ORISSA D.V. SILVER JUBILEE

Will UP experiment break Bahujan unity?

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: Did the Brahmins manage to break the historic, time-tested Bahujan unity through the UP experiment/ Will the “Mayawati miracle”, if extended to other parts of India, weaken the country’s unity? How can she proceed to Delhi by joining Brahmins and ignoring the over 35% of the country’s OBCs? Will it aggravate OBC-Dalit friction?

These fears were expressed by DV family members at the Orissa state Dalit Voice silver jubilee celebration in Bhubaneswar on June 10.

Prominent among who raised such concerns included Prof. Mihir Sethi of Jajpur Govt. College, and R.P. Swain, a Backward Caste MLA. Some others said the Brahminical newspaper campaign to instigate the Dalits against OBCs finally brought about Brahmin-Dalit unity.

BSP OBC base intact: P.K. Jena of the state BSP, who introduced Dalit Voice in Orissa in 1997, allayed these fears and said his party’s OBC base in UP was in tact with 57 OBC MLAs while Mulayam Singh Yadav had much lesser OBC support. “BSP’s OBC constituency is not lost”, he said. Mulayam Singh lost because of the treacherous game played by the Thakur Amar Singh.

K.M. Tanti talked about the financial crisis facing DV and the Editor’s move to close down DV (DV Edit May 16, 2007: “Sunset over Dalit world? Editor seeks permission to close down Dalit Voice”) and said DV members would go round the state and mobilise financial support for the proposed “media centre”. They also assured that each member would enlist 10 more DV members.

Editor V.T. Rajshekar was all praise for the Orissa DV members who volunteered to host the silver jubilee celebration in Bhubaneswar. However, the presence of women at the meeting was very poor.

Though the tribals formed 26% of the state population SC-17%), there was hardly any tribal representation at the meeting. Tribals were victims of Brahminical Hinduisation drive on one side and the naxalite menace on the other. Both aimed at enslaving the tribals. DV members in particular and Ambedkarites in general have failed to spread our message among tribals who are our own brothers. Orissa Ambedkarites have to admit this lapse on their part and move into tribal areas to liberate their brothers, the Editor said.

DV is not Editor’s property: R.P. Swain, MLA and a former Minister and long-standing member of the DV family, said “if DV is closed darkness will envelop India. DV is no longer the property of the Editor. We cannot allow him to close down DV”, he said.

The Editor assured the members that the Mayawati formula would not break the Bahujan unity though the Brahmins were working over time to bring about a rift between the two. The Dalit-Brahmin-Muslim unity was a special feature of only UP suiting to its peculiar caste combinations. It can’t be extended to other states. The Muslim leadership of UP failed to sense the mood of the Muslim masses who voted for BSP. Dalits and Muslims must go together to fight their common Brahminical enemy.

When both Dalits and Muslims all over India consider Brahmin as their common enemy, how can there be any Dalit-Brahmin unity at the all-Indian level. It is against the very nature, he said.

BSP ignoring socio-cultural revolution: He made it clear that political changes alone would not lead to socio-cultural revolution. Both must go together. He recalled his frequent suggestions to Kanshi Ram that BSP was not giving adequate importance to socio-cultural revolution. Even the “media centre” which Kanshi Ram launched in Noida in response to our pressure could not be opened.

Without the media no socio-cultural revolution could be carried on, he said assuring BSP every support from our side.

On the whole the Orissa DV workshop was a very successful because of the participation of members from all parts of the state.

DV supports revolutionary Hamas & assures victory to Palestinians

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: DV supports the revolutionary Hamas in its current war with the zionist-sponsored corrupt regime of Fatah’s Mahmoud Abbas in Palestine. In the long overdue Hamas drive to eliminate the internal enemy, the Hamas has already achieved victory.

Entire Gaza has come under its rule. West Bank will soon be theirs. But with the money and arms given by the zionist-controlled USA, Fatah may hold on to West Bank for some time. You can take it from us that the entire revolutionary forces of the world are with Hamas who alone can be called the true representatives of the oppressed Palestinians.

Brothers fighting brothers: DV has never gone wrong. The Fatah led by Abbas played a treacherous role. They only started this attack on Hamas at the behest of the zionists forcing the brothers to fight brothers.

Hamas is not only united and strong but a genuine revolutionary. Let the American super power and its European followers support Fatah. Doesn’t matter. The world knows that Abbas and his men are corrupt and stooges of zionists— but more than that enemies of revolutionary Islam. That means they are bound to fail.

Hated fellow made PM: Look at the good-for-nothing Prime Minister he selected in Salam Fayyad, also an American stooge. How can a society in collapse be saved by a cockroach? Palestinians themselves hate this fellow made PM. Yes, he has the support of the USA and Europe but not of his own people. He won’t last long.

America, Britain and Europe under zionist influence are driving Middle East Muslims to become suicide bombers. Beware.

Hamas is right in refusing to recognise Israel which is illegally occupying the Palestinian land. History is on the side of Hamas. We understand the great pain, suffering and the countless deaths of poor Palestinians who have been fighting and fighting for decades to recover their homeland from the zionist aggressors.

Justice & truth has to triumph: DV has made innumerable reports on their historic struggle and also extended its fullest support. Justice and Truth will triumph.

Some people predict a split between the Hamas keeping Gaza and Fatah holding on to West Bank. This will not happen. The oppressed Palestinians of West Bank will never, ever accept the zionist stooges.

It may be a civil war. But who caused it? Not the Palestinians. The zionists and their stooges may be enjoying this blood bath. But the zionist Israel must note that its nightmares have further increased with the sworn enemy of zionism taking over Gaza. That means Jews can’t even sleep in the night.

