PROBLEM OF UNTOUCHABLES GETS INTERNATIONLISED
Dalits unmask ugly face of racist Hindu India before Americans
V.T.RAJSHEKAR

For the first time in the history of American Congress (Parliament) the public hearing on India's notorious apartheid enforced on 20% of its Untouchables with fully religious sanction - a closely guarded secret - shocked the world and Americans in particular.

The public hearing of Oct.6, 2005 exploded the myth of Hindu India's gandhian non-violence and their much advertised constitutional protection to Dalits. The hearing called the bluff of both the claims.

DURBAN DEFEAT

After the Hollywood shock of Sept.14, 2005 (DV Oct.16, 2005 p.5: "Indian racism & Dalit persecution by Hindus shock Hollywood") the Washington hearing was a virtual spit on the face of the Hindu rulers. That is why India's Hindu papers literally blacked out the whole event. And those who published it came out with distorted reports.

The Untouchables of India had gone to Durban (2002) complaining to the United Nations that India's casteism, which is the other name for Hinduism- the religion of the ruling micro-minority upper castes - be declared as racism. But there also the Govt. of India controlled by the same Hindu rulers advanced all sorts of lies and saw to it that we were defeated.

But in Washington on Oct.6, the entire pack of Hindu lies went up in flames and the whole world could witness the ugly face of Hindu India, the original home of racism.

The shocking case of the Untouchables of India crashed into USA for the first time when our book, Dalit: The Black Untouchables of India, was published way back in 1987. The book published by Clarity Press has gone into four reprints and all important Black leaders of America came to know that the Indian system of Apartheid was much more serious than that of South Africa. Several Black delegations came to India and witnessed the working of the Apartheid system, integral part of the Hindu caste system.

In America, the Blacks are employed for household work. But in India no Dalit is allowed inside a Hindu house. No Hindu will buy any eatables from him. He is not only Untouchable and unseeable, but also unthinkable. The moment a Hindu thinks of an Untouchable he has to purify himself by taking a bath. This is because the Untouchable is considered a sinful, polluted creature. Has human history ever heard of a case like this where a person is considered polluted?

BRAIN BEHIND THE SHOW

This is the history of Hindu India which has remained unchanged ever since the Aryans set foot on this soil several thousands of years ago. The Hindu does not change because he belongs to the Sanatana Dharma.

The Congressional hearing was the second biggest attempt to internationalise Hindu India's deadliest problem. The credit for this goes to Brother Joseph Dsouza, president of the All-India Christian Council and also international president of Dalit Freedom Network.

He may face the curse of the entire Hindu hordes but for hoisting the Dalit flag atop Washington, the capital of the world, we Dalits will be ever grateful for his daring job. Hindus hate people who speak out the Truth. They hate Dalit Voice for the very same reason. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was also hated and was even killed by the same forces. But Babasaheb went into history and today he occupies the highest place hailed as the "Father of India".

SERIOUS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

Several US lawmakers bemoaned the gross human rights abuses and humiliation heaped upon the Dalits and tribal peoples in India, and said that for all the progress India has made over the years, it was highly regrettable that the lot of these Untouchables remained in such a terrible state as they continued to be victimised under the yoke of a shameful caste system. Congressman Christopher Smith, New Jersey Republican, who chairs the House International Relations Subcommittee on Global Human Rights and International Operations, who convened the hearing titled "India's Unfinished Agenda -Equality and Justice for Victims of Caste System", said:

The Dalits and tribal peoples are treated as virtual non-humans, and suffer pervasive discrimination and violation of their human rights.

Smith, a fierce human rights advocate in Congress, and vice chairman of the House International Relations Committee, welcomed the 'global partnership' announced by President Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh following their July 18 summit here. But Smith said "there is still a long road to travel". While "most observers have focused on the nuclear proliferation implications of our announced agreements as potential stumbling blocks to a true strategic partnership between the US and India," he believed that while both countries sought such a partnership, "we must not lose sight of India's serious human rights problems."

GOVT. OF INDIA CRITICISED

He said these problems had been "amply documented" in three current State Department reports - the 2004 Human Rights Report on India, the 2005 Report on Trafficking in Persons, and the 2004 Report on Religious Freedom. "All three are massive catalogues of human rights violations which the Government of India condones, ignores, and in some instances, has even promoted", he said. India leads the world in its tolerance for sex-selection abortions and female infanticide. While India forbids both, there is virtually no enforcement of these laws. UNICEF has warned that unless steps are taken to address the problem, India would soon face unexpected social problems, not least increased trafficking of women, because as more and more girls are aborted or murdered after birth, larger numbers of women and girls will be trafficked.

Smith said Dalit girls have been forced to become temple prostitutes (Devadasisi) and are eventually sold into prostitution and tens of thousands of tribal women have been forced into situations of economic and sexual exploitation.

No group falls prey to India's poor human rights record than its Dalits and tribal peoples.

CHRISTIANS PERSECUTED

He told the packed committee room filled with human rights activists and representatives of Dalits both from the US and India that in India's own version of 'apartheid', Dalits are routinely abused at the hands of the police and of upper castes that enjoy the state's protection. Despite constitutional safeguards, the rights of indigenous groups in the Eastern parts of the country are often ignored and mob violence, lynching, arson and police atrocities against tribal persons are all too common. Over the years, many Dalits and tribal groups have converted from Hinduism to other faiths to escape widespread discrimination and achieve high social status, he said.

"However, such converts often lose benefits conferred by the govt.'s affirmative action programmes because these, according to the Constitution, are reserved only for those having Scheduled Caste status". "Converts to Christianity and Christian missionaries are particularly targeted, as violence against Christians often goes unpunished."

He said "Christian missionaries have been operating schools and medical clinics for many years in tribal areas and among the very poor, and tribal peoples and Dalits have made great strides as a result".

But "Hindu extremists resent these gains for disturbing the traditional social order, since better educated Dalits and Tribals no longer accept their disadvantaged status as readily as they once did." Many states have also adopted anti-conversion laws, in violation of India's constitutional protection for religious freedom.

