Dalit show shocks upper castes

Udupi: Siddaramaiah, MLA, a former Dy. Chief Minister of Karnataka and the state's most popular leader with a huge mass following, has come out in full support of V.T. Rajshekar's "caste identity" thesis and said it was the most appropriate weapon to fight upper caste monopoly. He also endorsed the Dalit Voice Editor's famous Kannada slogan, Desha bittu jati katti (strengthen caste even forgetting the "nation").

He was releasing the Kannada book written by a noted Dalit writer, Rajendra, a retired Director of Information, Karnataka Govt., on the life and struggle of the Editor of Dalit Voice, here on Feb.5 at a jam-packed hall of the Kidiyur Hotel. Even after putting additional chairs people were seen standing and squatting. About 30% of the audience comprised women.

Hated Pejawara Swami: The spectacular show was organised by the Udupi Dalits under the leadership of Jayan Malpe of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti.

The morning session was devoted to book release and the afternoon session had discussion on the Editor's book, Caste — A Nation Within the Nation.

The temple town of Udupi is totally dominated by two upper castes — Brahmins and Gowda Saraswat Brahmins. In such a place, the Dalits, the lowest of the low, could stage such a day-long function in a packed hall and that too with such discipline shocked not only the city bigwigs and its press people but the whole of undivided South Kanara dt.

Barring the two upper castes, leaders of all SC/ST/BCs and Muslim/Christians were present on the stage.

Economic progress is no progress: V.T. Rajshekar received big applause whenever he criticised the notorious Brahmin leader Pejawara Swami indicating how much he was hated by the common people. They said the swami was a a mere paper tiger created by the Brahminical media. The only progressive Kannada daily, Varta Bharati, loved by the people, is  facing  tough opposition from casteist forces.

V.T. Rajshekar announced that to fight this tiny but powerful upper caste forces the Billavas, Mogaviras, Dalits, Muslims and other castes must unite under the leadership of Siddaramaiah.

DV has been often saying that economic and educational progress is no progress. The undivided S.K. dt. proves this point. It is only the social and cultural progress that liberates and elevates a people. In that sense S.K dt. is the most backward despite its dazzling progress in economic and education spheres.

Dalits lose confidence in church

Bangalore: The Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI), controlling the country's largest Christian empire — perhaps as rich as the Govt. of India itself — met here in the middle of February and took some important decisions. But the upper castes (Hindus) who send their children only to Christian schools simply ignored such a big event as can be made out from the coverage it got in the Brahminical media.

However, its belated decision that the Catholic educational institutions will start giving reservation to Dalits appears like a farce. We were the first in India to demand such a reservation to Dalits in Christian institutions as early as 1987 — 19 years ago. (V.T. Rajshekar: Christians & Dalit Liberation, DSA-2000).

Dishonest church: We have been demanding such a reservation but the gigantic Catholic church remained unperturbed. It has finally passed a resolution to this effect at its Bangalore session but our fear is the upper caste Christian institutions may simply ignore this directive fearing Hindu boycott of their institutions. They can't afford to antagonise their jatwalas.

That the Indian church, particularly the Catholics, are not honest to themselves is proved from the latest CBCI demand that the Govt. of India must give constitutional reservation to Dalit Christians on par with Dalits.

But what right the church has to ask the govt. to give such a reservation when it is keeping its own Dalit Christians out of its church? It is preaching without practising its own gospel.

We  have  published  many  complaints  from  Dalit Christians  against  their own upper  caste  authorities.

That the church in India is controlled by the upper caste Christians is well known. The  church  leaders are closer to their jatwalas. Blood is thicker than water.

Supreme Court case: Dalit Christians are simply fed up with the half-hearted way the church took up the Dalit reservation issue now before the upper caste-dominated Supreme Court.

The followers of church are mostly the Dalits, Tribals and BCs who got liberation through conversion. Over 80% of the Indian Christians are Dalits. Yet this church is closer to the enemy oppressors even at the cost of its mission.

We are sorry to say the Dalits of India have lost confidence in this Brahminical church.

The great newspaper war to sell trash

Bangalore: Every upper caste-dominated institution is going crazy and trying to push the rest of the 85% Bahujans, who remain sane, to madness. The Brahmin-Bania controlled "national" toilet papers are the best specimens of this mad, mad upper caste world.

Bombay's three English dailies, Times of India, DNA and Hindustan Times are so bulky and carrying so much trash. In this cut-throat competition between English dailies, all owned by the upper castes, they are trying to out do each other and killing each other.

ORGANISED LOOTING

The same thing is happening in Delhi, Madras and Bangalore too. But Bombay being India's biggest city and the commercial hub, the competition has become too serious.

This furious Bania newspaper war in Bombay is reaching serious proportions. The same thing will soon repeat in radio and TV. However, there is also an aspect of co-operation between these Bania "competitors". For example, the Economic Times is printed at the Hindustan Times press in Bombay. This is what Kancha Ilaiah called "casteisation of capital". Capitalist competition is perverted by caste, leading to a sort of "friendly" competition. These Bania capitalists have a secret consensus to divide the market among themselves.

DELHI WAR

Crooks like Kanchi and S. Gurumurthy have united for a caste-based consensus for organised cartelisation.

All the three players — DNA, TOI and HT — have signed a no-poaching (of journalists) agreement with each other.

The war is equally serious in Delhi. Each paper is out-doing the other in selling trash and making monkeys of their readers.

MOUNT ROAD MAHA VISHNU

In Madras, the Mount Road Maha Vishnu has found a formidable opponent in the Deccan Chronicle (DC) of Hyderabad which opened an edition at Madras selling at just rupee one a day. For 365 days in a year it collects just Rs. 300. So hundreds of people have shifted to DC.

