Islam gives priority to work & study over mosque prayer

S. SINGHA CHOWDHURY, R.K PALLY, PO: D.SK. LANE, HOWRAH DT. - 711 109

It is a privilege to read such an excellent article by a learned professor of physics, P. Hoodbhoy of Islamabad (DV Nov.16, 2007).

The question is allied with fundamentalism. If so such a straight-away reference to the Quran should be made to find out what the Book has to say about knowledge and its advance.

It is a sin to forget. It is a greater/the greatest sin to forget the fundamentals.

The education system under Islam is open, both formal and informal, to make the society vibrant with motion of knowledge and emotive with faith. Don’t wait to know. If any question occurs to your mind, you ask anyone far or near, to satisfy your query. You can go as far as China to know. Knowledge has no boundary, it is never polluted. Because knowledge is god’s absolute possession. Or god is Absolute Knowledge

Golden period of Islam: The golden period of Islam started immediately after Islam, inspired by the knowledge of good, started astride to cover the world to break into the “deepest depth of darkness”, with mighty steps to enlighten, to enlighten with knowledge scientific and knowledge of ethics and morality.

The Prophet’s concern for those who reject is living and sentient. There is no trace of urge to vengeance.

While Christianity is charity, Islam is knowledge plus charity. Hinduism is “an enclave of knowledge” to fully shut from the people in general. It is a “secret cult” of the Brahmins to protect their selfish interests.

Excused from going to mosque: A reference to the Book will clarify:

“Allah is the protector of those who have faith: From the depth of darkness He leaves them forth into light” (S. 2A-256).

“Let there be no compulsion in religion; Truth stands out clear from error”. (Ibid).

The believers

“In Allah hath grasped the most Trustworthy Hand-hold that never breaks” (Ibid).

When it is said:

And Allah heareth And knoweth all things”.

I think you are excused from mosque and encouraged to go to laboratory or pray and come back to laboratory. If science is your “hand-hold” never relax “hold” over it. It is more than prayer.

Islam is a liberal society: If knowledge is absolute, it is meaningless to distinguish between secular and scientific knowledge. Or rather secularism is subsumed in science.

Fundamentalism is then a masterful knowledge of science and it also implies uncompromisable morality and ethics.

If there is a prohibition against alcohol, brutality, bitchery and adultery, it is constant and unbreakable.

Then knowledge is “gradual” achievement. Therefore Islam has to be a liberal society.

When the Prophet says, you would ”repent”; god is “often/always forgiving”, the scope of redemption is endless.

The progress of Islam is halted by devils:

(1) Crusade: the very word means a religious war launched by Christianity against Islam to protect itself;

(2) Internal corruption (which means belittling the Book) by Islamic society;

(3) Imperialism and (4) diffidence of Muslim elite.

SET FIRE TO BRAHMINICAL BULLSHIT HISTORY BOOKS

Our fight for justice fails because we don’t know true history

DR. M.S. JAYAPRAKASH, RETD. PROF. OF HISTORY, GURUVIHAR, PUNNATHALA, KOLLAM DT. - 691 012

Historians are supposed to be seekers of truth. They are expected to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. But our experience with the extant historical writing in India is galling and disgusting. Most of them suffer from serious distortion of facts and travesty of truth. Errors of commission and omission have been made wilfully or otherwise. Wanton suppression of facts, unnecessary reading between the liens and observing conspiracy of silence in the case of the history of Bahujans are the cases of historical distortion. Thus we experience a historical blackout at the hands of the so-called learned scholars in the field of historical writings in India.

NEED FOR NEW HISTORY

In fact the history of this land is the history of the aborigines of India. They are the people who marched along with history nurturing the same. As the original rulers of this country we had a history to be proud of. Unfortunately we are not fully aware of our past history due to the age-long suppression and oppression imposed on us by the Aryan Manuwadi oppressors.

They destroyed our history and fabricated a new history of their own to prolong their oppressive rule through a process of mind manipulation and brain washing. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar had rightly observed:

“If you want to destroy a society, destroy its history and the society will get destroyed automatically”.

This is what exactly happened to us. Hence we have to reconstruct our history posing a severe challenge to the manuvadi robbers who looted the treasury of our golden history. We have to regain our history, the history of the people, by the people and for the people for the welfare of all.

It should also be noted that a society which has no history cannot rule. This is because it is the history which gives inspiration. Inspiration leads to awakening and awakening paves the way for thinking. Thinking gives strength and strength produces power. And ultimately it is power that makes us the rulers of our country. Hence the need for new history for new India.