"As an American, I can easily understand the difficulty in a democratic, federal system of confronting deeply ingrained social prejudices against a minority", but he said, "that difficulty must be faced and overcome in any nation that aspires to its rightful place as one of the great nations in the world".

"To keep nearly a quarter of one's population in subhuman status is not only a grotesque violation of human rights, but it is a formula for economic and political stagnation as well".

RACISM IN AMERICA

Smith acknowledged that "once in America, we deprived African Americans of the most basic rights and opportunities. This was especially true in our southern states, which were once a byword for poverty and backwardness among people of all races. For a long time we refused to act at a national level to stop lynchings, often arguing that it was a local problem", he said. "Yet we all suffered the consequences of shutting off a huge segment of our population from equality and justice".

The American White Christian leader had the humility to accept the wrong done by his ancestors but in Hindu India you cannot expect the Hindus to admit the truth. According to them if the Untouchables had suffered it was because of their karma (past misdeeds). In other words the Dalits were persecuted because they deserved it. Christianity does not sanction racism, apartheid. But under Hinduism, the religion of the rulers of India, all these things are ordained by the god himself. This is the difference between US and India.

Smith said civil rights movement, led by Rev. Martin Luther King, ended all legal basis for discrimination, "and lynching is only a shameful memory, the southern states are among the most economically dynamic in America, and all regions of America enjoy unprecedented prosperity." Thus "by fulfilling its promises of equality and justice for all, India will also benefit in every way imaginable". Other lawmakers who spoke said it was incomprehensible that this kind of "apartheid" continued to be practised to this day.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California, the senior-most Democrat on the Subcommittee, said, "For all its success, India carries its social customs like its practice of untouchability, that impede its progress toward a modern India".

GANDHI, ENEMY NO. 1 OF DALITS

Some congressional leaders referred to M.K. Gandhi and his criticism of Untouchability. But they must know that Gandhi fully defended Hinduism of which untouchability (racism) is part. Gandhi was no friend of Dalits. Dr. Ambedkar called him Enemy No.1 of Dalits.

Joseph Desouza and his team should have briefed the congressional leaders that it was Gandhi who stabbed in the back Dr. Ambedkar, the Father of India's Untouchables, by forcing him to give up the demand for separate electorate. This one act of Gandhi converted Dalits into permanent slaves of Hindus by making them part of their religion.

Amnesty International's Asia advocacy director T. Kumar told the hearing that the Indian Govt. should fully enforce laws against discrimination on the basis of caste and descent, and rein in groups, including the police, which he said had discriminated against Dalits. This culture of impunity must end.

Until India's "hidden apartheid" is truly and completely abolished, the world's largest democracy cannot hope to make truly substantive progress towards liberty for all", he said.

Kumar urged American-owned businesses in India to establish a quota system, similar to the Indian government's, which ensured the setting aside of jobs for qualified Dalits, especially women. The US Govt. he said, should urge the World Bank to also ensure that funds allocated to India were "non-discriminatory" and include a quota for Dalits.

Barbara Lee, an African-American Representative from California, suggested a dialogue between representatives of the Black American and Dalit communities to discuss "our ongoing struggle". "As an African-American, many of the issues and difficulties and the atrocities taking place on the Dalits, I can very much relate to given our history here on slavery and segregation", she said.

QUOTA IN U.S. INSTITUTIONS

Noted Dalit leaders pleaded with the US Congressmen to protect the interests of the Dalits and ensure that the US and the UN must intervene to end the discrimination, exploitation and persecution of India's 150 million Untouchables and Tribals. They also demanded job quotas and reservations in US enterprises in India as well as in the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and USAID-aided projects. They wanted reservations for seats in US educational institutions as well as special visas to enable Dalits to travel to the US for jobs or higher education. They also urged the US administration to instruct its officials at the World Bank and other multilateral institutions to ensure that funds allocated to projects in India were non-discriminatory and included a quota for Dalits.

The Indian activists were testifying before the House International Relations Subcommittee on Global Human Rights, and International Operations about "India's Unfinished Agenda: Equality and Justice for 200 Million Victims of the Caste System".

Those who testified before the committee were: Udit Raj, Chairman, All India Confederation of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes; Kancha Ilaiah, Professor of Political Science Osmania University; Indira Singh Athwale, All -India Confederation of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes Organizations; Joseph D'Souza, President, Dalit Freedom Network; T. Kumar, Advocacy Director Asia and Pacific, Amnesty International.

HINDUISM CRITICISED

Udit Raj said it was the Hindu social system which kept Dalits away from basic amenities and human rights but now globalisation of economy was diminishing their opportunities in governance. Indian industries were not willing to integrate Dalits in their establishments. Foreign investment, especially flowing from the United States, has got enough establishment and industries which can pave the way for opportunities i.e., reservation, a sort of affirmative action, "which will not only give a fitting reply to prejudiced dominant castes, but it will also repeat history that the foreigners can do better justice as British did in the past."

Udit Raj warning to US on reservations
SANJAY, MEDIA INCHARGE

Dalit Freedom Network (DFN) based in USA has prominent personalities like Baroness C. Cox,. House of Lords, England; W. Armstrong, former Senator of USA; professors and intellectuals on its Board. DFN organised an international meet at Washington on Oct.5-6, 2005 to discuss and deliberate on Dalits and their liberation in a global perspective. Udit Raj, chairman, All-India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations, spoke at the meeting:-

When Blacks in USA were living in slavery at least they were given enough food so as to fetch good price when they were sold. Even this was not available to Indian Dalits. Dalits had to toil and toil forever, but cannot ask anything in return for their services. After millennia of Dalits sufferings in India, the British rule granted them right of reservation in govt. services and politics. Now globalization of Indian economy is diminishing their opportunities in governance. On one hand, the govt. policy is to reduce total job opportunities, which in turn reduce jobs under reservation. Recent trends in judicial activism are a serious threat to job avenues whatsoever are left to Dalits. Painfully, neither Indian industries are willing to integrate Dalits into their establishments, nor foreigners investing in their establishments in India are offering job opportunities for Dalits with some sort of reservation like the Affirmative action in USA.

