Dalit - Muslim discord led to Gujarat Genocide-2002

In a brief report the Editor has already given his opinion on the May 20-21, 2006 Ahmedabad DV workshop for our DV family members.

Though all the invited DV family members did not attend, torch-bearers of Gujarat Dalit movement like Rameshchandra Parmar, Valjibhai Patel, Dr. K.C. Parmar, P.K. Valera, IAS (retd.), Shaikh Ibrahim, Anwar Baigh Mirja Sarpanch, M.S. Shaikh, all oldest members of the DV family, attended who for unknown reasons had remained aloof for a long time.

Frustration: Many new members showed great enthusiasm. Dr. Bharat Jhunjhunwala from Delhi was a special invitee. The veterans explained to the workshop the reasons for their lack of interest as a sort of frustration due to success of Brahminic mischiefs to wean away Dalits from the fold of secular and Ambedkarite forces. Brahminical forces created a discord between Dalits and Muslims. The methodology was very well explained.

Small Dalit population: The grip of these Dalit veterans, all close associates of our Editor, on the societal and political affairs of Gujarat came as a big surprise to us. The younger DV members took their experience, knowledge and confidence as a bright torch around which younger Dalits can still gather to carry the Ambedkarite message.

The peculiarity of Gujarat is that it has only 7% Dalit population —even lesser than that of the Muslims who are 10%. Tribal population (ST) is more than their combined population. It is this ST population which became the first target of Brahminic hate forces supported by upper castes. The lack of resources to contact the scattered Tribals on the part of SCs is the main drawback for Ambedkarite movement. This lack of resources was and is being fully made use of to indoctrinate the Tribals by the RSS and its goons for whom resources are in plenty.

Muslims as main target: Muslims have always been the fodder and grit of the Brahminic all-powerful hate machine.

And if they are made to be beaten up by Dalits not only their desire of Dalit-Muslim unity will be a pipe dream, but also they will fight with each other.

Such a well calculated scheme yielded spectacular results in the Gujarat Muslim genocide of 2002.

We have to carefully move ourselves in this jigsaw puzzle. This is what the Dalit veterans feel.

These are my general impressions. But more has to come from the old veterans who have decided to come together again.

Savarna maoists deceive Dalits better than Hindu terrorists

Savarna CPI-so-called “Maoist” has been making a lot of noise about how it will liberate the working class as well as Dalits. Latin American and African tribes always had their own versions of what Marx called “primitive communism” which Adivasis in India have also practiced —a culture which savarna CPI-so-called-”Maoist” is destroying through its own version of sanskritisation and Hinduisation.

This feudal and casteist savarna socialist party is planning to have an endless and never ending transition towards full fledged communism without giving up state capitalism and monopolising the state machinery and bureaucratic apparatus by means of endogamy and invisible casteist apartheid dictatorship.

Mother tongue mania: They may even justify hereditary successsion and rule like that of the Kim dynasty in revisionist North Korea. In such a regime, mother tongue mania will be promoted to frenetic heights unheard of before so as to ensure that the Bahujan proletarian nationalities can never communicate in a single common language like English and link up with other Negroid proletarians across the world or take over the leadership.

Already, the Nepali Brahmin Maoist Party boss, Prachanda, has made Manuvadi moves to ensure monopoly bourgeoisie English medium education for his son and daughter and deny it to others. Also, savarna state capitalist bureaucratic burgeoissie scum are sexual conservatives and rustic feudals to whom anything like Comrade Alexandra Kollontai’s (Lenin’s contemporary) glass of water theory of sex will not sound anything except the greatest taboo, sacrilege, blasphemy and heresy even though it has the potential to undermine the savarna family system and property relations. How can such conservative fellows be expected to finish off the institution of the family and implement full-fledged communism?

