter half of the second millennium
i.e. between 2,000 and 1,500 BC to Vedic period when iron was in
use. Aryans were a rural people who never had townships — puras.
Aryan invaders destroyed pre-Aryan, Dravidian towns and cities.
Their god, Indra’s another name was Purandhara i.e.
the destroyers of puras. The two puras mentioned
in the Rig Veda are Asandivat and Kampila.
Sanskrit language had not come into existence in the third millennium
BC when Prakrit, Tamil and Kannada were in use. There is a derogatory
reference to Budha (566-486 BC) who lived in the 6th and 5th century
BC in what is claimed as the Valmiki Ramayana, according
to Dr.Narla Venkateswara Rao, an awardee of the Central Sahitya
Academy.
Apart from iron, the concept of fire god i.e. Agnideva was not
known to Indus people, while Sita was tested in fire i.e. by Agnideva.
Ayodhya was a city, i.e. pura. Vasista, the royal priest,
refers to Vedic shastras whenever the ruler—Dasharatha
or Rama—sought guidance. Ravana is described as one of the
experts in Sanskrit grammar. All these provide clues to the period
of the Ramayana i.e. the period ascribed to Ramayana by
those who conceived the story.
An important aspect of Vedic mythology—of which the Ramayana is
a part — is the predominance of males. Goddesses like Saraswati,
Pritvi, Aditi and Ushas occupy a very subordinate position. In
contrast, in the earlier Indus culture, the mother goddess is co-equal
with her male partner.
Sita was victimised more by Rama than by anybody else.
Even after subjecting her to fire-test (Agni Pariksha),
he abandoned her to forest when she was pregnant because of a casual
silly comment by a washerman — dhobi. In the end
unable to bear his cruel accusations, she begs mother earth to
swallow her and the earth obliges. In other words, she commits
suicide.
Suspecting and torturing Sita was his chief sport and pastime.
Shambhuka episode shows him as an enthusiastic soldier of Manuwad and
as the very personification of the Vedic value system.
According vaidiks he is Vigrahvan dharma i.e.
the embodiment of dharma viz the dharma of chaturvarna.
All this very clearly establishes that the story contained in Valmiki’s
fiction was conceived in the post-Indus period. It is the faith
of all objective thinkers, Periyarists and Ambedkarites that Rama
of Valmiki’s work was not only not divine, but not even human.
Clash of faiths is therefore inevitable. The cry of the priest
class, the exploiters and their apologists — when the exploited
react and resent — that their feelings are hurt, is natural
but absurd. Their record has been one of oppression and suppression.
WHAT RAJAJI SAYS
Rajaji, the author of the most popular and the best seller of
all the Ramayanas, writes in his book:
The Ramayana is not history or biography. It is part
of Hindu mythology... In Valmiki’s work, Rama is portrayed
as a great and unique man, not as an incarnation of god”.
(emphasis added).
Confusions, contradictions and disorder perplexes anyone who wants
to know the whole of Ramayana. Not only there are so many Ramayanas but
even in the same book inconsistencies can be seen. Even Rajai,
despite his reputation for an incisive mind, states that Valmiki
gathered the story from folklore, that he learnt it from Narada
and that he was blessed with the knowledge of Rama story by the
four-faced Brahma.
WORST WOMAN-HATER
Any student of Ramayana gets drowned in confusion worst
confounded when he finds that the abandoned Sita gave birth to
her twin sons in the hermitage of this very Valmiki. Discussing
the pathetic episode of Rama abandoning the pregnant Sita, even
Rajaji writes angrily:
“...my heart rebels against it... it mirrors the voiceless
and endless suffering of our women folk”.
Rama is surely one of the most anti-women characters in the
whole of world literature.
JAIN RAMAYANA
Long before Valmiki, there were several Rama stories in the folklore
depicting Rama as an ideal king, at a time when there was clash
on what made an ideal. In one story, Sita is Rama’s sister
while in another she is Ravana’s daughter. In a Rama story
of Budhist tradition by name Abhidhamma Vibasha, Budhist
ideals and values are upheld. Jains have six Rama stories which
uphold their concepts and values. Vimala Suri, Swaymbhu, Hema Chandra,
Guna Bhadra, Pushpa Danta are the authors of these Jain Ramayanas.