True history tells us that the Aryans came as conquerors, brutally destroyed our Indus Valley Civilization and made us the Dasus or slaves. The vedic literature clearly prove this but the manuvadis have eclipsed this history and made us believe that our Indus culture had been destroyed by natural calamities. Then up to the origin of Budhism these oppressors had established a reign of terror with the Brahminical Social Order (BSO) maintained by yagas and yajnas. All human rights were violated by introducing rigid caste rules like Manusmriti ad other inhuman law codes. Even during this period of severe suppression there were powerful resistance movements either in the political or ideological form. The ideological challenge posed by Kapila, Goshala, Katyayana, Kanada and many others are the striking examples. Moreover the 16 janapadas in North India had posed a political challenge to the Brahminical Social Order.

Budhism under Asoka liberated the Bahujans from the yoke of Aryanisation and inaugurated a new era of dharmavijaya instead of the Digvijaya of Brahminism.

BUDHISM DESTROYED BY B.S.O.

Then up to the time of Pushyamitra the Bahujans could sustain the new history inaugurated by Budha and maintained by Asoka. The treacherous deeds of the Manuvadi Pushyamitra paved the way for the revival of the BSO. Budhism was brutally destroyed by the Hindutva forces with the help of their stooges.

The Budhists were tortured, murdered and they were deprived of their property and means of livelihood and were forced to lead a life of destitution and utter slavery. Budhist monks were either killed or they ran away to Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Burma and Ceylon. In order to sustain this BSO fabricated new history for their new India (the age of the Guptas) through the puranas, epics, srutis and smritis. Today the BSO is doing the same destructive work against Muslims and Christians.

Both Islam and Christianity are liberating religions for Bahujans. We Bahujans had adopted different paths for our emancipation from the clutches of Brahminical masters. Our paths may be different but we belong to the same Dravidian stock having ethnic blood relation. This vital aspect of our history is to be highlighted and propagated against the Brahminical policy of divide and rule. This historical unity is essential for the empowerment of India.

HUMBUG OF “UNITY IN DIVERSITY”

The much publicised “unity in diversity” theory of the BSO has eclipsed our real ethnic and cultural unity. They say that in spite of the linguistic, social and cultural diversity there is an under current of unity. This is nothing but an artificial unity imposed on the Bahujans by the BSO through the institution of caste system

Though the Brahmins form a micro-minority we see their presence in all the states from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It was the forefathers of these Brahmins who enslaved us under casteism suppressing the diverse nationalities of the Bahujans.

From Kashmir to Kanyakumari they could introduce a uniform system of slavery and maintained the same for centuries together. It was this slavery which was acting as the “unity in diversity”.

ISLAM CHALLENGES BRAHMINS

Christianity, Islam and other revolutionary movements of the Bahujans bombarded this slavery or the so-called unity decades back. But we still feel pride in the Brahminical slogan “unity in diversity”. The true unity in our diversity would come out only with the new history.

After the age of the Guptas, which witnessed the revival of Brahminism and their so-called Golden Age, a new era with a new history was inaugurated by the Delhi Sultans which was further maintained by the Mughal rulers. During this time Islam posed a great challenge to the BSO. Jihadi Islam did not compromise with the manuvadis. The process which is fondly called assimilation process by the manuvadis failed for the first time in the history of India before Islam. As a religion of hatred and exploitation, Hinduism survived throughout the ages by hijacking and Aryanising its powerful opponents. This is what is called assimilative potentiality of the BSO. Actually it was neither assimilate nor potentiality but a simple method of killing the opponents of Hindus. It assimilated the Budha and made him the ninth avatar. Also take note that in the Valmiki Ramayana, Rama calls Budha a thief. Brahminism tried to hijack Mohammed and Islam through Allo-upanishad and Bhavishya Purana.

JINNAH OPPOSED PARTITION

The Sudra Shivaji has been Hinduised. Efforts are going on to Hinduise Dr. Ambedkar, Narayana Guru, Ayyankali and other revolutionaries.

It was this failure of the BSO before Islam that constrained them to annihilate Islam through false propaganda and distortion of history.

The Aligarh movement, Jinnah, the Muslim League, Babri Masjid — all these were depicted as symbols of communalism and anti-national elements. It was V.D. Savarkar who first propounded the two-nation theory in 1923 in his book Hindutva. But Jinnah is blamed for the partition of India by the manuvadi historians. Even in 1940 Jinnah said “the two nations in India (Hindus and Muslims) who both must share the governance of their common motherland”. The use of the words “share” and “common motherland” shows that Jinnah did not think of division of the country at that time. All these aspects are to be brought to light in our new history for new India.

MARXIST MISCHIEF

The so-called marxist historians have played much havoc in the historical interpretation. For them economic situation is the only factor that moulds human life and civilization. But Marx and Engels do not approve of the over emphasis given to economic factors. To quote Engels:

“According to materialist conception of history the ultimate determining element in history is the production and reproduction of real life. More than this neither Marx nor I have ever asserted. Hence if somebody twists this into saying that the economic element is the only determining one, he transforms that proportion into a meaningless, abstract, senseless phrase”.

