Sikh revolution as product of Dalit saints
Gurnam Singh Muktsar, 2 - Bhagat Singh Nagar, b/h Bus Stand, Muktsar
- 152 026
My latest book, Jhuth Na Bol Pande, (Guru Nanak) disclosing the truth
of Sikh revolution, which was a rebirth of Budha's revolution, in Hindi
is getting ready. It will be released on the birth anniversary of Guru
Ravidass at Goverdhanpur, Banaras, Kashi-Sarnath.
We are determined to defend the historical truth of the second great
socio-religious (Sikh) revolution of Bahujans now hijacked and hinduised
by the upper castes.
The Truth as revealed in the Guru Granth is that this powerful Revolution
was the product of Dalit saints. All the ten Sikh Gurus Ð who praised
them as sadhus, bhagats, sants and gur-satgurs (true path makers) ÑÊhave
admitted in writing this historic fact.
My book denounces the falsehood. But exposes the Truth with all reference
to the Guru Granth itself.
Meanwhile, owing to some legal problems the Begam Pure Da Vassi, our
Punjabi monthly, had to be stopped with effect from April 2004 after
six years of continuous publication.
In its place a new tri-language (Punjabi-Hindi-English journal), Be
Gam Shehr, will start from Jan.2005.
DV March 1, 2004 p.13: "Dalit saints founded Sikhism?"
DV Aug.16, 2004 p.9: "Sikhism founded by Nanak".
Tamil Nadu in grip of counter-revolution
V.T. Rajshekar
President Prof. Saraswati & friends.
Thank you for inviting me to the function organised by Sister Kalai
Selvi, an energetic and enthusiastic follower of Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy
whom we have rated next only to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
But it is a tragedy that such a towering personality is being dubbed
anti-Dalit by a section of Dalits in Tamil Nadu.
But this is not the verdict of history. The history of India has
already given its judgement. It has selected the three greatest
personalities of "independent India": (1) Dr. Ambedkar, (2) Periyar E.V.
Ramaswamy and (3) Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Ñ in that order.
History has its own ways of assessing personalities and events.
All those
fellows who came as our Prime Ministers right from Jawahar Lal
Nehru have been thrown to dust bin of history. These fellows have
been
crying for our attention from the garbage bin. Not a single fellow's
name has gone into history.
D.V. Debate on who is enemy of Dalits?
It is only Dr. Ambedkar, Periyar and Lohia who have managed to remain
in our memory because their contributions to social transformation
has been the greatest and ever-lasting.
But lately in Tamil Nadu a handful of Dalit leaders and writers,
under the influence of their Brahmin masters, have started a campaign
that Periyar is anti-Dalit.
This subject has been given to me for my today's talk as the noise
against Periyar is growing louder and louder. The Periyar movement
people, the Dravidian political parties, Dravida Khazhagam is doing
hardly anything to counter the lies. The subject is too vast and
the time is too short to deal with these questions.
Repeat a lie 99 times and at the 100th time it will appear as truth.
The enemies of Periyar have conducted enough propaganda and done
enough damage. When I recently met Brother Veeramani in Madras, he
raised the same question: He said some Dalit leaders in TN were saying
that Backward Castes were the enemies of Dalits. Even Periyar was
the enemy of Dalits.
I said I was fully aware of this propaganda. This propaganda is not
confined to TN alone. It has assumed all-India dimension.
Brahminical forces have identified some intellectually dishonest
Dalit writers and have been systematically encouraging them to single-out
the BCs as the enemy of Dalits. In DV, we had conducted a Debate
and our readers have rejected this opinion.
Their argument is Brahmins are not the enemy but the BCs.
In Dalit Voice, we have rebutted this falsehood several times and
our DV family members have endorsed our arguments. The critics have
been silenced.
Dr. Ambedkar had never said BCs were the enemy of Dalits. In fact
Babasaheb was a creation of the BC movement. He was fully aware of
the movement of Periyar and had supported it. We don't know from
where these Dalit brothers are getting the brainwave to call Periyar
anti-Dalit.
Backward Castes are sleeping
Dalit Voice is India's oldest Dalit fortnightly. It is 25 years old.
It is also India's largest circulated Dalit journal.