Of all the Jain Ramayanas, Padma Purana of Acharya
Ravishena is very famous. Here Rama is known also as Padma.
At a time when the vaidiks needed a hero and a story
to attract masses from Budhist and Jain fold, the fiction attributed
to Valmiki developed. They had to send feelers that non-Brahmins
too can command respect in Vedic social order. It is therefore
not accidental that Rama, Viswamitra, Anjaneya and Valmiki have
all been portrayed as non-Brahmins and Ravana their villain as
Brahmin.
VAIDIK AS EXPERTS IN FORGERY
Renowned scholar, Dr. Suniti Kumar Chatterjee, states that
it was Chyavana Mahrshi, a Brahmin who actually wrote the Sanskrit Ramayana and
attributed it to Valmiki.
In order to validate and propagate the values and beliefs of their
faiths, Jains, Budhists and vaidiks picked up the Rama
story which was already there in the folklore and reshaped it to
suit their needs, according to Dr. K.R. Srinivasa Iyengar, former
VC of the Andhra University, as well as Dr. Sukumar Sen. Vaidiks were
adept in plagiarism. According to some scholars the name Rama itself
is of Jain origin. A Bengali text, Lakavatara Sutra, portrays
Ravana as a Dravidian king who took to Budhism after rejecting
the vedas, yajnas and yagas. Vaidiks had
to demonise him in order to abuse him. The belief that by reading
or listening to Ramayana, bliss (punya) can be
attained, was spread.
The Ramayana thus became an oversized propaganda phamplet
of Vedic religion.
VALMIKI’S TIME
Of late, in some Panchangas (vaidik almanac/calenders)
the full moon day of Ashweeyuja month (26-10-2007) is
shown as Valmiki Jayanti. A people who never cared to
find out the century in which the poet might have lived are sure
of his date of birth. Moris Winternitz and A.B. Keith are the two
Western scholars who are extensively quoted in any serious discussion
on ancient Sanskrit literature.
Both these scholars have determined that Valmiki lived during
the 3rd century BC. Prof. Hopkins and Herman Jacobi who studied
the various stages in the growth and development of Sanskrit language
have held that the Valmiki Ramayana was composed when
the Sanskrit language had reached almost the final stage of its
evolution and had become completely refined and mature in view
of the simplicity and beauty of the Valmiki Ramayana.
Their finding is in conformity with what Winternitz and Keith have
said about the time of Valmiki.
BUDHA’S BLOW TO BRAHMINS
Budha is the first great Indian whose dates of birth and death
are not in dispute.
Budha was a historical figure while Rama was a cock and bull
story.
He lived between 566 and 486 BC.
Valmiki, therefore lived two centuries after Budha. By attracting
the masses who had been persecuted by the Vedic social order, Budha
gave the first ever moral shock, intellectual jolt and sociological
blow to the Brahminic religion.
Rama endlessly boasts about his lineage. Sita’s fidelity
assumes disproportionate importance. The chief message of the Ramayana is
that husband’s verdict on wife ought to be final. Rama was
noticeably the anti-climax of everything that Budha stood for.
Budha left his queen and child in palace and abdicated the throne.
Rama stayed in the palace and abandoned the pregnant Sita to forest.
Rama obeyed priests and shastras while Budha taught how
to live without them.
On which century did Rama live? This question that does not arise
since in all pre-Valmiki and post-Valmiki Ramayanas, Rama
is only a character or at best the hero of an over-glorified novel.
Let me repeat the words of the most respected among the Ramayana votaries,
Rajaji:
Ramayana is not history or biography.
Even as the elephant headed Ganesha or four-headed Brahma could
not have existed, Rama too is part of several or varieties of Ramayanas,
all of which fictions.
RAMA SETHU
The hump beneath the sea between Dhanush Koti and Talai Mannar
is described in all official and cartographic records as Adam’s
Bridge. The unwarranted and unauthorised term Rama Sethu or Ramar
Sethu is sought to be legitimised by vaidiks and
their Hindu terrorist outfits to whom the media has always been
helpful. Babri Masjid complex and Bababudangiri (in Karnataka)
have been unauthorisedly named by these very outfits as Rama
janmabhoomi and Dattapeeta.
