Caste bias & corruption will kill grandiose rural job scheme

Bangalore: The Congress, the original Brahminical Party of India, is dancing that it has passed the National Rural Employment Guarantee Bill in Parliament. The hungry masses waiting for food are given all sorts of promises.

Our docile masses, made to believe in fate (karma) and next birth (punar janma) and then asked to wait endlessly for the fortune to smile, will have now one more promise to believe.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a capitalist-roader, told the Lok sabha on Aug.18, 2005 that the "historic Bill" aimed at "banishing poverty". After the good-old Garibi Hatao glamour has faded, a new promise to fool the masses.

"It was only through amelioration of poor economic conditions in rural areas could prosperity be achieved". (Hindu, Aug.19,2005).

Sorry Sardarji, we don't agree with this.

India's problem not poverty: We have time and again argued that Dalit problem is not poverty. And for that matter India's problem itself is not poverty. The rural job guarantee scheme aims at "poverty eradication".

How many hundreds of legislations and schemes have been introduced so far by the Central and State govts. to eradicate poverty? Did poverty go?

Rather, India is sinking deeper and deeper into poverty. In villages, particularly in North Indian states, the poverty is forcing the people to migrate to cities in a big way. Yet the rulers are going on giving false promises.

The latest and the grandest gift of the govt. is defective because it diagnoses the "disease" of Indian villages as "poverty". We have said poverty is a by-product of deprivation. Poverty is the symptom. Not the disease. The disease is deprivation inflicted on SC/ST/BCs and Muslim/Christian/Dalit Sikhs due to the Hindu caste system.

Poor taken for a ride: All sorts of promises have been given but you can take it from us we will not go wrong. The job scheme cannot even make a dent on the rural poverty because the upper caste urban-bred rulers, who have no heart- much less a heart to understand rural India- are deliberately prescribing wrong remedies after diagnosing the disease as poverty. For two reasons the grandiose scheme will fail: (1) corruption and (2) caste bias.

The fundamental mistake will be made in selecting the people for the employment. They will not be selected on the basis of their caste but poverty. Again, "the below the poverty line" (BPL) norm is also discarded. Jobs are open to all, not the BPL people.

That means the "poor" upper castes in the village with their right contacts with upper caste implementing officials will manage to get jobs under the scheme.

The scheme will be mired in corruption and there will be wholesale eating. Already 72-crore people out of the 100-crore population of India live in villages. The job guarantee scheme will provide gala time for upper caste exploiters.

Upper caste opposition: The upper caste rulers hate anything that is rural. They don't want the govt. to support the village-dwelling low castes. They make fun of the job scheme saying that "it is like pouring money into a bottomless pit where ghost workers dig and corrupt officials thrive." They want govt. funds to flow only into their ever-hungry stomach.

Nobody is as corrupt as the upper caste rulers. It is they who taught corruption to our innocent people. So our criticism of the job scheme is not from the corruption point of view.

Once again the "poor" are taken for a ride.

Our bragging yuppies

Bangalore: A mobile phone is considered a status symbol and sign of prosperity in India. Our rulers take pride in boasting the "gallop of India" by quoting the figures of mobile sales.

But these yuppies do not know that the number of mobile phone subscribers total only 60.36 million (Deccan Herald - Reuters Aug.10, 2005).

This works out to about 7% of the country's 1,000 million population. It means over 90% have no mobile. They cannot afford it.

But the yuppies, who have forgotten the have-not 85%, think they alone constitute India.

Once again Dalit Christians stand deceived

Bangalore: Dalit Christian representatives on Aug.25 moved the Justice Ranganath Mishra National Commission for Linguistic and Religious Minorities demanding an early decision declaring them eligible for the same rights and protections of law given to Dalits professing the Hindu, Budhist and Sikh faiths. Their memorandum came a day after the Govt. of India told the Supreme Court on Aug.23, that it was handing over the issue to the Commission. The Govt. demanded a four-month adjournment of the Dalit Christian PIL which had led the Chief Justice to pull up the Govt. for its attitude to judgments of the Apex Court. The court will now hear the Dalit Christian case on Oct.18.