But in DV, we have hardly any Backward Caste subscriber.
BCs are sleeping. That is why the Brahmins are using the Dalits to
attack the BCs.
In Gujarat, the Brahmins and their Brahmana Jati Party used the Dalits
to attack and kill Muslims. Brahmins are masters of the law of contradictions.
Wherever they find caste contradictions, they use it to their advantage.
There is nothing wrong in the Brahmins using the caste contradictions
to their advantage.
Crusading zeal of Nakkeeran Gopal
Brahmins are doing their duty. But are the BCs doing their duty?
In TN, the greatest enemy of the Tamils and Dravidians, the Frankenstein
Shankarachari, is now in trouble. He is drowning.
The law of contradiction says when the enemy is drowning throw
a stone and see that the enemy is dead.
I am sorry to say that the Dravidian organisations and parties
have hardly exploited the situation to their advantage.
But for the crusading zeal of Nakkeeran Gopal, this Frankenstein
would not have landed in the jail.
I was in Madras for two days last week and met a large number
of Dravidian and Dalit people. Everybody is enjoying the plight
of the
Kanchi culprit, the notorious spiritual terrorist. This Jagadguru,
the lord of this universe, is confined to a 8ft.x8ft. cell in
Vellore jail. (cheers). That is his jagat today (more cheers).
But to this day no good book has come out in Tamil on the subject.
Sister Kalai Selvi showed me a tiny booklet. Except this nothing
has come out.
So much of dirty linen of the Kanchi culprit's scandals are washed
in public. But no book has come out. If an English book had come
out it would have sold like hot cakes.
But what to talk of this Dravidian leadership which has failed
to bring out even a good biography of Periyar in English.
What to talk of India's purest dark-looking Dravidas electing
the notorious Bangalore Papatti to lead them? Is this not a shame
on
Periyar's Tamil Nadu?
Cinema, SEX, Stunts
In the early years of Dalit Voice, I used to go round the whole
of Tamil Nadu attending Dravida Kazhagam meetings with Brother
Veeramani.
I used to write in Dalit Voice that "TN would show the way to
the whole India". Today, I am ashamed to say that I wrote
all this.
TN is in the grip of a counter-revolution. Cinema, sex and stunts
have mesmerised the Tamils.
The papans have once again fooled the Tamils.
And dubbing Periyar as anti-Dalit is the greatest victory for
these papans.
Even as the papans are celebrating their victory, their greatest
hero, the Kanchi swami, has landed himself in the jail and cooling
his heels in the 8x8 cell eating the jail food.
This is the right time to recover the lost ground to educate
the masses, to spread the message of Periyar and convince the
Dalits
that Periyar was not the enemy but the greatest and the most
trust-worthy friend, philosopher and guide of Dalits.
Important Dravidian intellectuals are on the stage here. I am
sure they have understood the significance of my argument and
see that
this Brahmin propaganda is nipped in the bud. And Truth is placed
before the Dalits.
We on our part will be always with you. We will never hesitate
to speak out the Truth and fight for Justice.
The Truth is that Periyar was a great and trusted friend of Dalits.
He resigned from the Congress Party in protest against the discrimination
against Dalits at a Congress party conference.
Periyar worked for Dalits, BCs, Muslims and women also. There
are innumerable historical facts. But I will not go into it.
The Truth is with us, Justice is with us. History is also with
us. The only thing is we have to place all this before the Dalits.
Now is the right time to do the work when the Shankarachari is
drowning. Throw a stone and see that he is finished. Thank you
for giving this
opportunity.
Vanakkam, Jai Bhim.
Speech delivered at a function arranged by the Self-Respect Movement
in Bangalore on Dec.26, 2004, on the subject, "Is Periyar E.V.
Ramaswamy anti-Dalit". The function was attended by senior
ideologues of the Periyar Movement like Prof. Saraswati, Tiruchi
Selvendran,
Prof. Periyardasan, Ms. Kalai Selvi etc.

Frauds parading as scientists : The famous case of M.S. Swaminathan
Prof. M. Thangavelu, 19C - Nandavanam St., Kottaiyur, Sivagangai
dt- 630 106
I read all your three articles on M.S. Swaminathan in DV. I was thinking
of the part played by this famous Brahmin fraud parading as a scientist.