Savarnas love caste system: Caste, endogamy and family loving savarna conservatives will, therefore, never allow the family to wither away due to the kind of free sexual relations practiced by Adivasis in primitive communist collective institutions called ghotuls — something which Comrade Kollontai would have endorsed. savarna conservatives dismiss the currently fashionable “living-in” culture as bourgeoisie decadence, they seem least interested in setting up any communes to fight the family system. After all, without smashing endogamy it will not be possible to finish of caste system or achieve full-fledged communism, especially in a country like India where the family is still intact.

When decades of state capitalist central planning in Eastern Europe only ended up creating a caste of bureaucratic bourgeoisie elite which controlled political power using the family system, what can we expect from the rustic and feudal savarna Brahminical Maoists of India? These rustic and feudal savarnas shudder at the mere thought of Dalits learning the English language which they have monopolised as a Devabhasha. These conservative rural rustic feudal obscurantist reactionary savarna socialists fear pop stars like Britney Spears and Madonna as well as Western capitalist divorce culture precisely because it undermines savarna family system.

Brahmin girls sex with beef-eaters: Brahmins and savarnas pretend to fight capitalism because it brings in English language, pornstar-popstar Brittney Spears, Salsa dancing, beef eating, vodka-drinking culture which the savarnas are scared of because market decides everything and not the Brahmin priests. In their heart of hearts, the savarna swine are worried their girls would marry, live-in, or have sex with beef-eating “bastards” (meaning Dalits). Also Western dance and Salsa would finish off savarna patriarchal domination of culture like the Bharatanatyam.

These typical urban Brahminical leaders of savarna Manuvadi Maoist parties, who are essentially rural rustic, feel extremely inferior when they listen to Western pop music and cannot comprehend it. These culturally alienated and estranged, mostly “middle class” Brahmin and savarnas, then claim to hate such imported Western imperialist culture, only because they cannot understand it though they desperately want to be with it and cool.

When deprived of upper mobility in Westernised urban society, these middle class savarnas simply become jealous of those who can comprehend as well as understand Western culture, dance and music. So, these rural rustic scum struck with a major inferiority complex decry Western capitalist culture as “decadent” and “imperialist” even without understanding head or tail or what is progressive and what is not. Such rural rustic scum have no idea that jazz originated from Negro “slave” music or that rhythm-n-blues is almost a progressive “Negro” fine art. The sheer agony and jealousy of savarnas cannot be explained in words when “upstart” convent-educated, English-speaking, beef-eating Christian “low” caste converts confidently impress savarna girls and date them, leaving the savarna rustic male in a constant state of humiliation.

RSS-Maoists think alike & act alike: That is how the rural rustic savarna male seeks refuge in “maoism” and dubs all Western culture as “decadent”, imperialist and bourgeoisie.

Such savarnas fear that English will convert Dalits into feudal lords, despite India not likely to develop the material conditions to support such medieval English feudalism. It is better to confine Dalits to their mother tongue and get them sanskritised rather than pick up English and get Westernised in the process. In this way the Brahminical RSS Hindu terrorists and maoists think alike and act alike.

These savarna maoists are more cunning and more dangerous compared to simpletons like their Hindu nazi brethren. They know that honest Hindu nazism is a grossly inferior tactic which will end in definite failure. That is why these savarna naxalites adopt “socialist” tactics to control capitalism to their advantage minus the live-in, Salsa-dancing, pornstar-popstar culture and English which will finish off their cultural hegemony. Naxalites resorted to moral policing in Nepal. Maoist Bhattarai’s temporary honest statement, “There is a tendency to see feudalism as better than capitalism”, must be seen. That means the bureaucratic dictatorship under state capitalism will perpetually postpone full-fledged communism indefinitely. They will go on quoting Lenin and Mao to prove that full-fledged communism still has a long long way to go. Such savarna socialists will ensure that maoism will become the new opium of the Dalits.


Anti-Dalit remarks of Gandhi

The following quotations are taken from M.K. Gandhi’s own writings to prove how the Mahatma was a rabid casteist and downright anti-Dalit:-

If the shudras (low castes) leave their ancestral profession and take up others, ambition will rouse in them and their peace of mind will be spoiled. Even their family peace will be disturbed. (Hind Swaraj).