But our so-called marxist writers have produced amazing rubbish by the misinterpretation of historical facts. Engels has prohibited its application to man’s spiritual pursuits, caste, religion, philosophy etc. But our contemporary manuvadi marxist are not prepared to listen to these sane words.

CUNNING BRAHMIN E.M.S.

Only you need read the historical works of E.M.S. Namboothripad to realize the tremendous harm he has done to history. His books —Keralam-Malayalikalude Mathrubhumi, Kerala — Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, National Question in Kerala etc. help us to understand how materialist conception is used to misinterpret Indian history and Kerala society. He went to the extent of saying that caste system is a significant contribution made by the Aryan Brahmins and it was the caste system which paved the way for the development of the modern Kerala culture. He also says that the Keralites should be proud of this Brahminical caste system.

Vivekananda had remarked that Kerala was a lunatic asylum because of the rigid caste system prevailed under the patronage of the Brahmins and Nairs.

No wonder if the lunatic asylum of Vivekananda becomes a Dharmarajya in the marxian history of the cunning Brahmin E.M.S. Where facts are absent he creates them with the help of assumed models where facts are present he ignores them, if they do not fit in the models.

MARXISM HINDUISED

According to Marx the rule of proletariat can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions (in India it is the BSO) through a proletarian movement. The Brahmins were neither the proletariat nor formed the lowest stratum of Indian society. The doctrine of Marx encouraged the proletariat movement to protect the interest of that class and forcible overthrow of the ruling class into the air. Communism declares: “Let the ruling class tremble at the communistic revolution”, but the pseudo-marxists in India put it in the reverse order and declared: “Let the working class tremble at the Brahminic counter revolution”. This is what we see today in West Bengal, Kerala and other parts of India.

The Manuvadis became marxist only to hijack marxism and hinduise the doctrine through sanskritisation.

They became marxists to realize two goals. (1) They threatened the British authority with a prospect of proletarian revolution to bargain for early transfer of power. (2) They endeavored to divert and damage the paridly growing revolutionary movement of the suppressed classes of India under the leadership of Dr. Ambedkar, E.V.R, Sree Narayana Guru and many others. The leaders hijacked and completely hinduised marxism before the producer class came to know about it. We should note that marxism can be used as an effective tool to analyse the BSO as Marx himself has exposed the nature of Hinduism as an engine of tyranny.

It can also be noted that the manuvadi marxists have failed to understand Karl Marx statement that India had no history. For Marx there can be no history without class struggle and that is why India without class struggle is without history too. But Dr. Ambedkar has explained this view of Marx saying that Indian history has been a struggle between Budhism and Brahminism. This confirms the marxian view that in pre-capital social systems class struggle may take either political or ideological form. This class struggle in the Indian context was perhaps muted and unrecorded during the very long influence of Brahminical supremacy. This significant aspect should be elucidated in our new history for new India.

INDEPENDENCE MAKES BRAHMIN AS RULER

Everywhere in the world the enslaved people could win freedom from the foreign yoke in a fine morning. But India won freedom at midnight when the masses were asleep. Nevertheless the ruling class was awake and alert and won the freedom from the British. Actually it was not a process of wining freedom but transfer of power from the British to the Indian ruling class. In effect it was not a war of independence but a war of dependents (the ruling class of India).

The true history tells us that the Bahujans, the original inhabitants of India, had been the real rulers of this country. The BSO enslaved them usurped power and became their masters. It was under this circumstance that India was brought under Western imperialism. Here arise a relevant question, who lost independence under Western imperialism? The traditional ruling class or their slaves, the Bahujans? The slave class had already lost their freedom before the coming of the foreign masters, under the indigenous manuvadi rulers. Hence it was these manuvadi masters who lost freedom under the British rule. We had nothing to lose but the shackles presented by the oppressors. These oppressors became good servants of their British masters.

HISTORY DISTORTED

Our great brother VTR has taught us that the Brahmins are good servants but bad masters. To the British they were good servants and to the Bahujans they are bad masters. It was to these “servants of India” that the power was transferred at midnight on Aug.15, 1947. In the pretext of democracy they maintained aristocracy and oligarchy through mind manipulation of the illiterate masses of India.

In the history fabricated by the manuvadis the movements and events connected with the so-called upper castes are depicted as national history. And the movements and events initiated by the Bahujans are depicted as caste movements of narrow outlook.

To our children leaders like Dayananda Saraswati, Tilak, Rajaram Mohan Roy, Patel, Gandhi and Nehru are national leaders. But revolutionary leaders like Phule, Dr. Ambedkar, Sir Sayed Ahmad Khan, Sree Narayana Guru, Ayyankali and EVR are regional leaders.

