Freedom of press means suppressing news

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: DV has been bombarding the rabidly anti-poor PM, FM because the Khatri Sikh and the Tamil Chettiar have become the darling of the country’s rulers. Though both of them are from the Congress Party, the former is from the un-elected upper house and the latter enters the Lok Sabha with his money power.

Both never bother about the serious plight of the country’s underdog. The only person who realised that the poor are slipping out of the Congress was the party president Sonia Gandhi who summoned both the PM and FM just on the eve of the budget and asked them to introduce the Rs. 60,000 crore farm loan waiver scheme in the latest budget. Today the media is carrying a campaign against this measure.

Sonia’s order: India’s notorious anti-poor media totally suppressed Sonia’s gift to the farmers because rulers wanted the budget to be totally in favour of them. And both the PM and FM had prepared the budget that way. Sonia ordered them to change the budget. The country’s media was well aware of this development but as it went against their interests such a big news was suppressed. We read the report only in one paper, Economic Times of Feb.26, 2008.This is called the freedom of the press in India: meaning the freedom of the rulers to suppress news.

Kill the killers: Budha used violence to fight violent people

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: Distortions of the liberating teachings of the Budha by the Brahminical enemies, of which the entire country has been a victim, are well known but its victims do not know that what is today sold as Budhism is nothing but Brahminism.

We all want peace. All producers of wealth are peaceful people. Budha was the very embodiment of peace and justice but he was forced to take to armed struggle against the Brahminical enemies when he was not allowed to practise the most revolutionary Lotus Sutra, according to Nichiren Daishonin (1222-1282), topmost Japanese authority on Budhism, whose works are suppressed in India by the very enemies who killed Budhism. (Dr. K.K. Sidhu, “Japanese document suppressed in India”, DV Aug.1, 2007 p.5).

Budha repeatedly attacked: Daishonin says when Budha started preaching the Lotus Sutra he faced terrific violence from Brahminical enemies. He says:

What is more, once you become a disciple or lay supporter of the votary who practices the true Lotus Sutra in accord with the Buddha’s teachings, you are bound to face the three types of enemies. Therefore, from the very day you listen to [and take faith in] this sutra, you should be fully prepared to face the great persecutions of the three types of enemies that are certain to be more horrible now after the Buddha’s passing.

Shakyamuni Buddha faced the nine great persecutions for the sake of the Lotus Sutra. He was attacked with all sorts of weapons. (The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Soka Gakkai, 1999, Ibid p.391).

Budha practised military methods: According to Nichiren Daishonin Budha was regularly practising shakubuku, which in Japanese means military methods.

Anyone who practices Buddhism should first understand the two types of practice — shoju and shakubuku. All the sutras and treatises fall into one or other of these two categories.

Lotus Sutra is perfect Budhism

Latter Day call for only the Lotus Sutra, the pure and perfect teaching of the one vehicle of Buddhahood, to be spread abroad widely. As predicted by the Buddha, now is the age of quarrels and disputes when the pure Law becomes obscured and lost, and the provisional and true teachings are hopelessly confused.

When one must face enemies, one needs a sword, a stick, or a bow and arrows. When one has no enemies, however, such weapons are of no use at all.

Now, in the Latter Day of the Law, who is carrying out the practice of shakubuku in strict accordance with the Lotus Sutra? Suppose someone, no matter who, should unrelentingly proclaim that the Lotus Sutra alone can lead people to Buddhahood, and that all of other sutras, far from enabling them to attain the way, only drive them into hell. Observe what happens should that person thus try to refute the teachers and the doctrines of all the other schools. The three powerful enemies will arise without fail.

Our teacher, Shakyamuni, practiced shakubuku during the last eight years of his lifetime, the Great Teacher T’ien-t’ai for more than 30 years, and the Great Teacher Dengyo for more than 20 (Ibid p.394).