I believe in the varnashrama (caste system) which is the law of life. The law of varna (color and/or caste) is nothing but the law of conservation of energy. Why should my son not be scavenger if I am one? (Harijan, 3-6-1947).

He (shudra, low caste) may not be called a Brahmin (uppermost caste), though he (shudra) may have all the qualities of a Brahmin in this birth. And it is a good thing for him (shudra) not to arrogate a varna (caste) to which he is not born. It is a sign of true humility (Young India, 11-4-1927).

According to Hindu belief, he who practices a profession which does not belong to him by birth, does violence to himself and becomes a degraded being by not living up to the varna (caste) of his birth (Young India, 11-4-1927).

As years go by, the conviction is daily growing upon me that varna (caste) is the law of man’s being, and therefore, caste is necessary for Christians and Muslims as it has been necessary for Hinduism and has been its saving grace. (Speech at Trivandrum, Collection of Speeches, Ramanath Suman, 1932).

I would resist with my life the separation of Untouchables from the caste Hindus. The problems of the Untouchable community is of comparatively little importance (London RTC, 1931).

I call myself a sanatana man, one who firmly believes in the caste system (Dharma Manthan, p.4).

I believe in caste division determined by birth and the very root caste division lies in birth (Varna Vyavastha, p.76-77).

The four castes and the four stages of life are things to be attained by birth alone (Dharma Manthan p.6).

Caste means the predetermination of a man’s profession. Caste implies that a man must practice only the profession of his ancestors for his livelihood (Varna Vyavastha, pp.28, 56, 68).

Shudra only serves the higher castes as a matter of religious duty and who will never own any property. The gods will shower down flowers on him. (Ibid p.15)

I have noticed that the very basis of our thought have been severely shaken by Western civilization which is the creation of the Satan (dharma Manthan, p.65).

How is it possible that the antyaja (outcastes) should have the right to enter all the existing temples? As long as the law of caste and karma has the chief place in the Hindu religion, to say that every Hindu can enter every temple is a thing that is not possible today (Gandhi Sikshan, Vol.11, p.132).

The caste system can’t be said to be bad because it does not allow inter-dining and inter-marriages in different castes (Gandhi by Shiru, p.129).

The caste system, in my opinion, has a scientific basis. Reason does not revolt against it. It has disadvantages. Caste creates a social and moral restraint — I can find no reason for their abolition. To abolish caste is to demolish Hinduism. There is nothing to fight against the Varnashrama (caste system). I don’t believe the caste system to be an odious and vicious dogma. It has its limitations and defects, but there is nothing sinful about it. (Harijan, 1933).

DV connects Dalits with Blacks & oppressed of whole world

V.T. Rajshekar has been a radical critic of social structures whose vision has had a global reach. He has seen not just caste division in India alone but also the class and racial inequalities in-built into all the systems in the West, also, whether “right” or “left”. Rajshekar’s Dalitist vision of society has provided an conceptual tool that has helped me analyze the societies and high literatures in the West. My main conclusion from my Ambedkarite analysis has been that upper caste (Hindu) English poets could not become genuine comrades of the emancipatory movements of the poor.

WORDSWORTH AS BRAHMINIST

Poet William Wordsworth was an example. He was born as an English aristocrat. Yet in his early verse he came close to standing with the ordinary uneducated Dalit classes oppressed by the rich castes. Yet he could not make his final break with his caste origin. His Aryan blood proved too thick.

Wordsworth witnessed in France the French Revolution. He saw how the French Dalit and Backward Castes (OBCs) peasants and workers tried to bend and utilize that Revolution to make it free them. Wordsworth and his educated French friends saw this thrust to self-empowerment by the French Dalits and OBCs. At first

“elate we looked../ saw in rudest men

Self sacrifice the firmest; generous love

and continence of mind, and sense of right;

Uppermost in the midst of fiercest strife.