NGO mischief: A majority of upper caste NGOs, often articulate Dalits grievances without the knowledge of Dalits and walk away with funds. A White businessman established a medical college in Mississippi exclusively for Blacks but there are no such examples in India. The US as a leader and other global economic players can provide opportunities to Dalits to seek jobs in US while liberally providing them visas to uplift them. Educational institutions can be established in India for awarding diplomas and degrees under the affirmative action.

Hyderabad University students embrace "caste identity" thesis
SUNDAR, R.NO. N-209, HOSTEL-E-, HYDERABAD UNIVERSITY, HYDERABAD - 500 046

We thank Editor V.T. Rajshekar for having come all the way from Bangalore to speak in our Hyderabad University. We are privileged to have you on that occasion. We enjoyed and cherished every moment when you were speaking at the Ambedkar Hall. The speech was witty and thought-provoking - especially your critical comments on Brahmins, Vedas, Brahmana Jati Party (BJP), the communists and comrades (Kamma - Reddy) are worth mentioning.

Parliament as agrahara: The "caste identity" thesis that you put forward is novel and unique and differs from most of the social scientists's view. "Caste identity" and thoughts that caste consolidation at its first sight may look gloomy but has proved a boon for Bahujans. The Brahmins, just 3% of the total Indian population, were holding the power and exploited the rest of the mass, who had not realized their strength, by strengthening their caste. It is in this context the caste-based political parties sprouted and saved their kins from the sinister hold of Brahmins.

Critics of the "caste identity" must peep into the recent history of Indian politics especially into the Nehruvian era in which the Parliament can aptly be named as agraharam. It may also be noted that losing the "caste identity" will again bring back the Brahminial tyranny. So it is not difficult to understand as to why the Brahminical forces ask the people not to think on caste lines.

Confused Dalit intellectuals: What irks us is some Dalit intellectuals couldn't differentiate between the Brahminical caste systme and the "caste identity" that you propound. The question you put forth in your speech contianed the answer in it:

If the "caste identity" strengthens the caste system and hence Brahminism and Hinduism why do the Brahmins are up against the thesis? Should we not love what the Brahmins hate?

We students believe that by opposing the "caste identity" one goes with the right-wing Brhaminical forces - sangh parivar. The communists fail to recognise the caste problem and that in India the other name for "class" is caste.

On many occasions the so-called secularists knowingly or unknowingly go hand in hand with the RSS kind of groups by opposing any attempt to consolidate caste.

It is pertinent to remember here that the Kerala guy who protested when you commented on Vajpayee and the Vedas, is a hard-core RSS member. What is the difference between the RSS and the Dalit intellectuals who both oppose you? The hues and cries of some Brahminical clans on the occasion against you are uncalled for. The shudras are mentioned as "bastards" in the Vedas and their other bullshit nomadic scriptures which we should have banned along with Hindu religion itself. It is our fault that we have not done anything against this nonsense that is why we witnessed the howling from the Hindutva camp.

Hate what the Brahmins love: Your speech has generated lot of heat. After you left there has been lot of discussions and debates among students in our campus about the "caste identity" thesis. Though some of the Dalit students are still skeptic on your view, I hope time will prove you right.

We welcome the healthy trend of this kind of discussions on caste. Your simple logic holds always true: hate what the Brahmins love and vice-versa.

Periyar EVR once asked Veeramani to take over the editorial responsibility of Viduthalai, a Tamil daily from Dravidar Kazhagam. Being too young to take the huge responsibility in DK's mouthpiece, Veeramani reluctantly expressed his apprehension to Periyar. Periyar said:

It is so simple. Read the Hindu daily morning and write just against their views and opinions because they (parpanas) always work against the welfare of our community.

Caste-based student unions: Another important thing happened this week. In our university students union elections, caste-based organisations (ASU and DSU) captured power defeating the Hindu nazi ABVP. We the Dalit students in our students union have proved your "caste identity" thesis, predicted by you just a few days before the elections in our campus.

We are fully convinced by your thesis and in future we will try to hold a seminar with you as the sole speaker.

Dalit scholar cheated by Brahmin NRI in US
F.H. JAKKAPPANAVAR, No.76 - JAIBHEEM NILAYA, HEGGERI, HUBLI - 580 024

Mahadevappa Kariduragannavar is a senior scholar and lecturer in Karnataka University, Dharwad-Karnataka. He did a wonderful world class research in the field of chemistry solving the drinking water problem of the world by his novel economically viable method. His research is "ion-exchange membranes, methods and process for production thereof and uses in specific application". He has come out with the production of water from sea and brackish water, production of salt from sea water, production of chlor-alkali, emineralization of saline water, desalination of cheese-whey, etc.

This membrane will have large demand from the industries from USA, Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Gulf countries etc. He achieved it during 1988-2001 by spending his own money. He was the root-cause for establishing the Chemistry Dept. in his university by getting funds from the University Grant Commission.

Signature on blank paper: Dr. T.M. Amminabhavi is his senior in the University and a Visiting Professor in the University of Texas (USA). Telling Dr. Mahadevappa that he would get the research registered with Patent in US, he took the signature of Dr. Mahadevappa on blank papers. Dr. Mahadevappa signed the papers believing that the patent will be registered in the name of his university. Dr. Amminabhavi did not do so. As professor of Karnataka University, he floated his own company "Karnatech Inc. 9978, Monroe, Dr. suite 303, Dallas Texas with a partnership of Dr. P.V. Kulkarni (a Brahmin), a NRI settled in USA, and got the patent registered in the name of their company vide patent no. US 6,814,865 BI approved on 9.11.2004 and sold to William A. Roever, William A Roever Investment Company, 8201, Preston Road, Suite 750 Dallas, Texas 75225, USA, for huge consideration without a single paisa benefit to our Dalit scientist, Dr. Mahadevappa.

This is an international fraud committed on a Dalit scientist. All Dalits of the world not only should condemn this injustice caused to a Dalit scholar but also we should get him justice. Will any brother/sister residing in Dallas (USA) or nearby check up the details and advice the Dalit scientist?