Budha suffered nine persecutions

“I do not know whether they are equal to the nine great persecutions suffered by the Buddha, but surely neither T’ien-t’ai nor Dengyo ever faced persecutions as great as mine for the sake of the Lotus Sutra. They encountered only hatred, envy, and slander, whereas I twice incurred the wrath of the rulers and was exiled to remote provinces. Furthermore, I was nearly beheaded at Tatsunokuchi, wounded on the forehead [at Komatsubara] and slandered time and again”, says Daishonin.

Understand then that votary who practices the Lotus Sutra exactly as the Buddha teaches will without fail be attacked by the three powerful enemies.

In the more than two thousand years that have passed since the Buddha’s advent, Shakyamuni himself, T’ien-t’ai, and Dengyo were the only three who perfectly carried out the Buddha’s teachings. (ibid pp.394-395).

All disciples of Budha were warriors Budha’s disciples had to face terrible persecution from the Brahminical enemies and they all fought back and virtually killed the enemies.

Who says Budhism is all non-violence. Budhism stood for peace but was equally violent with violent people.

Non-violence is the mantra of the cowards. Brahminical enemies want us to be cowards and that is why they are saying Budhists should be peaceful even when they inflict so much violence on us.

Budha’s disciples such as Mahakashyapa, Ananda, Shariputra, Maudgalyayana and other countless followers were people who at that time were in the vanguard, defeating the enemy, or killing them, injuring them, or rejoicing in the fight. The monk Realization of Virtue became Kashyapa Buddha. He was a votary of the Lotus Sutra of great compassion who, at that time, urged King Possessor of Virtue to attack the enemies of the sutra as if they were the ones who had betrayed his father and mother in a previous lifetime. (ibid p.460).

DV re-starts Debate on Budhism

Our Editorial of Aug.1, 2007: “Did Budha name enemy of Dhamma & ask his followers to fight & finish Brahminism, must have given a shock to our DV family members particularly Budhists. But surprisingly none expressed any dissent. That means they have started thinking.

Only a monthly English journal from Nagpur wrote a “Beware of Dalit Voice” editorial for “misguiding the Budhists and Ambedkarites”. But no Ambedkarite Budhist family member of DV had any complaint because they all no know the irreparable damage done to Budhism by the Brahminical enemy — on which there is enough historical evidence. Babasaheb himself has written enough on the Brahminical perfidy. What is worrying us is that even Dr. Ambedkar’s Budhism has been twisted out of shape. A Budhist DV family member Brother Anil Rangari, complained of interpolation even in the book, Buddha & His Dhamma, by Babasaheb. (DV Jan.16, 2008 p.19).

MORPHINE INJECTION

Earlier we had a long debate in DV on Budhism. (DV ref. given below). Yet our people have not woken up. They are under a deep slumber following the Brahminical Budhist morphine injected into their veins.

Imitating the ruling class is a natural instinct. When our Ambedkarites know for certain that our Father has identified the enemy (Brahminism), they should have taken care to avoid falling into its trap. So much so even today all the Dalits think they are Hindu. This is the tragedy. And this tragedy gets further complicated when our constitution says all Budhists are Hindu.

In view of such dangerous developments, DV has started a fresh debate on Budhism with a view to surgically removing Brahminism from the body of Budhism.

Towards that we are publishing yet another piece from the great Japanese Budhist scholar Nicherin Daishonin who maintains that in Lotus Sutra alone the Budha perfected his final form of dhamma — a subject that is not touched even by Babasaheb’s Buddha & His DhammaEDITOR.

Rulers love maoists but hate “terrorists”

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Bangalore: How can anybody with brain call the starving SC/ST/BCs with emaciated bodies, torn clothes and exhausted look as maoists and naxalites?

UPPER CASTES NOT WORRIED

These children of the soil, deprived of everything, are fighting just for their human rights. Their photographs get published regularly in the front pages of our “national” toilet papers and anybody with eyes can say they are anything but maoist-naxalite.

But our World Bank-imported Khatri Sikh PM says maoism-naxalism is the country’s no.1 problem.

In the two tribal dominated states of Orissa and Chhattisgarh the problem peaked in February 2008 with many deaths on both sides. The Govt. of India is fighting the “menace” by sending CRPF.

But, there is a but here. This but is not an ordinary but. The ruling upper castes (15%) are not at all worried about the maoists. Why?