Would Wordsworth be able to focus on the dignity the Revolution brought to poor individuals, the poor Susans, the Simon Lees, the Michaels and Eldreds — all the once-alive oppressed individuals he had painted so clearly in first youth? Yet already he had aristocratic, Brahminical impulses to dismiss those French masses as just “the laboring multitude” characterized by “ignorance.”

RACIST ARYANS

A Dalitist Ambedkarite analysis would stand with, not oppose, Wordsworth as he outgrew the passionate but erroneous commitment of his youth to the bourgeois French revolution. He was right to denounce and condemn the Revolution for the inhumanity it reaped — as long as his condemnation would just be of the racist bourgeois Aryan elements that hijacked the Revolution from the Dalit peasants and working masses.

The bourgeois middle-caste Aryans who captured the French Revolution spoke about “equality” but they did not apply it to Africans.

Wordsworth exposed the crimes of Napoleon’s France as that dictator turned on the Negro people who rose up in Haiti. Toussaint L’Ouverture led the Black masses there in their struggle for independence. But in his To Toussaint L’Ouverture, Wordsworth’s platitudes and generalization diluted the individuality of Tousaint’s experience, unusual personality, and the nationalist particularity of the race he sprung from and defended. We wonder what an imprisoned Negro freedom fighter is likely to make of the “friends” Wordsworth offers: “exultations, agonies,/ And love, and man’s unconquerable mind”. Conditioned by his upper caste Aryan background, Wordsworth could not consider how to get concrete aid through to the revolutionary Black masses in Haiti.

Something similar happens in his poem, September 1,1802. The middle caste Aryans whom Napoleon led turned into ethnic cleansers when their victims demanded independence. In the passage home to England, Wordsworth witnessed a Negro lady, one of thousands of her people expelled from France by Napoleon.

BLACK LIBERATION

It is one of these personal encounters Wordsworth could do so well. But despite “the tropic fire” of her eyes and “the luster of her rich attire” the poetry fails to take fire and fizzles out. Either as a female African or as victimised human being she is not particularly vivid. But Wordsworth did close with a rhetorical exhortation that justice be done for the African race.

It is V.T. Rajshekar who finally integrated the real movement of solidarity of all the oppressed castes and oppressed nations of the world, linking up India’s Dalits with the Black liberation movements in America and the Islamic Palestinian cause. He left far behind the self-dividedness of the upper caste White Aryan poets and liberals who cannot break finally with the oppressor castes that produced them.


Need for Dalit media

The anti-reservation agitation by upper castes has highlighted the need for a media owned by the Dalits. Since Dalit Voice has been continuously working on the issue, we feel it is time to rethink on it again. You have been writing on this issue and the upper caste Indian media is afraid that you cannot be co-opted by them. After the Mandal Commission Report (1990) many Hindi newspapers as well as English newspapers started giving publicity to some Dalit writers but we all know they would like to publish us when things go according to their game plan. I did not have your email id for long hence could not write. Besides, I had been actively involved at the grass-root level and hence lost touch. Yet, you remain as the person who brought dynamic changes of perception in my life. I have time and again acknowledged this publicly. In my book, Dalit -Land & Dignity, I have acknowledged your name as the person whose writings opened our eyes and door.

In support of shifting Israel to USA

This refers to your proposal to “shift Israel to America” (DV Edit Feb.16, 2006).

Peace in the world is not possible because of some deep-rooted prejudices, the legacy of centuries of clashes on account of racial and communal hatred. There are many such trouble-spots on this earth. West Asia has been suffering from one such deep sinus.

The Old Testament records that there were many racial gods in the West Asia who were jealous of each other and commanded their devotees to fight against the devotees of other gods. Yahveh was one such very powerful god who revealed himself to Moses and commanded him to tell the Jews that he alone was their god and that the Jews were his “chosen people” and should obey only his commands. He commanded Moses to take out his people from Pharoah’s Egypt and convey his blessings and parental patronage for the Jews. However, as a god of wrath and vengeance, he predicted that the Jews will be spoiled and for their sins of disobedience they will be thrown out of Israel, lose their home and scattered all over the world. (Deu.28.64, 31.29). The cause of Yahvah bore fruits in time. Romans destroyed Israel and the Jews fled to other countries.