Ben Marsh, Washington Director, Dalit Freedom Network, adds:

From a brief search, I have discovered the patent listed below. Dr. Mahadevappa Kariduragannavar is listed as an inventor, which means he has rights under US law to his patent. However, the patent has an assignee, S-venty Seventh Meridian, to whom the patent was sold at some point under an agreement between the inventors and the assignee. Disputes about signatures on assignee/inventor agreements are not handled within the Patent Office, however, they are subject to US law and can be prosecuted in court. If the inventor did not want to sell the patent but it was sold anyway, the whole patent could be possibly be changed.

United States Patent 6,814,865,

COMMUNICATION
DV is doing a great job : We will stand by the Editor
GURNAM SINGH MUKTSAR, 2 - GURU ANGAD NAGAR, B/H BUS STAND, MUKTSAR - 152 026

I read your Letter which reflects the actual fate of social revolution in India. When I attended the BAMCEF conventions at Secunderabad and later Aurangabad, I found not a single copy of DV or your books for sale. And none talked of Dalit Voice.

My conclusion is Brahmins and upper castes are not much responsible for our slavery. We ourselves are responsible for our misfortune. Intellectuals from Bahujans -whether Dalit, Backward, Sikh, Christian, Muslim, Budhists -are like social institutions confined to their homes. They rarely like those who are also serving the society. No doubt, all talk of social revolution. But none (except a few) supports the other. They seek help but don't help others.

Considering the great work done by DV at national and international levels, we wished Bharatiya Dalit Chintan Sahit Sangh (BDCSS) of a group of 100 intellectuals who can cry in one voice. But the two workshops at Shimla and Chandigarh were disappointing. Our nonsense eats our sense. I could find only some six persons who are sincere to the cause. The rest did not respond to my BDCSS proposal. Our Father, Babasaheb, left everything for us but we did not study him. We did not learn from him. We are still busy hating each other.

Struggle with Kanshi Ram: I have been a BAMCEF member. I have been a strong pillar of BAMCEF, DS4 and BSP to create the rule of Bahujans. I have been also a member of DV. I have organised All-India Samaj Parvartan Sabhiachaar Manch of some missionaries. For what? Not for myself. I struggled for over 20-22 years in Kanshi Ram's movement. I organised parvartan manch. I proposed BDCSS because I wanted Bahujan rule over India. I wanted a 100-strong intellectuals supporting DV -not V.T. Rajshekar who is capable of supporting himself. But the Editor's social value is much more than all top intellectuals.

Hate is killing us: So, I urged even Kanshi Ram to support DV. We wanted him to stand by DV because there was no other Ambedkarite journal in whole of India. But there is none to support us today.

Without a powerful media every movement fails. I wanted a caravan behind DV. I have my own paper. Yet I supported DV.

I have observed the inner emotions of our "Dalit intellectuals" who hate each other and like none. Hate is killing us.

DV and V.T. Rajshekar, though having played the historic role during the past two decades, have faced this hatred. DV has publicised the books written by all scholars. DV has flashed Ambedkarism at international levels. DV has taken up the cause of Sikhs, Muslims and Christians and has flashed it to the world. DV has no ill-will. It has no hatred. It treats every section of the Bahujan Samaj with equal love.

But no section of Bahujan Samaj has come to support DV. I can understand the agony of a great scholar like you. Dalit Voice has supported the Backward Castes despite tough opposition from some Dalit intellectuals. Bahujan intellectuals cannot live like limited companies confined to their homes. I want DV to continue and prosper. We are here to cooperate.

Sister Sidhu and Subhashchand Musafir are sincere. We should prepare a team of about 25 people. I have many workers to stand by you. They like DV and respect you. Fateh Jang Singh and Ram Parshad too are sincere.

Brahmins losing battle: I am planning to come to Bangalore. We on our own should make history. Our work will effect the future of India definitely.

You can take it from me that the Brahmins are losing their grip over society. This is the achievement of Dalit Voice. Thousands of papers in every language are regularly condemning the role of Brahmins. Every one has come to know the truth that the Aryan Brahmins have created the varna (caste) and untouchability. It is not the god's creation. This itself is a big achievement of DV. The whole world is angry with caste and its hate system. The credit goes to DV.

I know a revolutionary like you is never satisfied till the revolution is over. Even then to do more we have to remain satisfied. Don't have any hopes from our "Dalit intellectuals". We have three papers -DV English, DV Hindi and my Begam Shahar Punjabi. We shall not hesitate to cooperate with others.

The educated Dalits have deceived our society. But lakhs of workers are doing wonderful job.I have been with Kanshi Ram. That is why BAMCEFwalas started disliking me. Still I am supporting BAMCEF because they are fighting against our Enemy. DV members are not poor. They are mentally poor. I have two dozen workers who are ready to die for me. I discuss with them. We need such a team of sincere and willing friends having a missionary zeal.

A team of 10 dedicated personalities can fight thousands. In my last 25 years I have always commanded a sincere team. If today I ask them to leave for Bangalore they will be ready.

Yes, I can understand the position of a scholar like you who has spent all his life in struggle without results. Think of our Father, Babasaheb, who lost his five children and a great wife in his younger days. But he never lost his mission and he is alive for ever.

We shall continue with slight changes. We will continue to fight with the blessings of our great Father.

V.T. Rajshekar is not an ordinary man to live and die. He is a mission. An institution of great thought. An international Dalit scholar. You have a tremendous command over English language. Don't forget that you are a treasurer of great thoughts of great world scholars like Budha and Babasaheb. We are here to stand by you.

I request you to write open-hearted letters to your good friends and reply to their wishes. I daily receive letters and reply to them regularly. I reply even to a small letter. It give us so much energy.

Nov.6 Dalit meet in Madras
RAJU THOMAS, PO BOX - 2296, MADRAS - 600 023

Dalit IAS officers, holding highest positions because of reservations but always busy buttering Brahminical bosses, must take their two senior Tamil Nadu IAS officers, Sivagami and Christudas Gandhi, as a model.

They have organised a meeting of Dalit IAS officers and other officials of TN in Madras on Nov.6 (Sunday) at Museum Theatre, Egmore (Hotel Marina Towers, Egmore) at 4 p.m.