The social revolution of great magnitude that occurred in Kerala was never seen as a part of national history. A social revolution was set in motion by Sree Narayana Guru and the great Malayalam poet, Kumaran Asan. This movement electrified not only the suppressed masses but also the upper strata of the society and brought about a total revolution in Kerala.

WHY BRITISH QUIT INDIA

This great historical process had revolutionized the life of a larger number of people than the combined forces of Brahmo Samaj, Arya Samaj and other organizations could effect on people all over India. Similar instances can be derived from the history of other states also. It is needless to say that only a new history can do justice to these neglected chapters of great magnitude.

Regarding freedom struggle or the so-called war of independence, it has been believed that the British decided to quit India since they were scared of the gandhian satyagraha movement. A critical study of the war of dependents would prove that it was not the satyagraha or the passive resistance initiated by M.K. Gandhi that forced the British to quit India.

In fact it was the Second World War which came to an end in 1945 that prepared the ground for the withdrawal of the British. In effect the satyagraha movement delayed the achievement of freedom which could have been achieved much earlier by Subhash Chandra Bose and other revolutionary leaders of the freedom movement.

SUBHAS BOSE STABBED IN THE BACK

Subhash had realized that it was the military force of the British that enabled them to sustain their imperial policies in India. That is why he organized the Indian National Army and sought the help of Japan and other nations which were fighting against the British. But Gandhi and Nehru stabbed him in the back and he was forced to leave India broken hearted. Even today the Govt. of India is reluctant to hand over the confidential reports regarding the disappearance of Bose to the commission of enquiry.

It should also be noted tat Gandhi cooperated with the British authorities during the first and second world wars and had won awards and titles from the Britishers. In South Africa, he joined the British army and obtained the military rank of Sergeant-Major.

He took part in the Boer and Zulu wars against the Blacks by serving the British army. (V.T. Rajshekar, Why Godse Killed Gandhi?, DSA-1997).

GANDHIAN HUMBUG

This Gandhian humbug should be revealed to prove that Gandhi was not a mahatma in the strict sense of the term. Gandhi opposed all the movements for social equality and justice. Gandhi’s “Poona Pact”, fast-unto death was nothing but a declaration of war against the Untouchables and not against untouchability. He helped hit the last nail on the coffin of the Untouchables’ future. That is why Dr. Ambedkar declared that Gandhi as the Enemy No.1 of the Dalits.

Gandhi cannot be a mahatma because he brought no transformation in the lives of the deprived and the dehumanized. His salt satyagraha is included in all the history textbooks but the “Poona Pact” fast unto death is being cunningly excluded from the books given to our children. This should be exposed in our new history for new India.

CHANGE NATIONAL ANTHEM

In this context of nationalism and freedom struggle we have to rewrite the national anthem which is neither national nor anthem. The Janaganamana and the Bharat Bhagyavidhata clearly indicate that it referred to George-V. The Vande Mataram originated in an anti-Muslim background has also become anti-national. Our new India will summarily reject such fanatic and undemocratic Hindutva literature.

The major part of the available history of India is the history of the upper castes, by the upper castes and for the upper castes. This should be changed into the history of the people, by the people and for the people. This task is to be undertaken by the educated and enlightened Bahujans of the country. We need social engineers to build a new India, the India of the indigenous people.

Our struggle for social justice and equality fails mainly because of the fact that we are not fully aware of the history of social injustice done to us. To know the history of social injustice we should study the social history of our country which is being cunningly eclipsed by the pseudo historians of the BSO. As the social history remains hidden we fail to realize the much awaited unity of the Bahujans and the minorities. Let us move hand in hand to know our past and the present to shape a golden future through a cultural revolution. Hence the need for a new history for new India.

AMBEDKARITES BEWARE

Cowards & hinduised Budhists have finished Budha’s Dhamma

ANIL RANGARI, BHARATI APARTMENT, GURUNANAK NAGAR, DURG - 491 001

I have done a thorough study of the Buddha & His Dhamma by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar which had given me three inspirations — (1) knowledge should be acquire unto death (whole life), (2) live a righteous/moral life unto death (whole life), (3) serve the society unto death — means fight unto death for the solution of problems (sufferings) of society.

My above conclusions on the Buddha & His Dhamma are 100% right. But it could not inspire me for two things which are most important in life:- (1) Right education in right time means one should complete his right and highest education in early age and (2) one must acquire qualification and effective knowledge to fight in any legal court and parliament (higher authority) to solve the genuine problems of society—specially of the persecuted people denied human rights. The Dhamma must inspire these two.