Hamas is born out of the sweat and blood of thousands and thousands of Palestinians who died fighting the zionist aggression. They can never, ever dream of defeating Hamas. The zionist enemies and their American financiers forget that Hamas was voted to power by the very people of Palestine — both Gaza and West Bank. Palestinians also know that Hamas is dedicated, incorruptible and pledged to recover the Palestinian land. That means it is loved by the people. How can Hamas rooted in the hearts of the Palestinians be routed by the money power of America? Instead of trying for peace in the world’s longest lasting war, the zionists and their Western supporters are pouring petrol on the burning fire.

DV supports Hamas and assures them victory.

MIM hails Hamas: Comrade Ayyankali adds: The Maoist Internationalist Movement (MIM) has praised Iran and Syria-backed Hamas routing the US-Israel-backed PLO-Fatah. The liberation of Gaza will be followed by another Intifada to be started by Hamas as soon as Iran is attacked by Israel or USA. Israel then will have to fight Shia Hezbollah in Lebanon but also an internal war with Sunni Hamas. No wonder MIM is all praise for the heroic Hamas.

LESSONS OF “CASTE IDENTITY” BOOK

Brahminical rulers can never suppress revolutionary ideas

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: Ideas lead to action. Nobody knows this better than our Brahminical rulers who have monopolised the entire media to control ideas. And also kill those ideas that threaten their interests. That is how not a single paper in India reviewed our book on “Caste”. Why?

However, the rulers are good at spreading false propaganda that we are opposing Babasaheb’s demand for annihilation of caste. They say that by strengthening caste we are promoting casteism. But as Ambedkarites and victims of casteism how can we support casteism which is the other name for Hinduism?

Thought control

They are spreading all sorts of falsehood which we can’t prevent as we have no powerful media . But with all the media and money power the rulers enjoy, they could not prevent caste-based parties taking over UP in the latest election.

The sole problem of India is Brahminical thought control. No free flow of ideas is allowed. The enemy created hundreds of languages as a barrier. They barred our people from studying English which they kept as their monopoly. Language barrier has become the greatest obstacle for revolution in India.

China had a revolution because it had one single language. India had no revolution for want of a common language.

Dalit Voice and we in particular have become the worst victims of this Brahminical thought control.

Best seller

Yet with all these road-blocks our caste book has been a best seller, according to its publishers. Its English edition has gone into third print. Hindi edition is selling well. So also Kannada.

These mind controllers are also a rank stupid lot. They don’t have the brain to understand that the very parliamentary democracy has now come to mean the rule of the castes and communities.

The latest UP elections have proved it. Every future election will further strengthen the caste.

National parties are all dying. Caste and region-based parties are taking over. That means death to Brahminism.

Only a caste which strengthens its roots and asserts itself can “come up”. A caste that loses its roots will fade. Chamars in UP strengthened their roots and the Brahmins came to them begging for protection. And the kind-hearted Chamars agreed to protect Brahmins on the condition they cease to be hate-mongers.

This is the great lessons of the Indian democratic experiment that cuts at the very root of the Brahminical rulers who unfortunately have no strength of numbers.

Then what about the numerically smaller jatis? They too have to strengthen their roots and demand share in proportion to their population and forge appropriate alliance with stronger jatis.

Mayawati sweep

Unfortunately our “social scientists” being either Brahminical or slaves of Brahminism are hiding this reality. That is how nobody was able to predict the Mayawati sweep which we in DV did predict.

If the Brahminical rulers think that they can suppress an idea, particularly a revolutionary idea, they will never, ever succeed. Our caste identity book has proved it.

INDIA SHINING

Chaotic Delhi

New Delhi: Filthy children and fingerless lepers, tapping on car windows and pleading for “paisa, khana” (cash, food), hang around every busy traffic junction and market in Delhi. Begging in Delhi is illegal though few are locked up. But if the authorities have their way, it will soon be wiped out, as part of a big clean up before the capital hosts the Commonwealth Games in 2010. Plans to obliterate other familiar features of Delhi ahead of the games are controversial. A ban on some 300,000 stalls selling freshly cooked snacks has enraged well-off foodies and the poor alike. Animal-rights activists protested when hundreds of unruly monkeys were rounded up and shut in cages. A new scheme to herd the city’s stray cows into a vast dairy complex will doubtless anger many cow-revering Hindus. A radical plan to corral Delhi’s beggars, in contrast, has provoked little reaction. After an order from the High Court that begging be stamped out, a report commissioned by Delhi’s Department for Social Welfare recommends that beggars be rounded up by a special police squad and placed in Beggars’ homes, which resemble jails more than hostels. The report, by academics at the University of Delhi, also wants the public to be educated about the “evils of alms-giving”, which “promotes parasites”.

School education fails

New Delhi: The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was launched in 2001 to ensure that 190 million children in the 6-14 age group would be able to attend school and receive quality preliminary education by 2010. In 2001, the number of out of school children was about 39 million. Is Abhiyan close to its target? Quantitatively yes, but quality-wise, India is far away. The Annual Status of Education Report, reveals at least 50% of the children cannot read a simple two-line passage. A greater proportion of about 65% the targeted population cannot do a simple two-digit division. Is this too much to expect of a child in class II? All the praises won by pushing children into school will be lost if we keep churning out students, who would be considered literates by the census but wouldn’t be suitable for employment.

Fall of Muslims

If India’s literacy rate is 63.07%, Muslims are way behind at 41.27%. Muslim women 21.66% as against 40.4% being the average. Not more than 2% Muslims are in govt. jobs. Of the 479 judges only 30 are Muslims that makes it just 6./26%. Of the 3,284 IPS officers, just 120 are Muslims.