Sister Sivagami is editing a Tamil literary journal, Kodangi. The sixth year of its publication will be celebrated on this occasion. Brother Gandhi has his Dalit organisation called Palam which connects Dalit officers with the Dalit people's problem.

Karnataka's Health Secretary Thangaraj, IAS, is leading a team of IAS officers. V.T. Rajshekar, Editor of Dalit Voice, will speak on this occasion.

Dalit IAS officials have no courage even to form an organisation in the capital city of Delhi which has several hundred such officers. But Brahmin officers openly attend even RSS shakas. This is the difference. To this day no Dalit is made Cabinet Secretary. Dalit officers are openly humiliated, their official career ruined, false cases filed.

When such is the treatment given to the highest ranking Dalits we can well imagine the treatment of illiterate Dalits in Hindu India.

Dalit Voice family members in and around Madras are requested to attend the Nov.6 function. You will get courage on seeing these brave officers.

Hitler loved in Germany
Gurbakhsh Singh, C-7/185 SDA, New Delhi - 110 016

Brother Iqbal Ahmed Shariff's article on Hitler (DV June 16, 2005 p.11: Hitler not worst villain of 20th century") has started a lively Debate. I beg to refer with the Letter of Dr. Parvez Khan on Hitler (DV Oct.1, 2005 p.14). As an Indian Foreign Service Officer,I had worked in Germany (1986-1989), and met a large number of Germans from different walks of life and found that every German had great respect for Hitler. But he will not say this openly. I also found that the Germans are very well aware of the problems of the III-world. They are also aware of India's wretched caste system. The German print media used to publish Kanshi Ram's articles. These were based on the feedback provided by the German correspondents based in India. German political leaders may be approached by Dr. Khan, particularly those from the Greens Party and SPD (Social Democratic Party). Dr. Parvez must brief them about the aims and objects of DV. I am sure the German media, especially the print media will be receptive to DV ideas. I have no doubt that average Germans will praise your article "Hitler Saved Germany from disaster".

Marathi scholar gets certificate
SANJAY KUMAR, OPP. RAGHAVENDRA TEMPLE, NEAR RAILWAY STATION, DHARWAD - 580 007

Hindu terrorist Shiva Sainiks disrupted noted Marathi scholar, Dr. A.H. Salunke's speech at Belgaum on Oct.2, 2005 at Sarvajanik Vachanalaya (public library) at Belgaum which holds yearly lectures by eminent scholars on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.Dr. Salunke spoke on Bali Chakravarti. He recently wrote a book (250 pages) on Bali.

As soon as Dr. Salunke started his speech, about 10 Shiva Sainik terrorists started shouting slogans, indulged in rowdyism and turned violent. They even destroyed the portrait of Gandhi.Dr. Salunke patiently called the protestors for a debate. But they continued the disturbance for half-hour. The police came, restored order and Salunke continued his speech. Ten rowdies - all unemployed Bahujan youths of Maratha caste- were arrested. No Brahmin was found- though they instigated the youths.

The hall was packed with 300 educated Bahujans, mostly Marathas. Advocate Ram Apte (80) and Chandrashekar Patil were injured. The Marathas in Belgaum are a divided lot. One section is with Hindu terrorists and another with PWP who are opposing Manuwadis. The incident shocked the Bahujans The Manuwadi Shiva Sena, Bajarang Dal, RSS-VHP are the brain behind hinduising (enslaving) the Marathas.

We congratulate Brother Salunke for getting a public certificate for his honesty, dedication and scholarship from our very Enemy itself. We must welcome such violent incidents as they disturb the still but stinking waters and helps to get the society cleaned - EDITOR.

Germans refuse to believe zionist lies on Hitler
DR. PARVEZ KHAN, BAHNHONFORPLATAZ-2A, 50667, KOLN, GERMANY

If you really want to know what the Germans think of Hitler, talk to any German in Goethe Institute or any German Embassy official in India. You will soon find out that it is a taboo subject and most Germans refuse to discuss it because they are ashamed of Hitler.

www.goethe.de/Bangalore

On our part, we all believe that Hitler liberated Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and the entire Asian subcontinent from the British because during the World War-II, the British got wakened after fighting Hitler and they were forced to give us independence. Otherwise, if Hitler had not fought and destroyed the British, Asians would still be the slaves of the British even to this date. Many people in Pakistan believe that Hitler gave them independence and I believe that very strongly. Many in India also believe that Hitler was a good man. For further information, read this:

I have shown the Dalit Voice to some of my German friends in the University of Köln and they are amazed to see that Hitler is admired among your people in India. Many Germans decline to discuss it because they are embarrassed of Hitler. The new propaganda which is now sweeping many academic circles in Germany and Holland, is that Hitler did not kill 6 million and he only killed between 200,00 and 300,000. The under mentioned facts are gaining ground in Europe:

200,000 is true... 6 million is Jewish lie: (1) Hitler killed only 200,000-300,000 people and not 6 million. The figure of 6 million is now considered to be the biggest Jewish lie of the 20th century.
No gas chambers in 1945: (2) The gas chambers did not exist during the time of Hitler. They were constructed in 1949 and 1952, to sustain the biggest Jewish lie of 6 million. No academic would have accepted the figure of 6 million without the presence of gas chambers, so it was essential to construct the gas chambers to give long lasting life to the figure of 6 million. For further information read this: Did six million really die?

Ann Frank's diary is a total lie.

Diary of 10-year-old child: It is said that Ann Frank wrote a diary during the war time and chronicled the German atrocities committed against the Jews. It must be remembered here that Ann Frank was just a 10-year-old child during the war and children of that age never write diaries. Only businessmen, chairman of companies, journalists and politicians maintain diaries in order to keep pace with the appointments and to compose some important matters in the diary. 10-year-old children have no business with compiling diaries and there is simply no need for them to do so. I have never seen ay 10-year-old boy or girl writing a daily diary.

During the war time, when people's lives are in danger, the first thing on everybody's mind is to find an escape route and save their lives and the lives of their families. Writing a diary at such chaotic time, when the bombs are exploding here and there and the threat of execution is hanging on one's head, does not make any sense and nobody would indulge in this unnecessary task during the war, particularly a 10-year-old child.