MANUFACTURE OF MANU SMRITI

In the Glimpses of World History, Jawaharlal Nehru accepted that in the varna system itself there were the seeds of its decline and fall. Its foundation was built to establish inequality and injustice forever. To weaken the Budhists, Brahmins used various strategies like meditation, incarnation, distorting Budhist philosophy etc. Budha was made one of the ten incarnations of Vishnu. This is what Nehru, a Brahmin, has said

Budha and Ashok challenged inequality, injustice and the discriminatory system of Chaturvarna and brought about a revolution in whole India —seriously affecting the Brahmins. So the Brahmins planed a counter-revolution under the leadership of Pushyamitra Sung and Sumati Bhargav, both Brahmins.

WHEN MEDITATION WAS INTRODUCED

After the murder of Budhist king Brihadath by his senapati Pushyamitra Sung and the massacre of countless bhikkhus, the Brahmins manufactured the Manusmriti, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Gita and other smritis to defeat and strengthen their Brahmin Social Order (BSO).

Only the revolutionary Dhamma raised voice against varna system (BSO). So the Brahmins became very angry, entered Budhism, distorted the original Budhist literature and incorporated new, confused and superstitious literature in the name of Budha to keep the bhikhus always engaged in meditation, dhyana techniques to experience hallucinatory nibban or Buddhatva (free from rebirth) so that they remain far away from social revolution.

There was a conspiracy of Brahmin bhikhus in all Budhist sects to finish Budhism and help strengthen Brahminism — the Manuvadi system of their kith and kin.

Budhism teaches two ideals of life: (1) nirvan. Each householder can attain nirvan by practising Astangmarg until death. To know and live a rational and righteous life is called Nirvan. (2) Arhat bhikhu — the Budha — means intellectual and committed person.

The qualification to become an Arhat bhikkhu is one must become parivrajak, intellectual and live a rational and righteous life and at the same time preach dhamma and serve the society. Striving to solve the problems of the society is the main duty of the Arhat bhikkhu (Budha). In today’s language Siddharth Gautam was a parivrajak Budha and Babasaheb Ambedkar was a householder Budha.

BRAHMIN BHIKKHUS DISTORTED BUDHISM

Dr. Ambedkar thoroughly defined and explained about nibban and bhikkhus in the Buddha & His Dhamma. The Hinyan sect used the word arhat where as the Mahayan sect inserted the word Bodhisatva and both divided themselves into many subsects and developed and incorporated Brahminic concepts into Budhism and thereby made Budhism inactive and far removed from the main object of the Budha.

To become free from rebirth, attain nirvan or budhatva, Brahmin bhikkhus distorted, incorporated and developed 37 bodhipakshiya dharm and 40 karmasthan so that the activist bhikkhus waste their whole life in practising them. Compare these with MA, PhD, MSc, DSc, LLD, DLit, LLB, Bar at Law — the magnificent degrees — of Babasaheb Ambedkar, his work and 22 volumes published by Maharashtra Govt. which are more effective and powerful to fight Brahminism.

In modern times, the so-called practices of meditation, dhyan, vipassana, vegetarianism, nonviolence — preached by TBM, Rajnish, Goenka — go against the principles of Budha and hence it is not Dhamma. Only such practices— peaceful or fighting — which will help solve the problems (sufferings) of the society and bring social and economic justice and equality can alone be Dhamma.

Knowing this why Babasaheb had chosen the wrong and unscientific qualification of 10 lives of Bodhisatva and become a Budha from Mahayan sect in his book Buddha & His Dhamma? This question puzzled me for 30 years. Budha never preached 10 lives (stages) for becoming a Budha. These imaginary concepts were developed by the Mahayan to keep the bhikhus far removed from the problems of society and get them engaged in useless meditations. There is hardly any scientific Budhist in the world who took note of this. Babasaheb himself asked the Budhists to take human problem for discussion and throw light on these problems.

NO REVOLT AGAINST BRAHMINS TILL PHULE

After giving up asceticism Budha did four weeks of meditation (thinking) to achieve enlightenment. On the night of the last day of the fourth week he obtained the right enlightenment (Samma Bodhi). The question is how Gautam completed ten paramitas with ten lives one by one simultaneously by merely sitting in meditation in four weeks?

Is this true? Last three lives are unnecessary. Because all the strivings on the part of Bodhisatva ceased after the seventh life. There is nothing to do after the seventh life. Why then three extra lives? It is absurd to say that paramitas can be completed in past birth or by meditation without practical efforts (karma)? It is absurd to say that Budha achieved divine eye (reasoned mind) by meditation without vast study and right thinking. Just as wrong prescriptions (medicine) harm the patient or even take his life, wrong teachings or practices (qualification) to attain Buddhatva will harm or leads one to waste his life for nothing and thereby harm the society.