The Jews had also invited deep hostility from the Christians for killing Jesus Christ. For nearly 2,000 years the Jews remained friendless and led the life of humiliation and distrust and despised everywhere. Though Judaism was the mother of Christianity, the followers of Jesus treated them with contempt as they killed the founder of their religion.

It is, therefore, surprising that goodwill has now been restored between the Jews and the Christians. No one could have predicted a century ago that this could happen after 2,000 years of ill-will.

On the other hand, it is clear to any student of comparative religion that the Holy Koran is by and large closer to the Old Testament (Torah) than the teaching of the New Testament and as such it should have been easier to bring the Jews and Muslims together but no one proved competent for this task. On the contrary, the creation of Israel has only fanned the flames of hatred between the Jews and the Arabs.

The restoration of goodwill between the Jews and the Christians is wholly due to the large-heartedness of the Pope who in a truly Catholic spirit taught the Christians “to forgive and forget” the sin of crucifixion committed by the Jews. The home-coming of the Jews was arranged by the Christian umbrella in 1947.

It is true that the Holy Prophet of Islam initiated efforts to win over the Jews and the Christians. But very soon he realised that he could not be acceptable to the Jews and the Christians as Prophet. Ultimately, he conveyed the Divine Command to the Muslims that they should not trust the Jews and the Christians (5.55). The Christians gave up the doctrine of turning the other cheek. The swords flashed from both sides. West Asia saw the spectacles of Crusades for centuries.

Since their flight from Israel 2,000 years ago, the Jews had been living as non-entity and as such did not pose any threat to either Christianity or Islam. However, with the emergence of a Jewish state, Arabs took it as a thorn in their body and many took a vow to destroy it. Now there is no goodwill between the Jews and the Arabs or Muslims.

We do not know about the Divine plans. However, as ordinary mortals we can only draw inferences from the ground realities of the present.

The Editor of Dalit Voice like most of us feels and rightly so that there is no possibility of a permanent peace in that region and the time has come for a radical solution.

In his Editorial (Feb.16, 2006), he has brought forward, what may seem to many, an extraordinary suggestion that Israel (here Israel does not mean the land, but the entire Jewish population of Israel) be shifted to America.

Mass migrations have occurred and continue to occur not only at human but also at animal natures. It is their instinctive threat perception which moves the Siberain birds to comparatively safer places during extreme winter. When monsoon betrayed them, the farmers in the desert parts of Rajputana used to move with their cattle to the nearest rainy areas. But this type of arrangement is only for a short period. Their love for the land of their forefathers prevents them from taking permanent migrations. Except in very special cases, what can be called “rarest of the rare” cases that is where it is a question of life or death, men stick to their homes.

PARSI MIGRATION

There have been a few such large-scale migrations in human history, for example, the migration of the Jews from Egypt under the leadership of Moses, and the later migration of the Jews all over the world, the migration of the Parsis from Persia to India, and the large-scale migration of Muslims and non-Muslims at the time of British withdrawal from India occurred under the most tragic situations. Similar situations may call for similar solutions.

The solution of West Asian crisis through a total migration of the Jews to USA has come from a master-mind. And as such even at academic level, it has some very important implications for social and political philosophy not only for the present but also for the future of mankind. In all humility, I place here some of my observations as under:

Since Israel is a very small country and the Jews are small in number, it would not involve much inconvenience to arrange for settlement of Jews in America or for that matter anywhere else on this earth.

For sentimental reasons, and for fear of the wrath of their supreme god Yahvah, they would not like their land to be delivered into the hands of the worshippers of any god other than Yahuveh. Since Israel is a confluence of all Semitic religions, it may be handed over to the United Nations for the purpose of maintenance. This proposal is not likely to be opposed by Muslims because long since they had shifted the centre of their pilgrimage from Jerusalem to Mecca. The opposition of any other group even if it comes, may not be quite substantial.