I have a copy of the Tamil monthly, Dalit Murasu, of January 2003.
It has an article in the form of an interview about M.S. Swaminathan
(Iyer) and his frauds. It contains a lot of information about the
fraud.
The name of the article is "Green revolution Ñ a Brahmin
conspiracy". To put it briefly, he has conspired along with
the late C. Subramaniam to turn India into a Sahara desert. If
you read it, you will understand it is a global conspiracy. We,
Indians
need not cultivate foodgrain, it is enough if the Indians work
as coolies in the foreign countries which would supply us wheat.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Kalam has stressed the need for a "second
green revolution" to produce more foodgrains. He is perhaps
not aware of the dangers of the scheme.
What I want to impress upon you is those who want to understand the
real meaning of the conspiracy must read the secret circular published
in the DV and the other journals from the Balaghat Brahmin Samaj
(1994). What shall we do to counter this conspiracy?
DV Aug.16, 2004 p. 8: "Agriculture scientists' conspiracy to
turn India into Sahara desert?".
DV July 16, 2004 p.7: "Frauds of the notorious father of green
revolution".
DV July 1, 2004 p. 27: "M.S. Swaminathan mystery needs probe".
Vaidik frauds can't be countered without our own media
Vaidik forces from the very beginning of their history have been
thriving on conspiracies, one after the other. And we have been its
victims continuously. Even in the modern age when the vaidiks have
been dislodged at least from political power, the SC/ST/BCs and Muslims/Christian/Sikhs
(who constitute the majority - 85% Bahujan forces), after having
continuously suffered under Brahminical aggression and conspiracies,
should have got ready their own counter-strategies and tactics. But
alas, we have none. We have not even a powerful media to reach the
masses of our people.
Swaminathan's frauds are not new. We had been exposing it from
the very beginning. Indira Gandhi as PM had once banished him from
the
country itself. But he has now come back with greater force fully
supported by the Brahminical "national" toilet papers.
At a Hyderabad seminar, we recently met two Brahmins from Tamil Nadu,
one an academic from Madras and another leader of the Tanjore Mirasdars
(landlords). Both said they were fully aware of Swaminathan's frauds.
But when requested them to give the details, they kept silent. No
Brahmin is ready to leak any secret of the other Brahmin.
To counter the Brahminical evil designs, we must have our own media.
We have none except this feeble Dalit Voice.
Failure of TN leadership: Dalit leadership in Tamil Nadu is busy
fighting the BCs calling them enemies of Dalits. They say Brahmins
no longer are the enemies.
The Dravidian parties and Periyar movement people failed to take
advantage of the fall of the notorious Kanchi culprit. They should
have fully exploited this golden opportunity. But nothing is being
done. The Bahujans have neither unity nor strategies and tactics.
We may have a big majority. But what is the use of this massive majority?
The entire Brahmins of India are aware of the frauds of Swaminathan
but they will not speak out. Were they not aware of Kanchi's spiritual
terrorism? Did any Brahmin question him? Even when the murdered Brahmin
(Shankarraman) questioned the swami, did he get any support? It is
only the Nakkeeran Gopal who took up the issue and forced the Bangalore
Papatti to act. Situation is pathetic.
We have no answer to Brother Thangavelu's question ÑÊEDITOR.

Physical identity for Dalits: Dilemma of an Ambedkarite woman
Mrs. Rajshree C. Dange, 221/6 - Housefed Complex, SBS Nagar, Ludhiana
- 141 001
I met you at Dera Sachkhand, Ballan, (Jalandhar) in June 2004 when
you invited me for the Shimla DV workshop. I attended it with my
husband with our 3-year-old daughter.
I refer to the Letter of Dr. R.K. Nimble Baudh of New Delhi and Brother
Rajendra of Kolar dt. (DV Nov.16, 2004) appealing to all principled
Ambedkarites to have a physical identity (symbol) to indicate we
are different from Manuvadis. Brother Baudh has suggested (1) a choti
on forehead or (2) a blue thread on left wrist.