Attorney-General Milon Banerjee and Additional Solicitor-General Gopal Subramaniam statement before Chief Justice Lahoti shocked the Dalit Christians. The Mishra Commission, set up in Oct.24 but operational only now, is to determine economic and social backwardness in linguistic and religious minorities. Its charter does not include deciding the constitutional issue of caste among non-Hindu religions. The govt. had extended reservations to Sikh and Budhist converts but denied it to Muslims and Christians.

Dalit Christians form about 70% of the country's Christian population put at 2.5%. The All-India Christian Council puts their population at 1.80 crores.

The govt. did try to fool the Dalit Christians by its statement in the Supreme Court. The govt. told the court that a commission was taking up the Dalit matter. Then it told the court that the Commission had actually started the work. They did not name the Commission in the Supreme Court but outside the court, the Law Ministry additional secretary said Justice Mishra Commission would consider the matter. This came as a shock to Dalit Christians. The Commission office said they have not taken up the issue yet. Originally they were supposed to identify only backwardness, social and economic, among religious and linguistic minorities. It had nothing to do with Scheduled Castes at all. There is a vast legal difference between SCs and their constitutional position and the BCs. Dalits have been one again fooled.

Reservation to women : But which women ?

Bangalore: Our stand on the Women's Reservation Bill is well known. We support the proposed Bill but our question is which women? Are only the "fashionable feminists" considered women? What about the dark-skinned Dravidian women? Those from Muslim and Christians? Tribals? The "fashionable feminists" spearheading the Women's Bill have consistently met with failure because they don't know that political power is gradually passing into our hands. That means democracy is taking roots. This is giving acute stomachache to the "faminists". The upper castes are worried. So they want to send their jatawala women to compensate the loss their men have suffered. We know their mischief. Hence our opposition. Look at the upper caste mischief in opposing reservations to SC/ST/BCs and Muslim/Christians.

These fellows are not opposed to reservations such as to women, "poor people", mentally, physically handicapped, reservation in defence, reservation to senior citizens.They are not opposed to all types of reservations. They oppose only caste-based reservation to our people. As long as they oppose our people, we will continue to oppose their people.

Tony Blair's anti-terror laws will create more terrorists

Bangalore: Tony Blair, by outdoing W.M.D. (weapons of mass destruction) George Bush to please the minuscule Jews in Britain, has jumped from the frying pan into fire. He has wholesale antogonised Britain's powerful Muslim population which ranks third after Blacks and Indians. They may come third but constitute England's most powerful force being solidly united because of their religion.

By asking such a powerful people to abandon their entire culture and the way of life, Blair has forced the Muslims to turn from friends into enemies.

We thought Blair was only the poodle of W.M.D. Bush but reports indicate that the British Prime Minister is indeed the mentor behind American President's wholesale war and violence on Muslims and Islam.

Silence of Amnesty: Even the rabidly anti-Muslim and pro-zionist people are shocked at the anti-terror laws announced by Blair. The new laws to prosecute and wholesale deport Muslims will turn even moderate Muslims against Britain and produce more terrorists.

But the silence of Amnesty International, which claims to give shelter to all "revolutionaries" at its London office, is intriguing. We remember some years back we had a tiff with Amnesty when it was cool to take up the cause of Untouchables persecuted in India. (DV Edit Sept.16, 1996).

Free speech is not a privilege but a pillar of democracy. Even if it is misused it can't be banned. Criticism of the rulers proves the strength of a vibrant democracy. By one stroke of pen Blair has destroyed democracy in Britain.

Islam as an ideology: Blair's complaint is that Muslims suffer from excess of radicalism. But it can't be countered with excess of suppression. Blair will learn this at great cost to Britain. Citizens of a democracy must be free to hear even the harshest criticisisms of their country's policies and practises.