The great "Socialist Brahmin", N. Ram, the editor of the Hindu is under fire from his own Iyengar family-owned Hindu share-holders. Wait for some interesting developments.

However, the Hindu is the only surviving newspaper in the whole of India despite its nauseating communal name. But after the entry of Ram, the Hindu has shut out three noted Bahujan columnists under pressure from his jatwalas— Kancha Ilaiah, Dr. Gail Omvedt and another one. The Hindu circulation has started falling despite the fake marxism of its editor.

INDIAN EXPRESS DYING

In Bangalore, the Times of India has crossed all limits in selling nonsense. Sex, sports, entertainment, drink and cheap jokes are littered all over the pages. The Deccan Herald, owned by the Backward Caste Idigas, has succumbed to this temptation. And under a Namboodiri editor it has started competing with TOI in  selling trash which the  over-fed  upper castes love. Once the largest circulated English daily of India, the Indian Express, is  dying because of family feud and trampled by giant papers.

Whether it is the printed word, TV or radio, every means of communication is concentrating only on the fattening the middle class (read upper caste) which is getting fatter day by day drinking the blood of the other world (of 85% Bahujans) which is totally forgotten under the capitalist-roader Manmohan Singh.

The 15% ruling upper caste world is so pre-occupied with entertainment, eating, drinking, sex, fashions, crime, fake religion  that it is blind to India's slow death.

Hindi Caste book

Bangalore: The eagerly awaited Hindi edition of our Editor's international award-winning book, Caste — A Nation Within the Nation, which has gone into two editions, is getting ready. It may be printed within a month, according to the publishers, Books for Change (pages 160, price Rs. 140).

The book translated by Rajinder Singh, a DV family member from Mandi dt. of HP, will be released in Delhi during the silver jubilee celebration of Dalit Voice .

Its English original and Kannada translation are selling well, according to the publishers. Its Malayalam translation by Raju Thomas is getting ready.

Lalu Prasad Yadav has agreed to inaugurate the silver jubilee event in Delhi.

Facts on China & India

Bangalore: Even as our Khatri Sikh PM and Chettiar FM are boasting of India becoming a super power, China has quietly become the world's fourth largest economic power. The Beijing correspondent of the world famous English daily from London, Guardian, Jonnathan Watts, announced this in his paper on Jan.27 putting to shame our bragging yuppies who live in their own make-believe world.DV has been predicting this but our upper caste rulers, fed on the fairy tales of their "sacred scriptures", do not believe in facts. False claim (read boasting) is their staple diet. A Hindu is a bundle of contradictions. At heart he is downright conservative, orthodox, anti-science, pig-headed but wants everything made in West. He likes scotch whisky, foreign kerchief, foreign car, foreign perfume, foreign degrees and even foreign wife. At the same time he won't take a step without consulting his astrologer. This is India. UK, France dwarfed

Beijing: China maintained its breakneck momentum last year with a 9.9% growth surge that almost certainly took it past Britain to fourth place in the world gross domestic product rankings.

Despite government efforts to slow the pace of investment and cool an overheated property sector, official statistics released on Jan.27 showed economic expansion in 2005 was only a fraction behind the 10.1% notched up in 2004. China's GDP is now 18.2 trillion yuan, which — depending on a slight fluctuation in exchange rates — surpasses estimates for Britain and France last year. The US, Japan and Germany are considerably bigger, but China is catching up fast. While other leading economies would be happy with 4% growth this year, China is expected to more than double that. (Hindu, Jan.27, 2006).

But the mere 15% upper castes who rule India have become so blinded that they can see nothing, hear nothing. They believe what they want to believe. Entire agriculture sector, the mainstay of the country's economy, has gone to dogs. Countryside is languishing, unemployment soaring, literacy, health care neglected. There are people dying daily out of starvation. Confusion is total.Yet if a foreigner reads the Times of India, India's madest toilet paper, and other English dailies — read by India's mere 1% English-knowing population — he may go with the impression that India is floating in milk and honey. But our question is will the 85% deprived destitutes — comprising the Dalits, Tribals, Backward Castes, Muslim etc. — allow this cavalcade of capitalist-roaders a safe passage?

Rising prosperity

China's capital, Beijing, has 1.54 million private cars at the end of 2005 that shows one out of every 10, 15.38 million-strong Beijingers owns a car, the city's statistical bureau has said. The total number of private cars in Beijing climbed 18.7% over the 2004 figure. (PTI - Deccan Herald, Jan.30, 2006).

She will even more do the bidding of the US and the Jews. I am quite sure you are aware of the challenge of the Iranian Govt. to the Holocaust lie. Unfortunately the revisionist conference which is planned in Iran has to take place without the major revisionists, since they are imprisoned like Zundel, Irving Verbeke, Rudolf etc. or their passports are being lifted. Horst Mahler will not be able to leave Germany. We will enter interesting times. I am writing on Christian churches during the nazi period. Do you know that the previous Pope, John Paul, had a Jewish mother which makes him according to Jewish law a Jew? The accolades which are heaped on him by the American Jewish press therefore should not surprise. I am not impressed with the present German Pope Benedict, the former cardinal Ratzinger. He went to Cologne exhorted the German not to be anti-Semitic and wasted not one word on the thousands of dead women and children burned up during the English and American air raids. Since these Germans, mostly Catholics, did not matter to him at least he should have shed a tear for the beautiful and venerable Cologne churches bombed to smithereens. Just by luck the beautiful dome still stood, albeit severely damaged. Unfortunately Community News which was edited by Walter Mueller is defunct. I do not know what happened to Walter.
