A Brahmin exposes mischief of Brahminical media

K. Prakash, TGT (M), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chikkajogihalli, Bellary dt. - 583 126
This refers to my Letter in DV Sept.1, 2004 p.19 with your Note. You have correctly pointed out that the problems of Dalit-Bahujans are basically social and cultural. You are fully right. However, my point is that if the Dalit Voice should survive continuously, it is necessary to take care of education and economic problems also. In spite of 25 years of service, the circulation of DV is still limited to few thousands. This is mainly because DV kept a uni-dimensional approach to the Dalit-Bahujan problems, namely Brahminism. Please note that in spite of this DV is a special journal where even a Brahmin can freely express his opinion. So we all want DV to become more powerful and more popular.

If you glue DV to a uni-dimensional approach the expected outcome will be that the Brahmin-dominated media will show the multi-dimensional face of the Dalit-Bahujan problem and divert the anger of Dalits into the Pacific Ocean. Dr. Ambedkar's efforts were easily undermined by the upper castes with the offer of reservations. Do you want the same thing to happen again?

Brahmin alone responsible for disturbing Brahmin sleep

We are happy that Brother Prakash finally agreed that the Dalit-Bahujan problems are essentially social and cultural and not economic.

The Brahmana Jati Party (BJP) has not even a single economic programme. All its stunts are social and cultural including the latest one of engaging a stupid Backward Caste woman in a flag-hoisting stunt to kick her out as MP Chief Minister.

D.V. proves right
After arguing with us so long, you have finally touched the core problem. You say that if we confine DV to a single-point approach, the Brahmin dominated media will show the multi-dimensional face of Dalit Bahujan problems and divert the Dalit-Bahujan anger.

That means there is no mistake in the approach of DV. Even a Brahmin has certified it.

The mistake is with the Brahminical media. As we have worked in the same media for 25 years, we know its mischief. Brahminical people are doing their duty sincerely and continuously. But we are not doing ours. We admit this.

But as a concerned, thinking Brahmin we want you to answer a question honestly: The Brahmins are also part of this country and the leaders of thought. Why their media is playing this mischief of spreading the falsehood to Dalit-Bahujans and diverting their anger to non-issues? What do they gain out of it?

You may say that this mischief helps the Brahminical people to remain as the ruling class. But at what cost to the country?

Anti-national mischief
Brahmins are the most vocal people who speak so strongly about their "nationalistic" feeling. If they are the greatest nationalists and love this country so deeply, why they are indulging in this anti-national mischief year after year — from centuries. Has not this mischief been taking India fast downhill?

Take the case of the Brahminical media telling the Dalits that their real enemies are BCs and not Brahmins. Except causing some confusion among the elite Dalits, this false propaganda did not succeed. Yet it is a mischief.

Already India has touched the bottom of the pit. The Brahminical people and their media want to push us further down. But there is no space to go down further.

All of us are crushed including the Brahmins. No thinking Brahmin in India including Brother Prakash is getting a sound sleep in the night.

We did not disturb your sleep. Your sleep is disturbed by your own people. From each and every corner of India, we are getting this complaint. So much so, India has become veritable battlefield. What vicarious pleasure the vaidiks are getting by converting India into bloody battlefield? — EDITOR.

Vaibhav Wasnik, (wasnik@physics.arizona.edu)

Please consider this quote of Babasaheb:
"I have never claimed to be a universal leader of suffering humanity. The problem of the Untouchables is quite enough for my slender strength. I do not say that other causes are not equally noble. But knowing that life is short, one can only serve one cause and I have never aspired to do more than serve the Untouchables".

I think a Dalit magazine should be the same. We should stick to Dalit problems rather than mixing with the whole world's problems.

Thanks for Dr. Ambedkar's quotation. Though he did say he would serve the Untouchables, he did a lot for Hindu women, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, BCs, Tribals. Together they constitute over 85% of the population. In other words, the Bahujans. If Brother Vaibhav wants to stick to Dalit problem alone, we have nothing to say but if he wants to extend it to a Dalit journal also then the people who will rejoice the utmost will be the Brahmins. This was also the advice given to us by the Hindu nazis manning the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in Delhi during the Vaidik Vajpayee regime. What they said was when DV was a Dalit journal, why should it take up the cause of Muslim, Christians etc.? There were feelers that if we gave up concerns other than that of Dalits, DV would be given full support. All sorts of temptations were offered. We can't disclose all of them. Now, Brother Vaibhav is also singing the same vaidik song. How can the interests of the lamb and the wolf be the same? The lamb to protect itself from the wolf has to seek the support of all other victims of the same wolf. However, the cunning wolf to eat the innocent lamb will say: "Why don't you come in and sleep with me? I will protect you". But will even an animal like lamb believe the wolf? Here we have an educated Dalit who still talks the language of the wolf. Sorry, ours is time-tested editorial policy fully in keeping with Dr. Ambedkar line of Bahujanwad which includes SC/ST/BCs and Muslim/Christian/Sikhs and all women. We survived for 25 long years because DV is the only journal of Bahujans. If you restrict us to mere Dalits, DV like other journals will also die soon. This is what the Brahmins want — EDITOR.