"He has to make a distinction between express incitement of law violation and mere glorification or justification of such action is not a scholaristic subterfuge but a hard-bought acquisition in the fight for freedom". (Geoffrey R. Stone, Law Professor at Chicago University, New York Times/Asian Age, Aug.19, 2005).

Blair is also dividing the Britons into two classes of citizens: The British-born and the rest. The British Muslims, despite being born and brought up in Britain will be simply declared anti-national further alienating a vibrant Muslim population.

Already the Muslims have started distrusting his Govt. And after Blair's Aug.5 new order, it looks the Muslims have turned wholesale against the govt.

In our earlier writings (DV Edit Aug.1, 2005: "London bombs" and Aug.16: "West loses war on terrorism"), we have repeatedly said Islam, like all others, is not merely a religion but much more than that - an idea - rather an ideology. Even zionist writers like Huntington have admitted this truth in so many words. The only difference is instead of calling it an idea or ideology, he called it "civilisation".

Muslims told to abandon Islam: How can Blair ask the British Muslims that they will be accepted only if they cease to behave like Muslims? He wants them to abandon their way of life, their food habits, their dress, marriage customs. In other words, he wants the Muslims to give up Islam. Is it possible for a Muslim to remain as Muslim if he gives up the Islamic way of life?

The British Christians have stopped church-going. They are not even religious. Godless people cannot ask others to stop believing in god.

If Islam is so much hated by hate-mongers like Bush, Blair, Huntington, why it has become the fastest growing religion in the West, Africa and the whole world?

Jews praised for being religious: In India, our micro-minority Hindu nazis are also fanning hatred against Muslims but the masses of India have rejected it. They love Muslims, live with Muslims and accept Muslims as part of the Bahujan Samaj.

Those who hate Muslims for loving their religion and do everything to violently tackle them admire the Jews for being intensly religious. In New York City, the Jews are the one who loudly and openly display their religious fervour. Israelis are praised for launching a religious war to promote zionism. Why the same consideration is not shown to Muslims?

Lessons of history: Tony Blair's ultimatum to British Muslim to deny their rights, their history, their culture has turned them into enemies of Britain.

History says terrorism can never be defeated. You can defeat a country, but you can never defeat terrorism. Blair is warned.

Saudi revolutionary faces British anger

Bangalore: A Saudi revolutionary, Dr. Muhammed Al-Massari, whom our Editor met in London during the recent visit and had a long interview about his campaigns against the hated Saudi regime, has become the latest target of British anti-Muslim racism though he never had anything against the British Govt. His popular website has been closed down.

A professor of physics in Saudi, he was imprisoned there but escaped to Yemen and then came to London. The British Govt. then tried to expel him but failed. It refused asylum but however gave permanent resident status.

From his Wimbley residence in London, he was running a powerful campaign against the American and zionist agent, Saudi Arabia, through a website (www.tajdwed.net), a radio station and sending 10,000 emails a day.

Once a member of the DV family, he attended the meeting convened by the London Institute of South Asia to confer the international Award on our Editor's book, Caste - A Nation within the Nation (Books for Change, Bangalore, 2004):

London: British officials are considering the deportation of a leading Saudi dissident who runs an extremist radio station in the UK and who has been quoted as saying it would be legitimate for Muslims to assassinate Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Earlier this year UK police raided three addresses linked to Massari's radio station after the website carried a video apparently showing the killing of three British soldiers near the Iraqi city of Fallujah. An unrepentant Massari, meanwhile, has authorised his office to issue a statement saying he is the victim of medieval witchhunt. (Deccan Herald, Aug.19, 2005).

On one side the US and British rulers are campaigning for democracy in Muslim countries and on another side they are persecuting Muslim leaders fighting anti-democratic Muslim regimes like Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc.

CANARA BANK SC/ST UNION MEET
Reservationwalas flirting with enemy

Bangalore: The SC/ST Welfare Association of the Canara Bank - one of India's biggest govt. banks - held its 3rd National Conference here on Aug.14 and 15.