WHO ADDED CHAPTER-4 TO DR. AMBEDKAR BOOK

This is the reason why there was no revolt against the Manusmriti and Brahminism until the revolution started by Jyotirao Phule.

In the Mahayan Sanskrit literature there are only six paramitas and ten lives whereas in the hinyan Pali literature there is nothing about ten lives but only paramitas and these are all distorted and incorporated after the mahparinirvan of Budha.

Maximum literature was written on imaginary concepts of Brahminism. Brahmin bhikhus incorporated varna system even for Budha. They wrote:

A Brahmin named Sumedha became Bodhisatva and entered the womb of only Yashodhara, the queen of Kshatriya varna. Budha can never take birth in lower caste sudra vansha and a woman can never become Budha.

Was Budha the rebirth of a Brahmin? If Budha can be the rebirth of a Brahmin Bodhisatva, why Budha cannot be the incarnation of Vishnu? Bodhisatva is an imaginary concept of god’s incarnation incorporated in Budhism by the Mahayana Brahmin bhikhus and anant Bodhisatva means anant Devi-Devta-Avalokiteshwar.

Babasaheb Ambedkar completed the chapter of Budha’s enlightenment in part 4/3. Why the publisher added the chapter 4/4 about the ten lives of Bodhisatva? This part (4/4) will not suit, fit and hence inconsistent with the Buddha & His Dhamma.

Babasaheb many times deleted, added and corrected many parts and its contents while writing the book, Buddha & His Dhamma. In the life of Budhists or oppressed society Buddhatva (Budha) is the highest ideal who always fights for the causes of suffering people in every time (yug). This very ideal was corrupted and distorted by the Brahmin bhikkhus so that any activist would waste his life in meditation or in confusion and never achieve the vast powerful and effective knowledge (capacity) to fight BSO.

DR. AMBEDKAR GREATER THAN BUDHA

It is wrong and unjust to call Babasaheb Ambedkar as Bodhisatva. Babasaheb was thousands time greater than the Budha both in knowledge and action. Babasaheb had acquired a vast knowledge to answer any question on any current problem.

That does not mean Budha was not great. Every father is always great for his children. Budha being the founder of rational, moral, humanistic and revolutionary dhamma (Budhism) is always greater for his followers and respected by all in the world.

Budha’s dhamma should not be confined to statue worshipping, prayers, chanting of suttas or meditation, vipassana, or visit of holy places, customs, rituals. Practical following of the dhamma strategies, tactics, doctrines and principles individually or collectively to liberate self-slavery and the society from the sufferings and oppressions are more important than prayers and meditation.

Did not Dr. Ambedkar says:

The doctrines and principles of Budhism itself are effective and revolutionary remedies to change the injustice and unequal system of society. People must study, understand and practice them properly.

Benazir killed for stooging USA

BRIG. (RETD.) USMAN KHALID, LONDON REPRESENTATIVE

It is myopic of India to be joyous at the discomfiture of Pakistan. What we have is a war — for the liberation of Afghanistan — being fought on the soil of Pakistan. Benazir took the wrong side and lost. Musharraf is on the same side and would lose too. But the people of Pakistan are more resolute, mature and steady than their politicians. Pakistan will come out of the crisis chastened and wiser. I am sure India does not see it that way.

Conspiracy with Karzai: A week is a long time in politics, it is said. But sometimes a day is a long time. Dec. 27, 2007 was one such day. In the morning Benazir met President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan. The beaming smiles and the doting eyes were too obvious to miss. She was introduced to him as the future Prime Minister and her self-confidence in the inevitability of her becoming the Prime Minister was rising by the minute. But fate had the final say. Her joyous address to the people of Rawalpindi at Liaqat Bagh was to be her last public engagement. This was the very same place where another Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan was shot dead. Looking for parallels of ‘history repeating itself’ is a common journalistic practice but often a sterile exercise. But it is impossible not to admire the raw courage of Pakistan’s assassinated leaders, which is matched by the cool brutality of their assassins. This is something to lament. More important, it is something to understand.

Liaqat mistake: Each assassination was different. Liaqat Ali Khan became unpopular when he agreed to a ‘cease fire’ in Kashmir just as Pakistan Army was poised to win. A precedent already existed. India had invaded and captured the State of Hyderabad disregarding the wish of its ruler to stay ‘independent’. India asserted it was a Hindu-majority state and the wish of its Muslim ruler was of no value. But Kashmir is a Muslim-majority state and the wish of its Hindu ruler was likewise of no consequence. But India sent in its troops when Maharaja’s forces had been routed by the people of Kashmir and tribal lashkars. Liaqat Ali Khan was accused of betrayal. The person who shot him dead was not driven by that betrayal but the public looked at it as ‘Divine justice’. Since the political class continues to write the history of Pakistan; the peoples’ verdict is not a part of our official view of history.