Darwin’s doctrine of survival of the fittest shall always work where neighbours live as enemies. If all the Jews are received with open arms in America as was done to the Jews and Persians in India, two important groups of mankind would be rid of their major headaches.

This formula may be further extended to cover all warring cats in the world, not only of the major world religions but also of the warring sects of those religions. Migration can be arranged where they are in small numbers but difficulty would be serious where they are in large numbers.

I have learnt that many industrialists of the community to which I belong by birth, who have large business establishments in remote corners in India, have begun to feel that they are not safe there because of not being “the sons of the soil”. They are silently preparing to shift their assets to safer places.

CONCLUSION

All individuals or groups which feel unsafe or insecure in their present environment may be advised to shift anywhere else in the world where they feel they can live in peace with honour. Heterogeneity arises where bodies and souls have remote locations. Let the 21st century set an example in this direction so as to prevent or reduce as far as possible the areas of tensions.

They are already suffocated by the zionists who are virtually ruling USA. And yet a solution has to be found to the world’s single biggest blood-letting.

Chamberlain offered Jews Sinai which they readily accepted. Later he offered Uganda which was rejected. Herzel, the father of the zionist nation, spoke of Argentina (1903) as their final destination.

Jews owned only 6.5% the Palestinian land before forcibly occupying the Arab land. Today they have virtually taken over 93% of the land.

Who is a real hero? A real hero feels, “ I am other than a hero”. A hero should be a sincere man. A deep, genuine, sincerity is the first characteristic of all men to be called heroic. But the truly great man is not conscious of being sincere. Perhaps he is conscious of his insincerity. He dares to admit his insincerity and thereby with great conviction he will assert his sincerity.

But all those who are sincere to themselves and try to assert their sincerity cannot be really heroes. After all sincerity is one of the qualities of heroes. Sincerity gives moral strength. It gives him some power to weather all storms of oppositions and criticisms. He may die a mahatma / Saint. But saints can never be liberators and liberators can never be saints. In fact, sincerity is not enough. Even a beggar can be sincere. Even an idiot can be sincere. An idiot is the very antithesis of a great man.

Who is a hero: A hero is hero because “he finds a way to save society in its hours of crisis.” He feels,“ Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I am born to set it right.” This speaks of his intellectual intelligence. He is strong both in moral character and intellect. So he is convinced of his mission ahead.

The combination of sincerity and intellect seems to make a man a great man. But these two traits with nothing else reduce him to be an eminent individual. Actually a hero must be motivated by the dynamics of a social purpose.

“He must act as the scourge and the scavenger of society” as a philosopher says. Our society has a number of eminent individuals. But they don’t change the history.

Tyranny against Dalits: The questions before us are:

Can film stars be really great men or heroes in politics as they are in films? Are the present generation of politicians really great men or great women?

Does their title to being heroes/heroines in political life really rest upon the social purposes? Do they take pains to study the laws of our society? Do they have mega-cognitive power to know the contradictions existing in our society? Do they have independent thinking power to assert their intellectual convictions? Will they be incorrigible nonconformists in being original thinkers?

A hero should be a person with sufficient independence to condemn the weaknesses and follies of social villains while he remains himself untouched by them. Does any film-turned hero or heroine possess their nature?. Do they all have any vision and courage which a hero must possess? Do they really feel that they are born to ‘set it right’ as something is rotten in India or particularly in Tamil Nadu? What is their passion? Have they developed a passion for political power or political and social reforms? Have they taken pains to be social scientists to diagnose the ills of our society before they claim themselves to be the heroes of our society? Some political ‘heroes’ say that they are political martyrs as they have courted prisons many a time. Even the scoundrels who have taken to politics as their last refuge have by going to prison become martyrs. But has any political prisoner undergone the real rigours of the prison that the world social revolutionaries had undergone?