A number of bank employees, also DV family members, who came to the conference, later met Editor. The Canara Bank like all other upper caste-controlled govt. institutions, has two SC/ST associations. This conference was organised by the union headed by Purushottam Das. They said about 1,000 employees out of the union strength of 6,000 attended the conference. The other SC/ST union is headed by Jakkappanavar.

What came as a shock to DV members attending the conference was all the political VIPs invited to the conference were from the Brahmana Jati Party (BJP). They were Satyanarain Jatia, a Chamar leader from MP and ex-Union Minister, N.Y. Hanumanthappa, a former Chief Justice of Orissa, Dr. Anantamurthy, a Brahmin writer and Shivalingaiah, a Dalit BJP leader from Bangalore. The only exception was Prof. Kancha Ilaiah. The Canara Bank was started by South Kanara's Gowda Saraswat Brahmins, the brain behind the Hindu nazi party. The bank's chairman and MD, B.N. Rao, was also there. Perhaps this was the reason why the Dalit Voice Editor was kept out, they said. Not even any Ambedkarite literature was kept for sale. Lot of time was spent at the conference on the dismissal of Gopal Prasad, the union's Dalit general secretary, on a minor charge. May be the presence of so many Hindu nazi leaders at the conference will please the Brahmin bosses of the bank and they may take back the dismissed general secretary.

Asked why only about 1,000 of the 6,000 members attended the conference, they said since the conference was not slated to discuss the burning Dalit socio-cultural issue, the majority kept away.

This is the problem with all reservationwalas. The Dalit elites enjoying kushy jobs are least interested in the burning problems of the overwhelming majority of Dalits outside their charmed circle. That is why we keep out of all such ritualistic meetings of reservationwalas who have not only forgotten their Father, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, but have started flirting with our upper caste enemy oppressors - EDITOR.

Palestinians attract world attention

Bangalore: Killer Ariel Sharon is boasting that he has fooled the Palestinians by staging a drama of withdrawal from Gaza strip so that he can consolidate his hold on the illegally usurped Palestine. May be it is an all-round zionist conspiracy blessed by America to establish the illegal Jewish state by cheating the Palestinians.

The Palestinian suffering has no parallel in the world. They have no supporters. Not even the United Nations. Since the entire Western media is controlled by the Jews, only one-sided picture is given. Truth is not coming out. Even the Muslim world has virtually forgotten their longest suffering brothers.

Heroic Hamas: Amid such a gloom and doom the only consolation is the claim of the heroic Hamas that the Israeli Gaza pull-out is a victory for Palestinian armed struggle.

Palestinians are dying and fighting. And fighting and dying. Palestine is the cause of every unrest, war and violence in the whole world. Without restoring their lost land and rendering justice to Palestine the world will never see peace.

Chaos in Iraq

Bangalore: Anything President Bush touches turns into mud. In Iraq, America got defeated. We were the first in the world to predict it. But Americans started saying it only today - after over two years of Iraqi occupation. Even the father of the hate-mongers, Francis Fukuyama, has admitted US is losing. Saddam Hussein, whose pictures have started re-appearing in public places, is laughing in his jail. As this is written, Iraq is facing a break-up into three pieces - Shia, Sunni and Kurds. Sunnis, fearing such a breakup of their country, so far kept untied by Saddam, are boycotting the newly approved constitution. They are sure to defeat it in the October referendum. Meanwhile, more and more people are killed in Iraq including US soldiers. If the country breaks, the blame squarely rests on the head of Bush. The Americans would do well to immediately quit Iraq and apologise for their criminal invasion.

China must reject US plea for talks on Iran & N.Korea nukes

Bangalore: We have reports that America is trying to persuade China to bring round both Iran and North Korea and to halt their nuclear ambition. If this is true, we call upon China not to oblige America.

America is defeated in Iraq and W.M.D. Bush is facing a mounting hostility inside USA. When the enemy is sinking it is our duty to throw a stone or two and see that it is drowned as early as possible.

Saving Israel from Iran: China should not forget that after finishing Muslims, as part of its "Clash of civilisations" theory, the next target is China. Why should China oblige the tyrant?