Their worry is only about terrorism (read Muslims) — not maoism. Why not maoism when the PM himself has declared it as our “no.1 problem”?

We have answered this question many times and yet we have to say it again because repetitions are needed to drive home an important point. The ruling class (read upper castes) is not worried about the maoist menace because its leadership is in their hands. Their own jatwalas are managing it.

PANDA AS TOP MAOIST

Here is yet another proof offered by the Times of India’s Brahmin correspondent from Bhubaneswar:

Bhubaneswar: It appears like a script straight out of Bollywood: A senior politician’s son turns into a top maoist. Sabyasachi Panda, 39, who is suspected to have master-minded the attack on Nayagarh, comes from a Orissa family owing allegiance to the ruling Biju Janata Dal.

While Sabyasachi’s father Ramesh Chandra was BJD’s Nayagarh chief from 1997 (when BJD was formed) until his death in 2004, his elder brother, Sidhartha, too is “associated” with the party.

COUNTER-REVOLUTIONARY

Panda is a Brahmin surname in Orissa and its famed Puri temple priests are called Pandas.

How could a grass-eating Panda lead a revolutionary “movement”?

The secret is maoism is not threatening the rulers but it is an instrument in their hands to control the revolutionaries and turn them into counter-revolutionaries.

All over India, maoist and naxalite leadership (just as it is with CPI and CPM) is with the Brahmins and other upper castes.

This is the secret of the ruling class “don’t worry” attitude because it is their own movement which they can shape to their advantage. We have reports that even Hindu terrorist parties like RSS are sending their leaders to be trained to take over the maoist movement.

LETTERS TO EDITOR

Raj Kumar Oshoraj, Canada: If the Hindus stop nurturing casteism alone, other issues like discrimination, racism, hatred, violence, injustice and deception will disappear. Caste system, which is the creation of Hindus, is the root cause of all these evils not only in Indian society but also they have spread it all over the world. Runoko Rashidi, USA (runoko@yahoo.com): It is not generally appreciated that Blacks live all over the world, comprising the world’s largest oppressed group. That Asia has a large Black population is also not well known. Indian Blacks themselves are not aware of this fact. Lately, a strong Black identity has emerged and the slogan, “Black is beautiful” is catching up fast, at least among militant Blacks. Such a feeling is putting pride back into the broken hearts of Black natives, also uniting them with the struggle of their Black comrades in Africa and elsewhere. The Black liberation struggle against White racism, inequality and male domination is an international struggle. A distinguished Black physicist, historian and linguist, Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop, was among the first to establish that Egypt was the world’s first civilization and that it was Black. He showed that humanity originated in Africa, and that the first human being, the first person, was Black. The Blacks migrated from Africa to other parts of the world. The Blacks are also the ancestors of Indian Untouchables (Dalits). That is why the Blacks wherever they are, belong to one single family. Hence, the relevance of Diop’s work, for India’s Black Indus Valley Civilization is now widely accepted. Diop’s discoveries, therefore, establish that India’s Black Untouchables (with their African origin) are the ancestors of all humankind. Hence, they have to be proud of their Black Untouchable origin and their glorious cultural past. The whole world owes its origin to Black people—our people. African history laid the foundation of world history. Collective historical consciousness is a means of survival. If India’s Black Untouchables are today hiding their identity, ashamed to own their origin and admit that they are Untouchables, it is because they are not aware of their glorious past. Diop says that the Blacks can regain their personality, can become proud of their past if they are told “who they are,” and “what they are.” That means we have to discover our roots, our goddesses, our religion, our ancestors, our history. Cheikh Anta Diop has proven that the core of our problem is cultural rootlessness. The most important task facing us, therefore, is to reconstruct the links that tie us as communities. Humanity was born and developed in Africa. The first human was Black, and Black is beautiful. The Blacks lost their historical memory because we were fed by false history books. The rule of oppression will soon end with the reconstruction of world history, taking the aid of the tools provided to us by authorities like Diop, Runoko Rashidi, and Ivan Van Sertima—all world famous Black scholars.