Questions for heroes: Our society practises social tyranny and oppression against Dalits in a far greater degree than any prison does. No hero seriously thinks to wage a war against the government that deliberately allows the scavenging to be done by one particular caste down the decades.

Most of the film-star turned politicians and professional politicians make headlines in the press. They have become idols and heroes/heroines of the hour. Our fundamental questions are:

“Is the cause of Tamil Nadu or India everything or is their personal ascendancy everything for them? Are they really heroes/heroines when they make Indian politics a personal feud? Why are they impatient of criticisms? Why do they wall themselves off from the deep thinkers of our society? Are they not emotionally weak to be happy when fawned upon by flunkeys? Don’t they feel elated when they are mobbed by their unthinking inferiors? Can they, particularly the film-star- turned politicians, articulate their political philosophy? Everyone has got political liberty to engage himself in the political party he chooses. But how can a man be a hero without taking pains to know the essentials of political philosophy? Do they have the real urge for liberating the masses from the chains of mental and social slavery? Does their personal conscience disturb them when they exploit the sentiments of the mass as the conscience of real heroes is disturbed? Can they really be heroes just because the naive and the gullible masses take them for heroes? Just because their own press and their media project them as heroes are they really convinced that they are heroes/heroines to liberate the historically handicapped people? Will they ever dare to admit that their psyche is sick when they deliberately allow their followers fall at their feet and worship them as gods? Why do they fail to reflect that they are suffering from some psychological inadequacy? Are they not sadists when they get immense pleasure in keeping the masses to indulge in doing hero worshipping?

Real great men have to be the scavengers and scourges of society. Every hero has to be a social surgeon. With the enormous power of his intellectual social weapon he has to cut open our social body and ruthlessly remove the social tumours and cancerous growths. Does any hero possess this intellectual strength? Do they ruthlessly condemn the hero worship of their own followers? Do they educate their followers not to be servile and obsequious? Do they dare to make them feel that “ We are all born equal, as we all possess the essential characteristics of man”?

Curse of Tamil TV: Alas, our Indian politics, particularly the politics of TN, solely relies on the weak psyche of the masses. Our politicians, whether professional politicians or film-star-turned politicians, have been capitalizing the mass illiteracy of the people for decades. They have deliberatively kept the masses as unthinking asses. All their personal mass-media are not doing anything except directing the thinking of the mass to their own thinking. They never cultivate the mind of the mass. Through their means of advanced mass media and the press they teach the masses all their unscientific ideas.

TN Doordarshan propagates nothing but only unscientific ideas. Who is to blame except the state for this?

A real hero has to take great pains to know the spirit of the times. He has to understand the attitude of mind characteristic of a particular generation. As a real hero he has to do his little bit toward transforming the spirit of the times. If the attitude of people is sick, he should give a cure to their disease. He should never exploit the situation. He should never indulge in doing “vulture politics”. Success in the political life is not the success of a hero in history. Every politician has to remember what Einstein says:

“For a successful mass (read hero) is he who receives a great deal from his fellowmen, usually incomparably more than corresponds to his service to them. The value of a man (read a Hero), however, should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.”

All our present heroes and heroines are masters in “not giving” but in “receiving” from the masses.

A real hero/heroine in power should dare to respect very honest opinion. He should stop idealizing the real and realizing the ideal. He has to cognize the reality. He has to have his own political ideals. He has to fight for change.

Tragedy of TN: Healthy political society is never possible when freedom of thought is denied. Desire for truth must take precedence over all other desires. All achievements of intellect of man have been possible mainly thanks to freedom of thought. A state should guard by all means this freedom of thought. Only the sick mind will dare to crush the fundamental rights of man. But if the head of the state itself abuses its power by denying this fundamental right to an intellect this injustice is never to be tolerated. The head is to be in the historic dock for abusing the power. But as long as masses take him/her for a hero or heroine this disease will continue. This is the real political tragedy in TN.