Biggest fascist country: A firm belief is gradually gathering pace among the intellectuals that Ann Frank never compiled any diary and all the entries in this diary were inserted after her death.

The final conclusion is that Hitler only killed 200,000, gas chamber did not exist during the time of Hitler and Ann Frank never wrote any diary. I will soon join the DV family world wide.

German TV RTL (www.rtl.de) is nowadays showing the Bollywood films at the rate of once a month. It appears to me that there are some Brahmin fascists working in RTL also, who are influencing the decision-making process among the management of RTL.

I have sent the DV to the management of RTL also with the hope that it will convert them and would tell them the truth that India is not the biggest democracy in the world. India in reality, is the biggest fascist country in the world and in our conversations, we refer to it as fascist India.

Zionist mind control through media
RAMZY BAROUD

Many lessons can be drawn from the Israeli domination over the Palestinians in the past 55 years, most notably the audacious mandate of institutionalized violence. Even more alarming than the crimes themselves is the fact that even after blatantly violating international law, Israel manages to remain in the safety of the fold of the international community. Perhaps the Sharon Govt. gleaned its wisdom from Niccolo Machiavelli's treatise, the Prince, rather than the Geneva Conventions. Consider the following scenario as a paradigm of the Machiavellian philosophy applied to the Palestinian problem.

An important factor in institutionalizing oppression is through the utilization of the legal system. Israel has successfully passed laws, such as the Law of Return, which allow the Jews and only Jews to immigrate to Israel based on their race, while Palestinians are denied the right to live in their homeland and on their own property because they don't fit into this category.

Media to sell falsehood: The Absentee Law allows the state to confiscate the property of dispossessed Palestinians and claim it as state property. These laws have proved quite successful, since they make race the determining factor in attaining rights in Israel with Jews as first-class citizens and Arabs second class. They also rid Israel of some 5 million refugees, scattered elsewhere.

Another case of institutionalized oppression is military occupation. Israel has occupied Palestine and other Arab lands for decades. This way, although condemned by futile UN resolutions, Israel has successfully achieved the upper hand over its subjects.

The modern imperialist must understand that a strong army remains essential in controlling the settlements and their people. Thanks to the sheer strength of Israel's invincible army,. Palestinian rebellions have been suppressed through massive applications of force. It doesn't matter whether force is used against armed or unarmed individuals, children, women or the elderly. What matters most is conveying a message that subjects have no chance of gaining the rights for which they fight, and if they want to live, they must surrender to whatever the state demands. Today's imperialists must use the mass media, for it is unquestionably the most effective tool in winning today's wars. It is important that the message conveyed through the media highlights the losses of the colonialist, not the colonized. The media must portray us as civilized and our enemies as savage; it must show us as righteous and our enemies as wicked, it must show us peaceful and our enemies as terrorists.

If the media is tightly controlled, we can fashion our own reality. We can cause the world to blame our enemy when we kill their children, and we can make our soldiers heroes while their fighters are branded as criminals. Israel has indeed mastered art of media control to the point that we can even blame Palestinian parents for sending their children to be killed to grab media attention. Interestingly enough, many believe us. (ramzybaroud@hotmail.com).

BEWARE OF BOOKS ON COUNTER - REVOLUTION
How Brahminism pushed Indians into slavery
Dr. K. Jamanadas, "Shalimar", Main Road, Chandrapur-442 402

I was rather amused to see the discussion on Bhagwat Gita on Internet. Some of our Dalit friends rather got aggrieved that such a discussion should take place in the Dalit Forum. I was equally amused when I read a comment by one Hindutva woman who had the audacity to advise Purushottam Khedekar to read the Gita before starting the new religion of Shiva Dharma. What exactly are the teachings of the Gita - manufactured by Brahmins - written, edited and re-edited after the murder of Emperor Brihadratha by Pushyamitra Shunga? Hence it is a counter-revolutionary literature.

YOGA STOLEN FROM SIDDHAS

The books like the Gita, the Manusmriti, the Brahminical law book, were the original scriptures, there being hundreds others written to supplement them later. During the last days of Budhism, it was the Vajrayana that was prevailing, under the Siddhas, who were adept in the science of yoga. To counter that, after the worship of Rama started, Brahminic scholars put forward a book called Yoga Vashishtha, dealing with the science of yoga and propagating Brahmanism. Though the original yoga did not believe in the existence of an all-Supreme God, later books talk of supreme Lord of universe.

The Manusmriti was too mundane, Gita was too difficult and prone to all kinds of interpretation and the Puranas were too superficial. So to explain to the gullible masses the tenets of what came to be known as Vedanta after Adi Shankara, the books like Yoga Vashishtha were manufactured. In the garb of Vedanta, they explained the same rules of chaturvarnya, making it pleasant through fables. It is a pity that even the modern scholars like to deal with such books.

MODERN PROBLEMS

If after 50 years of so-called self-rule and democracy, if the masses from the excluded, deprived and neglected classes of the society, on whose strength the battle of so called "freedom struggle" was fought, are denied fruits of "independence" who are to be blamed?

In spite of "financial prosperity" of the nation, the disparities have not been reduced. In spite of development plans, there is no economic emancipation or social and political power in real sense for the SC/ST/BCs, landless labour, small and marginal farmers, artisans, workers - the real producers of wealth.

UNDERSTAND BUDHISM

Only by understanding of Brahmanism one can understand the past history of this country, the present scenario and the future action.

Brahmanism is the social system of graded inequality but is supported and justified on the basis of religion. The Bahujans do not understand this and they become meek supporters of oppressive social system in the name of religion, god and culture.

Why problems exist? If one analyses, it is found that the society is not progressing because its members are still in the clutches of these books, now propagated through the kirtans, pravachans, and T V channels through various channels and by babas and ammas.

Brahmins have two strong weapons to oppress the Bahujans: the concepts of destiny and god. The false ideas of hell and heaven deny the Bahujans the achievements of this world. Engulfed in the web of maya and atma, they become inactive and get oppressed by the BSO.