Bhutto to gallows: Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was assassinated by persons well known with motives equally well known. He wanted to make the political class sensitive to the hopes and aspirations of the ordinary working people. He re-built the morale shattered by the defeat in 1971 but also upset the erstwhile privileged classes – the clerics, the feudals and the bureaucracy. By themselves they were ineffective; they sought the blessing of the USA who wanted to punish Bhutto for his nuclear programme started in the wake of India’s nuclear tests in 1974. The USA got its protégé – Zia ul Haq – appointed as the COAS and used him to overthrow Bhutto Govt. This time the Army had overthrown a popular leader. General Zia had to have law on his side. He used the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court to send Bhutto to the gallows. Thus started a new chapter of history in which the judges and the generals became accomplices in violation of law and the Constitution.

Musharraf mistake: Musharraf came to power in a coup d’etat in 1999 after four successive administrations over ten years - Benazir and Nawaz Sharif each elected twice - failing spectacularly. It appeared like normal succession - bloodless and joyous. Then Musharraf decided he must perpetuate himself in power. A concern for law and the Constitution, for public hopes and aspirations, evaporated not only from the political class but also the military brass. Politics became a game to be played in tandem with the military or the super-rich; even support from the enemy – India – came to be seen as kosher.

US conspiracy: That is when the judiciary under Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry came to take suo moto notice of gross violations of law. TV channels in the private sector, driven by demand, started to provide factual information and a class of credible commentators came to the fore. It suddenly became clear that without ‘rule of law’ and ‘free media’ democracy was impossible. The quest for restoration of democracy has become linked in the public mind to the resumption of broadcast by Geo TV and the reinstatement of the judges who refused to take oath on the PCO on Nov. 3. Significantly, neither the US Govt. nor Benazir attached any value to this link. Is it because the free media is seen by the US as a threat to its war on terror? Perhaps not. It is more likely that America sees ‘fair judges’ and ‘free media’ to be a threat to their protégé – Musharraf. One thing, however, is quite clear and certain; the ministers of Musharraf were quickly exposed to be incompetent liars. There was a need for an articulate and charismatic leader as spokesman.

Benazir stooge of US: Benazir was world class in charisma; one just wanted to believe her. With her support to the US war on terror, the war just might be won. She took the bait and might have been seen to be making headway. But the ‘resistance’ speaks the language of bombs and bullets. The Afghans have always fought outsiders and driven them out. There are three times as many Pashtun in Pakistan than in Afghanistan. They are one people. They see NATO forces as occupiers and President Hamid Karzai as their collaborator. Benazir condemned all resistance. Unlike Musharraf, she had the ability to nuance her comments. She did not have to condemn all fighters as terrorists; most of them constitute genuine resistance to occupation. She paid a heavy price for her lack of care in choice of words. Would leaders in the West and the Muslim World learn a lesson?

“CASTE IDENTITY”

When upper castes are so clear on caste why only our people are confused ?

MANJOOR GOPALAN, “SURABHI”, KANAKKARY, KERALA - 686 632

This refers to the article of S.P. Ashok (DV Dec.1, 2007 p.6). The “caste identity” theory of our Editor has influenced India’s oppressed castes very much socially and politically. In his book, Caste — A Nation Within the Nation, he presents a social theory as well as political theory. His theory has influenced politicians like Mayawati. She has asked the Bahujan castes (SC/ST/BCs) to unite politically on the basis of caste. The “caste identity” thesis inspired the Bahujans to come under one umbrella and capture political power in UP.

Our Editor said:

Caste is not dead. It will never be dead. It is alive and going strong. Every caste is alive. Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of Brahmins and Banias. There are parties for Jats, Khammas, Marathas, Nairs, Syrian Christians. It is good that each jati has its own party. We must encourage it. (Weapons to Fight Counter Revolution, p.48, DSA-2002).

Upper caste stooges: The oppressed castes must know that there is no difficulty in understanding the thesis of our Editor. If our own people do not understand we can simply take that they are nothing but stooges of upper castes. Babasaheb Ambedkar never asked us to annihilate our castes. He asked only the upper castes (Hindus) to annihilate their castes. The argument that the caste theory will promote casteism is baseless, mischievous and malicious.

The Editor has clearly said that “caste is good but casteism is bad”. Casteism will disappear when social justice and social equality are established.

Bloodless revolution: Our Editor has stressed the need to promote caste consciousness leading to caste consolidation. He said:

The loss of caste consciousness among the Bahujans has led to the loss of identity which in turn has led to the loss of political power. When a community is deprived of political power, it is said to have lost the key to its community’s progress. Since all the Bahujans are politically insignificant, they cannot unlock the door of progress closed to them. That is how all these communities have become weak and poor in every aspect. (Caste — A Nation Within the Nation, p.38).