The geological truth is that the island Ceylon, called Sri Lanka
since about 40 years, was once a part of India and due to corrosion
by sea during the past about 1 lakh years, the island was formed
and the remnants of land — mixture of rocks and sand is the
present Adam’s Bridge. The hue and cry of the saffron outfits
over Rama Sethu can be easily put down by gathering expert opinion
from geologists. The UPA Govt. unfortunately does not have the
political will. The UPA led by Sonia Gandhi blundered by withdrawing
the affidavits which contained unqualified truth about Rama and
Adam’s Bridge, even as Narasimha Rao bungled at Ayodhya.
CONTROVERSY ON RAMA’S DATE
Human beings in the present form evolved about 1 lakh years ago
when man began to live in caves, according to history of human
evolution.
Geology and seismology too are clearly against the silly propaganda
that Rama and vanaras built what is now seen as Adam’s
Bridge.
At first they cried that Rama built this bridge 17 lakhs years
ago. Someone among them recently came up with the wonderful discovery
that Rama took birth in 5114 BC i.e. 51 centuries before Christ.
According to the findings of the archaeological excavations at
Ayodhya, the earliest occupation of the place by humans could not
have taken place prior to 7th century BC (See: Indian Archaeology-A
Review, 1976-77).
Ayodhya means “impregnable”. There is nothing impregnable
about the present Ayodhya. All this shows that whoever discovered
the years of Rama’s birth knows more than even Valmiki about
the Ramayana. However our Brahminical media gave prompt
and wide coverage for this celebrity of sorts.
Whenever our Hindu terrorists raise non-issues the media turns
into a machinery of misinformation.
A very high profile article on Rama in the Indian Express (Sun,
Oct.7, 2007) tells us that Valmiki according to historians lived
anywhere between 800 BC and 400 BC, without giving us even a single
name among those historians.
The biggest and the most propagated lie is that the nonsense dished
out by the Hindu terrorists called Rama Sethu is the faith of millions
of Hindus. Nearly half of world’s illiterate population lives
in India and 47% of India’s children under the age of five
are “chronically malnourished”, according to the United
Nations report of 2005. Do our millions suffering from illiteracy
and squalor have any time or interest in polemics over the events
narrated in mythology?
HINDUISM - A MISNOMER
“The word Hindu... has lost all its meaning, for this word
merely meant those who lived on the other side of the river Indus
(in Sanskrit, Sindhu). This name was murdered into Hindu by ancient
Persians... and during Mohammedan rule, we took up the word ourselves...
all the people who live on this side of the Indus in modern times
do not follow the same religion... therefore would not use the
word Hindu... The other words which alone we can use are either
the vaidiks, followers of the Vedas, or better still the Vedantists followers
of the Vedanta.
“... all the people that live on this side of the Indus
no longer belong to one religion. There are the Hindus proper,
the Mohammedans, the Parsees, the Christians, the Budhists and
Jains. The word “Hindu” in its literal sense ought
to include all these; but as signifying the religion, it would
not be proper to call all these, Hindus... This perhaps is certain
that no man can have a right to be called a Hindu who does not
admit the supreme authority of the Vedas”.
These are not the words of either Periyar or Dr. Ambedkar but
of Swami Vivekananda (pages 118 and 228 of Vol.3 of the Complete
Works of Swami Vivekananda).
It is a pity that the great Swami did not know that Lingayats
(followers of Basavanna-12th century) and Sikhs (followers of Guru
Nanak - 16th century) too rejected “the supreme authority
of the Vedas”. It is a greater pity that the great Swami
overlooked the fact that Vedas had persecuted whom the smritis called
Chandals and who had to wait for 3,000 years in order to be called
by an appropriate name Dalits.
GANDHI ON HINDUS
Truth itself had to wait in order to find an expression until
Gandhi came to the conclusion: “the Hindus are really not
the major community if you put the rest together”. Saffron
disdain for Gandhi is understandable.