If America and its mentor, the Jewish state of Israel, are worried about "terrorists" and are facing sleepless nights it is their funeral. They created the terrorists. China did not. They run to China only when in distress. But China must remember how W.M.D. Bush and his Neo-Con controllers scuttled China's bid to buy the American company Unocal.

On one side America is doing every thing to cut China to size and on another side it is seeking China's help to save Israel from Iran.

We know China is close to both Iran and North Korea. It must gradually spread its influence by being the friend in need of all countries in distress - Africa, West Asia and India's oppressed. China is well on its way to becoming the world's No.1 power. For that it has to win the hearts and minds of the world's oppressed - not the American tyrant which destroyed the world peace.

River Saraswati turns out a big hoax

Bangalore: Just because the Brahminical people have a monopoly on our mass media they can concoct any cock and bull story, sell any dangerous idea and yet get away with it. But it is the country and its people who have to suffer the incomparable damages. But they don't care.

Hundreds of examples can be given from recent history but one prominent case is the big build-up given to the mythical Saraswati river which is now found to be a hoax played on the people to establish the Brahminical over-lordship of the country. So much has been written, so many seminars held, research done on a non-existent thing.

Some Brahmin caste groups like the Gowda Saraswat Brhamins are named after Saraswati river which, they say, in course of history disappeared and went underground and now running below the Rajasthan desert. Whole thing is humbug.

While the masses of Indians are hungry, illiterate and busy toiling, the leadership of the Bahujan masses is kept busy fighting for crumbs of political power so that this micro-minority Aryan Brahminical people go on fooling us.

The hoax played by a Bangalore Brahmin, S.R. Rao, on whom the Govt. of India spent millions of rupees to dig out coastal areas in Gujarat for some unproved historical excavations, under the sea expeditions are another humbug. This Rao, who is not heard now, spent millions digging Saurashtra coast to locate a site claimed to be far greater and more ancient compared to the world-famous Indus Valley Civilisation. The Hindu nazi Organiser made hero out of this Rao.

ASI gives up search for a non-existent river

New Delhi: So we finally know that the mythical river Saraswati doesn't exist. After nine excavations in different parts of India, excited initial whispers of its hazy trace, and seven months into the new UPA regime, we were told, via the Rajya Sabha, that there's no sign of Saraswati.

Is this the final verdict on Saraswati? It's difficult to say so because the same Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) that now says there's no such river, was digging away energetically, when BJP's Jagmohan was culture minister, to prove the theory - propounded by archeologists like ex-ASI director B.B. Lal, who was heading the project - that Saraswati of Harappan civilisation was, indeed, the same as the one mentioned in Rig Veda.

ALL-ROUND DOUBTS

The current DG, Babu Rajeev, involves typical bureaucratic magic to play down the flip-flop: he claims the Saraswati Heritage Project was never a big thing for ASI. Never mind that it once held the country's attention, he says it was "not a big project" and many sites dug up in its course were anyway part of the other projects.

So is this the final archeological word on Sarasvati, or just a reflection of the bureaucracy's tendency to conform to the political flavour of the day?

Given all-round doubts about the mythical river, it's probably the former, but the episode indicates a growing political interference in the top institution and the resultant decline of the 139-year old ASI.

Earlier, there would be debates - If B.B. Lal said Mahabharata was a historical even, A.K. Ghosh (a renowned archeologist) would prove that there was no evidence to this effect. Now mediocrity rules in Archeological Survey of India. (Times of India, New Delhi, Jan.17, 2005).

Who said there was a river called Saraswati? Who called ASI excavations? Appoint a vaidik judge to probe the lapses and he will take some years and produce a bogus report so that the retired judge gets a livelihood.

As our politicians are kept busy, the Brahminical forces with the help of their monopoly media go on squandering money on many of their pet projects that will give well-paid jobs to hundreds of their jatwalas and keep the Bahujan masses entertained.

As a result, the scarce resources of this poor country are drained out as India slips and sinks. Who cares? The vaidiks are not bothered if the country sinks as long as they are kept well-fed.