Might of the Hindu nazi empire & its poisonous tentacles

G.L. Naik, H.No. 921 - Saraswati bhavan, Khursawada, Kajubag, Karwar - 581 301
Brother Gurnam Singh Muktsar has correctly described the true situation prevailing in the country — the heinous part played by the Manuwadi media by brainwashing and converting our innocent people into counter-revolutionaries. (DV Sept.1, 2004 p.17).

Besides the media, there are many other poisonous weapons available in the armoury of Brahminism for not only to indoctrinate but also to enslave and exploit the non-Aryan Bahujans in every aspect of human life. These less than 5% of rulers comprising Brahmins and other upper castes have been using these weapons for thousands of years to enslave and exploit the rest of the 95% of non-Brahmin population including the minorities. They use these weapons to keep the Bahujans in stark poverty without any land and education. All the wealth of the country is appropriated by the rulers without ploughing back any fund for the development of the Bahujans.

So, I am listing only the most poisonous instruments used to suck the blood of Bahujans.

Cover agencies: Thousands of cover agencies have been floated by the Brahminical Social Order (BSO) to seize political power and to indoctrinate, divide, enslave and exploit the entire non-Brahmins. The cover agencies and the Brahminical bureaucracy work hand-in-glove on behalf of Brahminism to control all the levers of economy — whether of Hindu or Muslims.

BSO did this clean job by hiding its identity from the public view and save itself from the public wrath. Here the services rendered by their religious institutions to carry out the heinous work of indoctrination, enslavement and exploitation are of utmost importance.

There are about 6 lakh villages in the country and all cover agencies are having lakhs of branch offices spread to all over the country to hinduise (enslave) the non-Hindu original inhabitants of India. A brief list of such cover agencies is given along with probable number of bases and men working with them. The list is drawn from my memory and errors are possible in it. Our DV family members must think on the subject and update the same for future revolutionary work.

Deceptive names: All cover agencies are working on a permanent basis but bearing fake names making it appear that they are doing a "sacred" work. But these masks cover their real anti-national intentions. All cover agencies work unitedly like one man to protect the vested interests of the BSO.

Even minority religions like Sikhism, Christianity and Islam have been infiltrated and sabotaged from both inside and outside. That is how Budhism fell flat and got hinduised. DV has published hundreds of reports, articles and even Editorials on the anti-national work of BSO.

All cover agencies work secretly as per the dictates the Manusmriti which, according to Dr. Ambedkar, "forms the institutes of Brahminism" (W&S Vol.3, p. 271).

DEBATE
Goenka's Budhism is anti-Dalit

Vaibhav wasnik, 1701-N. Tyndall Ave., R2N4, Tucson, AZ - 85719, USA
I liked your Debate on Vipassana. You are doing a great service by exposing the bad intentions of the Vipassana walas. That is how Budhism died once in India. This should not happen again. Brahmins captured Budhism and killed it. Yeshwant Nagarale (DV Sept.1, 2004 p.24) is trying to say that Babasaheb did not understand Budhism well and hence there is a need for people like Goenka to teach us Budhism.

We are Ambedkarite first and Budhist later. Budhism was just a way to escape from Hinduism. There was nothing inherently bad in religions like Islam or Sikhism. Because the followers of these religions in India believed in the caste system. Babasaheb didn't accept these religions. These guys like Goenka are trying to destroy the revolutionary aspect that Babasaheb taught us.

I don't understand why our people are confusing Ambedkarite Budhism with Goenka's Budhism. People who want to follow Goenka may follow him but that has nothing to do with the Dalit movement. If you are a Dalit, Goenka's Budhism is useless.

Even if Budha did say yes to Vipassana for a common man, knowing the ground reality of the Dalit situation, the Dalit movement should stay away from Goenka. Ambedkarite Budhism cannot accept Vipassana.