According to the Goutama Dharma Sutra (an important Smriti)
if at all any shudra (whose rank is higher than Dalits)
hears Vedas molten lead should be poured into his ears. Adi Shankara,
the most adored Indian for the Hindu terrorist party, quotes this
sanction against sudras with approval in the 38th verse
of the 9th section of the 3rd part of the 1st chapter of his Bramhasutra
Bhashyam.
On this such a famous non-issue called Rama Sethu,
Chief Minister Karunanidhi truely represents the millions of
non-cross-thread Hindus. In fact millions are indifferent to
Rama and trillions are unconcerned about Rama Sethu.
HINDUTVA & ENVIRONMENT
Rama perhaps did not approve the demolition of Babri Masjid and
did not bless the Hindu terrorist party in UP. The saffron mafia
knows that Rama can become not only an electoral risk, but even
a liability in Tamil Nadu, the land of Periyar. The non-issue of
Rama Sethu may be of some marginal use elsewhere. They are therefore
playing the environment card.
The mafia is adept in politicising every vaidik concern
by mixing it with larger public concerns, banking on the gullibility
of the misinformed masses. Hindu terrorists did not support environmentalists
who had objected to Sardar Sarovar Project because no vaidik was
affected. The affected poor villages and tribals had nothing to
do with hamari Pracheen Parampara — our ancient
Hindu heritage.
Of all the arguments related to Rama Sethu, the most unsound and
funniest is the one advanced in the name of environment. Whenever
a big building is built, railway line is laid, or a factory comes
up, air and noise pollution is inevitable, trees are cut, nests
are destroyed and earthworms are killed. Even boring a well is
a sin since it affects ground water level.
RAMA DAMAGED ENVIRONMENT
It is argued that forms of life around Adam’s Bridge are
covered by laws relating to environment. The truth is that the
coral needs etc. and other forms of life get naturally replenished
in due course according to geology.
If it were Rama that built what they call Rama Sethu, he must
have been the first to damage the environment for purely personal
reasons. Surely he did not go to Lanka for any public cause.
The argument that the Sethu Samudram Project will affect the lives
of fishermen is even more funny. It is too well known that routine
fishing on our coast has resulted in the extinction of many varieties
of fish. For this irreparable environmental loss, fishermen and
fish -eaters alone are to be blamed. It is a pity that fishing
is free from any form of regulation.
UNTRUSTWORTHY CONGRESS PARTY
Archaeological excavations did take place with the specific object
of finding the historicity of the Ramayana story at and
around Ayodhya. No evidence was found.
Late Dr. Narla Venkateswara Rao, the great rationalist of Andhra,
has discussed all this in detail in his book on the Ramayana.
The UPA Govt. did great disservice to the country by victimising
the officers of the ASI for telling the truth to the Supreme court
on lack of archaeological evidence about the historicity of the Ramayana.
The UPA Govt. is guilty of setting up a bad and dangerous precedent,
by withdrawing the affidavits. The Congress intellectually surrendered
to the Hindu terrorists fearing that Rama issue may swing votes.
The Ramayana as well as other epics contain a lot of
incredible fairy tales. The chances are that the govt. machinery
will in future be used to crush rationalist and scientific view
on all these so-called sacred beliefs falsely paraded as the faith
of millions of Hindus.
If you want to fight Hindu terrorists never trust Congress.
RAJASTHAN BAN ON RAVANA PUJA
The grand and great Greek epics, Illiad and Odissy,
created by the celebrated poet, Homer, are read and enjoyed by
Europeans. So are the Arabian Nights. However, no people
on earth are so madly parading their mania for mythological characters
with ulterior motives as our Hindu terrorists. In fact Rama devotees
have been adoring Rama, Krishna, Siva etc. all these centuries
irrespective of who ruled the country. Saffron mafia has turned
Rama into a vote gathering gadget. Their perverse love for Rama
is actually a morbid form of hate towards fellow Indians i.e. the
non-cross-threaded Indians whom they want to subjugate and exploit.
Hindu terrorists do not tolerate freedom of worship. If proof
is needed, one can see the Indian Express (Oct,28, 2007)
that the BJP Govt. in Rajasthan banned Ravana Puja. Speaking on
behalf of a subcaste of Shrimali Brahmins, the head priest Pandit
Kamalesh Dave, said that they have deep respect for Ravana, the
great scholar.