The Brahminic system has made the original inhabitants of this land the most depressed.

Multiple names to confuse people It reduced them to a deplorable condition by breaking them into innumerable small castes and deprived them of all wealth, prosperity, human dignity and happiness.

We have been using various terms like Brahmanism, brahmanya, brahmanvad, manuvaad, sanatanism, orthodoxy etc. Now a days, all these words are replaced by Hindutva or some new terms like bharatyatwa or rastriyatwa or "national" and so on and so forth. Unfortunately each author uses the term in a sense known to or understood by him only and his interpretation is either unknown to the masses in general or unaccepted by them. Under these circumstances, it becomes imperative to depict the exact meaning of the word.

In the past, the various scholars interpreted the Gita to propagate various forms of atma and god etc. The fact that same text would give rise to so varied a description of the philosophical tenets, does not seem to have bothered anybody and none of the modern scholars have given much thought to it. Neither any of the scholars in the present day seem to have mentioned this as the weakness, and a great weakness at that, of the god-given Sanskrit language.

In the present day, the Hindutva of different leaders is said to be different. Some Brahminic scholars are at pains to explain the differences in Hindutva (1) of Arobindo and Vivekananda, (2) of Sawarkar and (3) of RSS propounded by Golwalkar. We feel all this discussion is eyewash to hoodwink the masses. For our purpose, Hindutwa of any and all types have certain cardinal points, and there is no difference about this among the scholars. These are:

1. Chaturvarna:

This is the main feature. The society must be divided into four water-tight compartments called Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and shudra, and that the entry to them is only through birth.

Chaturvarna is like a tower with four floors without any staircase.

There are many conceptions for this system. It is a divinely ordained system, being made by god. It is the duty of human beings to follow this system without expecting any returns from it. Your duty is only to do the karmas, i.e. the deeds related to following the chaturvarna. This is the divinely ordained dharma. When this dharma gets dormant, god takes birth to punish the evil, i.e. those who disturbed the dharma and preserve those who are sadhus, i.e. those who follow this dharma.

It must not be confused with the division of labor. This is not the division of labor but division of laborers. Under this system you are allowed to marry only within your own caste, and you are also required to follow the calling of your ancestors, howsoever it may be fearsome. It is better to die in the calling of your ancestors than to follow others' profession. Because it is always better to die in your own inferior dharma, that is profession, than a better one of others, which is always fearsome.

It means the daughter of a prostitute must become a prostitute and son of a pimp must become a pimp.

A scavenger's son may take education and become a doctor but he must earn his living not by working as a physician but must earn his livelihood by scavenging. So said the great Mahatma, only that he must become an expert in scavenging. This is the summary of chaturvarna. Even now there are supporters to this theory.

2. Supremacy of god:

As the theory of caste is put forward by the god himself, it cannot be challenged. After all, god is the one who has created the universe. Nothing moves in this world without his wish. Not even a leaf moves without his wish. How is this theory put into action by god? Of course, according to the deeds of the past life. If you have followed the chaturvarna in the past life, you have accumulated enough punya (virtue) to make you, that is your atma, to have a body of a higher varna. After all, you are of no consequence. It is your atma that is the thing of great importance. It is your atma which is real you. It is separate from your body. Though you are not your atma, the karmas, that is the deeds of chaturvarna, have to be followed by the body. It is a very simple theory. When you die, it is the body that dies. The atma goes to another body. Just like changing your shirt, atma changes its dress. This atma does not die, it cannot be cut by weapons, neither it can be burnt by fire, nor it can be desiccated by wind. Whatever physical birth you are having now is due to your deeds in previous birth. If you did good deed- meaning respecting caste rules- you would be born in higher caste. Otherwise you would be born in a lower one.

The idea of this consent-building device is that you must not grumble about your present situation, it is all arranged by the god himself taking into consideration the deeds of your previous birth.

3. Belief in infallibility of shastras

It is very essential to make this rule so that god and chaturvarna could be supported, because all the above is stored in books written by the "Gods on earth" (Brahmins) who had to preserve their purity and sacredness. This they did by prohibiting these books to others, who are not entitled to be born as gods on earth because of non-compliance of chaturvarna dharma in past life.

4. Belief in visit to holy places:

Also necessary to keep the supply line of provisions to priestly class so that they can go on writing shastras to govern the rest of the society. They kept all keys to knowledge under their control, thereby controlling the masses in the name of god, religion, mandir, masjid and culture. This was what god wished.

5. Bath in Ganga washes all sins:

Very essential to empower the earthly gods to lure masses to visit the tirthas, utsavams, ratha yatras, Brahmotsavams, the places of pilgrimage, spread all over the country. Very useful device to deprive the Bahujans of whatever little wealth accumulated by them and also to build a consent system in them to the priestly exploitation and indoctrinate them in Manu's way of thinking.

These were the mechanisms used by the Brahmins to dominate the Bahujans. And these were the very things opposed by the Buddhists from times immemorial. The contradictions between Brahmins and non-Brahmins had assumed different names, shapes and forms during the course of different periods of history, and the history of India is nothing but the history of conflict between these two ideologies, said Dr. Ambedkar.

PROBLEM OF CASTE SYSTEM

It is well known that an international demand for certification of all export goods to be free from involvement of child labor was turned down by the then Prime Minister of India, Narsimha Rao.

That caste system contributed to child Labor in India is accepted even by UNICEF, which observed: Many traditionalists remained unperturbed about lower-caste children failing to enroll in or dropping out of school. If these children end up doing hazardous labor, it is likely to be seen as their lot in life.

The UNICEF Report only deals with the problem of Child Labor, but it alludes to many problems like problem of Illiteracy, malnutrition, prostitution and that too having the sanction of religion, beggary, disease etc., showing why the benefits of planning are not reaching the masses. It should show why judicial results are not doing justice, it could show the root cause of corruption. It shows the main reason, why the Indian elite think the way they do.

WARNING TO BAHUJANS

The issue of population explosion, or environment, or women liberation, or mandir and masjid are still regularly used for the purpose of diverting the attention of gullible Bahujans away from real issues.