India's national language is English

Dr. K. Jamanadas, Shalimar, Main Road, Chandrapur - 442 402
I do not know why one should try to promote the regional languages. Regional languages have been strengthened by the Brahminic force since about 1000 AD. Before that, India was united on language front barring a few minor exceptions. The regional languages have created the regional nationalities and weakened India.

It must not be forgotten that Hindi became "national" language just by one vote on second recount in the Constituent Assembly. The real national language of India is English.

Earlier the regional languages are killed and buried better for the Indian nation. Why resurrect something which is already dead?

Dalit students excluded from knowledge revolution

Sanil M.N., Thanal, Thenhippalam PO, Malappuram dt. - 673 636
Dalit-tribal students are considered as a group who are having the benefits of reservation. Upper caste/middle caste/minorities students/teachers consider them as beggars who are having positive discrimination. Dalit-tribal students are insulted by using the binaries like merit/reservation, scholarship/inability. Post-Mandal condition and the current debate on reservation in private sector can be seen as the reactionary attitudes against the socio-mobility of Dalit-tribal students. Most of the non-Dalit-tribal students are against the reservation in the private sector. This response is a parody of the upper caste/middle caste/minorities against the Mandal Commission Report.

Private sector quota: Dalit-tribal students are the usual dropouts from the mainstream/parallel institutes. Most of them are living by child labour. Most of the Dalit youth have become the victims of the criminalisation of the labour. Now, the state is withdrawing from the welfare measures. At the same time, the state is strengthened in the case of police/army which can suppress the Dalit-tribal assertion. The current debate about reservation in private sector is a distant dream for Dalit-Tribal students. They do not have the skill to become the knowledge workers. Dalit middle class students can avail the benefits of social globalisation. But poor Dalit-tribal students will be marginalized in the rat race of economic globalisation. They have failed to achieve the socio/cultural/economic capital due to their Dalit-Tribal status. Dalit-Tribal students are not empowered by the Dalit-Tribal populist/autonomous groups. Diffidence is the salient feature of Dalit-Tribal students psyche. They are not competent to operate within the globalised professional scenario.

Mental torture: Most of the Dalit-Tribal students suffer from the physical and mental torture from the natives, teachers, classmates, non-teaching staff etc. Due to their Dalit-Tribal status they cannot retaliate in the same manner. The social composition of mainstream/parallel institutes have changed in every respect. The upper caste/middle caste/minorities students are going to foreign universities for higher studies. But Dalit students are very late in their admission to the state/central universities. But, Dalit-Tribal students are not allowed to enter into the think-tank institutes of India. But most of these institutes are doing their research in Dalit-tribal studies. They are the theoretical Brahmins of India who are interested in the exclusion of empirical Dalit-tribal students. Most of these institutes are paradoxical institutes that are based on competitive inequality. Civil (Hindu) society is excluding Dalit-tribal students by using above mentioned strategies.

Suicides: Parallel institutes are dominated by the cultural elites who are coming from the upper caste/middle caste/minorities reference/pressure groups. Most of the cultural elites are giving alternative education to the Dalit-tribal students. On the other hand, their children are not studying the alternative education. But some of the cultural elites children are included in these institution. They are trying to show it as an act of transparency. But the children of such cultural elites are approved by the civil (Hindu) society due to their caste/class/region/gender/religion. But the above mentioned children are more privileged than the Dalit-tribal children. Dalit-tribal students do not have the contacts with the reference/pressure groups of the Indian society. Contacts based on caste and religion plays a vital role in the case of social mobility. Dalit-tribal students body language/physical structure is not sufficient to meet the demands of mainstream/parallel institutions dominant aesthetics.

Subcaste rivalry: Mainstream students unions are not ready to take up the Dalit-tribal cause. But Dalit-tribal students are appropriated into it for the vote bank. Dalit students who are having status of middle class are not ready to interact with the poor Dalit-tribal students. There are so many cliques among Dalit-tribal students which are determined by subcaste, gender, region, class, religion etc. Dalit-tribal students unions are trying to resist the anti Dalit-tribal policies of mainstream/parallel educational institutes. But non-Dalit teaching/ non-teaching staff, non-Dalit-tribal students union etc. are trying to counter them by using internal assessment. Dalit teachers are not interested to resist such strategies. They are interested to raise identity politics for their vested interests. Dalit-tribal students are committing suicides due to the anti-Dalit tribal policies of the nation-state. Dalit-tribal students are excluded from the field of knowledge in a new manner.