He adds:

We can win the war without even raising our sword against the enemy. Caste consolidation and “caste identity” will lead to a bloodless revolution. The upper caste victims may not willingly surrender but will violently resist it. That is the miracle of “caste identity” — a permanent and cheap panacea for every Indian illness. (Ibid p.52).

Caste is greater than party : Gujarat example

Brahmins are the only people who have understood the danger of our “caste identity” theory and that is why not a single daily paper or journal reviewed our book on caste. While the four varnas under the Brahminical order are keeping their castes in tact, marrying within their jati, recruiting their own jati people in both govt. and private sector, they have confused our people to speak against caste. Gujarat’s Patels, Banias and Brahmins — the three upper castes — revolted against Nanrendra Modi because he belonged to the low caste Ghanchi (oil-crushing jati). These upper castes loved BJP only as long as they were controlling it. When a Ghanchi became its boss, they did not bother even to kick their favourite party (BJP).

Brahmins and all other upper castes were originaly in the Congress but when the party started talking of Dalits and Muslims they formed another party, BJP.

Such is the love of the upper castes for their jatis. But SC/ST/BCs of Gujarat do not love their jati. They want caste annihilation and to defend their argument they even misquote Babasaheb — EDITOR.Brahmins are the only people who have understood the danger of our “caste identity” theory and that is why not a single daily paper or journal reviewed our book on caste. Will dollar collapse lead to collapse of capitalism ?

COM. AYYANKALI

There is nothing much to say about the global economy except that problems seem to be worsening to catastrophic levels not seen before. That is actually an understatement. Because all this will surely affect India also. Suffice to tell you that at this rate, you might see even a shoot out within the White House.

Market rumours are that Citibank Group will simply crash and collapse due to the subprime thing. Do not believe what the media says. Not even the tip of the iceberg seems to be coming out. Lots of very unpleasant surprises are in store for 2008 including an Iran war. A WASP faction within the CIA has doctored the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) in such a way that Bush and the Jews are finding it difficult to go to war.

US election to be rigged: The NIE said that Iran stopped its nuke weapon programme. This has rattled the zionists who have sent an Israeli delegation to blackmail/bribe and coerce the White House. They are determined to manufacture some reason or “incident” to blame Iran and start the war somehow. Even the 2008 US Presidential elections will be rigged by doctoring the electronic voting machines’ software just like last time.

This time there may even be a civil war in the US due to this. We may be destined to see a hell of a lot of things. Who knows, we might see the death of zionism and also the final collapse of capitalism like what happened in Argentina recently, just like the Great Depression.

Arab fatwa against dollar: The Wahabi religious establishment of Saudi Arabia has issued a fatwa against the US dollar . This bears watching. A message issued by 26 leading clerics warns that inflation has reached intolerable levels in the Gulf kingdom. While it does not vilify the dollar explicitly, the apparent political aim is to undermine the country’s dollar peg. “The rulers should seek to try to remedy this crisis in a way that would ease people’s suffering”, according to a London Telegraph report.

The statement was posted across the Islamic world. The background to this has been a raging debate in Gulf religious and economic circles about the destructive effects of the sliding dollar. Among the lead-authors is Sheikh Nasser al-Omar, known for his fatwa against US-led forces in Iraq. He has long preached the collapse of American-led capitalism, and now sees a perfect moment to plunge the knife.

The Gulf has roughly $3.5 trillions under management in wealth funds and central banks, so a dollar shift makes waves.

Qatar has already slashed the dollar holding of its future generation fund from 40% to 98%.

China throttles US: Meanwhile, an effort by China to convert its $1.4 trillion US treasury holdings into euros is not viable for many reasons — not the least of which is the European Central Bank’s inability to absorb such an event. As China continues its rush away from supporting US Treasuries and as Middle Eastern investors are buying them up in more diversified holdings, a new “currency exchange” is unfolding. Realizing that they cannot liquidate their holdings, it appears that the Chinese are currently using their US Treasury holdings as collateral for euro-denominated purchases and long term infrastructure transactions.

In other words, they may be “liquidating” their holdings as collateral and, in so doing, effectively migrating to non-dollar value without ever having to officially dump their current Treasury holdings. Therefore, collateralize the credit in dollars — especially if you’re long in dollars. The lender/financier won’t call the note because you have it structured in such a way to both allow it to perform and hold illiquid collateral that no one wants. This essentially inflates euros. Although you can’t sell dollars, the whole purpose of collateral is that it is a second source of payment — collateral is there to down rate the risk of the loan. Secondary becomes irrelevant. When February comes, the Chinese are going to do something as they will have to decide what the exposure is going to be with the treasury. As I see it they have to just dump the treasury.