This helps to build consent system among the Bahujans to the exploitation by BSO in the name of religion. Thereby, they refrain from implementing land reforms, banning of bonded labor, labor laws for uniform and minimum basic wages, labor laws for landless labors, enforcing anti-child labor laws, strict free and compulsory primary and secondary education, prevent drop -out from the schools, provide free health, shelter and potable water and sanitation facilities for all. The situation is worsened by the recent philosophy of Liberalization, Globalization and Privatization. And whatever scanty laws were in force for the protection of labor are being scrapped in the name of REFORM of labor Laws. The British rule, though a foreign rule, was much liked by masses than the Brahmin Raj. Not only non-Brahmins, but even the Brahmin women became happy when Peshawai ended. The British Rule was disliked by leaders like Tilak, who misguided the masses in the name of swaraj, which in his definition was rule of "Gods on the earth" alone.

Dr. Ambedkar tried to educate the masses by writing a number of books on socio-cultural history, some of which were published years after his death. It was expected a healthy debate would ensue to go to root of the ills. One of them was The Riddles of Hinduism written to show how Brahmins have put the OBCs in a great quagmire. Dr. Ambedkar observed in a Message to Maratha Mandir in 1947 that, the middle class of Marathas of Maharashtra is not as liberal as upper one, and has no ideology as lower one, which makes it enemy of both the classes. There was a time, they used to be with lower classes, now they seem to be with the upper class. It is for them to decide which way to go. It all should be left to the skill and wisdom of the leaders of Marathas. But there seems to be a lack of such wise leadership among the Marathas, he said.

DR. AMBEDKAR's EFFORTS

Dr. Ambedkar wrote much to educate and awaken the OBCs. It is only now in 21st century that OBCs are awakening gradually. Their awakening has taken a shape of Maratha Revolt against Brahminism in 21st Century in the form of Shivadharma, and Dr. Salunkhe now says, "The religion of Brahmins and non-Brahmins can not be the same."

The Bahujans must understand the wrong interpretation of books like Gita and Yoga Vashishtha is aimed at turning the wheels back, a calamity which must be avoided by all Bahujans.

RAW's 10,000 agents & its Rs. 1,500-crore budget
USMAN KHALID, (usmankhalid@lisauk.com)

The Research and Analysis Wing [RAW] is India's foreign intelligence agency. RAW has become an effective instrument of Indian national power, and has assumed a significant role in carrying out India's domestic and foreign policies. It has engaged in espionage against Pakistan and other neighboring countries. It has enjoyed the backing of successive Indian governments in these efforts. Working directly under the Prime Minister, the structure and operations of the RAW are kept secret from Parliament. Founded in 1968, RAW focused largely on Pakistan. Its formation was initially motivated by reports of Pakistan supplying weapons to Sikh militants, and providing shelter and training to guerrillas in Pakistan.

35,000 AGENTS IN PAKISTAN

Numerous missions were assigned to RAW upon its creation. These included monitoring political and military developments in neighboring countries that affects Indian national security. Consequently, considerable attention is paid by RAW to Pakistan and China, countries that are traditional rivals of India. RAW has evolved from its origins as a part of the Intelligence Bureau to develop into India's predominant intelligence organization.

In 1968, RAW had 250 agents and a budget of Rs. 2 crore. This has expanded to the present day total about eight to ten thousand agents and a budget that experts place at Rs. 1,500 crore, alternately estimated at $145 million. Pakistan has accused the RAW of sponsoring sabotage in Punjab, where RAW is alleged to have supported the Seraiki movement, providing financial support to promote its activities in Pakistan and organizing an International Seraiki Conference in Delhi in November-December 1993.

SUPPORT TO MUKTI BAHINI

RAW has an extensive network of agents and anti-government elements within Pakistan, including dissident elements from various sectarian and ethnic groups of Sindh and Punjab. Published reports in Pakistan allege that as many as 35,000 RAW agents entered Pakistan between 1983-93, with 12,000 working in Sindh, 10,000 in Punjab, 8,000 in North West Frontier Province and 5,000 in Balochistan.

RAW has a long history of activity in Bangladesh, supporting both secular forces and the area's Hindu minority. The involvement of RAW in East Pakistan is said to date from the 1960s, when RAW supported Mujibur Rahman, leading up to his general election victory in 1970. RAW also provided training and arms to the Bangladeshi freedom fighters known as Mukti Bahini.

RAW's aid was instrumental in Bangladesh's gaining independence from Pakistan in 1971.

During the course of its investigation the Jain Commission received testimony on the official Indian support to the various Lankan Tamil armed groups in Tamil Nadu. From 1981, RAW and the Intelligence Bureau established a network of as many as 30 training bases for these groups in India. Centers were also established at the high-security military installation of Chakrata, near Dehra Dun, and in the R.K. Puram area of New Delhi. This clandestine support to the LTTE, some of whom were on the payroll of RAW, was later suspended.

Starting in late 1986, RAW focused surveillance on the LTTE which was expanding ties with Tamil Nadu separatist groups. Rajiv Gandhi sought to establish good relations with the LTTE, even after the Indian Peace Keeping Force [IPKF] experience in Sri Lanka. But the Indian intelligence community failed to accurately assess the character of the LTTE and its orientation India and its political leaders. The LTTE assassination of Rajiv Gandhi was apparently motivated by fears of a possible re-induction of the IPKF in Sri Lanka and a crackdown on the LTTE network in Tamil Nadu.

KARGIL FAILURE

RAW was heavily criticized in 1999, following the Pakistani incursions at Kargil. Critics accused RAW of failing to provide intelligence that could have prevented the ensuing ten-week conflict that brought India and Pakistan to the brink of full-scale war. While the army has been critical of the lack of information they received, RAW has pointed the finger at the politicians, claiming they had provided all the necessary information. Most Indian officials believe that in order to prevent another such occurrence, communication needs to be increased between the intelligence agencies, which would require structural reform. Most recently, RAW has gained attention for providing the US with intelligence on Al-Qaeda and Taliban targets for the war on terrorism in Afghanistan. Maps and photographs of terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan, along with other evidence implicating Osama bin Laden in terrorist attacks, were given to US intelligence officials.