Family boycott: But this is for men. What about the Ambedkarite married
women? I belong to Nagpur where all Ambedkarites (Mahar, Mang, Chamar
etc.) are imitating the Manuvadis and displaying our enemy symbols.
Women apply sindur and have mangalsutra to indicate their marital
status.
But being an Ambedkarite Budhist, I am against imitation of Hindu
women and hence do not apply sindhur or use mangalsutra. Because
of this, I am facing parental (family) boycott over this issue. No
doubt my parents are well educated and call themselves Ambedkarite
Budhist.
The pity is in Maharashtra (Mahar) Ambedkarite Budhists do not want
to think, not to speak of discussing about such Manuvadi symbols
which ensure our enslavement, particularly the women. Manuvadis know
that it is easy to finish the men once the women are enslaved. At
the time of mass conversion to Budhism at Dikshabhumi in Nagpur,
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar gave us 22 oaths. And the basic purpose of
these oaths is to keep the Dalits away from:
(1) worshipping Manuvadi deities, (2) carrying Manuvadi symbols and
identities and (3) celebration of Hindu festivals so that the purity
of Budha dhamma is maintained.
I think both sindhur and mangalsutra are the core identity of Brahminism
and being Budhists why our people still love Brahminism?
If we see different religions like the Sikh, Islam, Christianity,
all the oppressed people who got converted to these religions are
following the teachings of their respective religions. All of them
adhere to some physical identity, both men and women. So why should
not Ambedkarite Budhist people in Maharashtra follow their own religion?
Why they are bent upon disobeying Babasaheb and yet call themselves
Ambedkarites?
I want to know what our intellectual Ambedkarite Budhist people think
about this issue as it is related to women.
Please note it is the woman who gives identity to her family, her
community. More than anything else women are the carriers of culture.
When Dalits are not Hindu, should they not look different from Hindu?
Having found Sister Rajshree an extra-ordinary person at Jalandhar,
we invited her to our Shimla workshop. Unlike other women she did
not do baby-sitting at Shimla to help her husband to attend the workshop.
She attended the workshop and her husband looked after the child.
Very rarely we come across such women, that too among Dalits. We
expect great things from her. Her husband has given her all encouragement
in her intellectual pursuits.
In this male-dominated Dalit movement, Rajashree is a rare exception.
The point she has raised has been worrying us for long but our "educated" Dalit
brothers do not take it seriously. Budhism itself is being sabotaged
both from inside and outside by vaidik forces. "Educated" Dalits
are increasingly coming under Brahminical pressure and fast getting
hinduised (enslaved).
When we say we are not Hindu and were never Hindu, should we not
also look different from Hindu? Our dictum should be hate what the
Enemy loves and love what the Enemy hates.
This needs a debate Ñ EDITOR.
Shyam Sunder's book released
Shreyaskar, 2-565, bhim Nagar, Jagat, B. Shyam Sunder Marg, Gulbarga
- 585 105
A Kannada translation of revolutionary Dalit leader B. Shyam Sunder's
English book, They Burn, titled Bendavaru was released at Gulbarga
University on Nov.25, 2004. Former Karnataka Chief Minister M. Veerappa
Moily released the book translated by Dr. H.T. Pote and Dr. Shinde
Jagannath R., two Dalit lecturers of the university. B. Shyam Sunder
founded the Bharatiya Bhim Sena, a self protection force. The present
Chief Minister of Karnataka, Dharam Singh, belonging to Gulbarga,
was a lieutenant of Shyam Sunder. They Burn was published (1989)
by the Dalit Sahitya Akademy, Bangalore, with a foreword by V.T.
Rajshekar, Editor of Dalit Voice, who ranked Shyam Sunder as second
only to Dr. Ambedkar. Dr. Shantinath Dibbada who writes the foreword
to the Kannada book, quotes V.T. Rajshekar's tributes to Shyam Sunder
as "Father of India's Dalit movement. No other Dalit leader
of India has reached such heights after Babasaheb Ambedkar".
The authors have also published V.T. Rajshekar's Introduction to
the English original, They Burn (1987), which is one of the best
documents on the state of Dalits. The book is relevant even to this
day. Those interested may write for its English original (photocopy)
to Dalit Voice office. Rs. 80
